Fly as high as you can to still nick the circles (you don't have to touch it at all really, try it). The planes are a tad faster higher up and you get to take shortcuts by flying above stuff instead of around it.
Race sure is fun, only way to be in the top 3 is to start there. fuck the poo-2 or whatever
Cutting corners makes the race easy because it seems nobody else knows to do it. Take a high line the first few circles and avoid the furball until it weeds itself out. I even had a nasty spawn in the back of the pack and was able to claim 2nd place by cutting corners and keeping a level altitude between checkpoints. You have to imagine yourself as following a line around the track and how to make it the shortest possible left/right and up/down. There is also some luck involved due to you flying in such close proximity to everyone else. Once you've figured all of that out, you shouldn't have trouble getting into top 3. I got 3 wins in 6 games, so yey.

First game was in a Peashooter and isn't visible here.
Also yeah, Ki-10's definitely the best choice for whatever reason. Really nice to get in a game where over half the team are in I-15s or Peashooters.

So after doing 8 races and finally winning one, I think the only real way to win is to make really smooth movements to keep up the most speed, cut corners, and hope you spawn in the top 5 and have a bunch of people crash into eachother at the start.
in my dreams the race mode was more like a pod race in star wars
I have actually won 2 out of 4. I don't have all the upgrades on my ki so it's hard though.

Every time I do the race mode in a maxed-out Ki-10, every single other Ki-10 outflies me like nothing. I even just had a peashooter breeze past me in level flight. I'm clearly doing something wrong but I have absolutely no idea what.
Tank income makes me not want to play tanks.
Having a great victory and getting handed fucking pennies for it is depressing.

The wing ripping off was actually stealth buffed in some patch. The wings still rip off, but the threshold is [I]a lot[/I] higher and is basically in line with most fighters now. Now that the wings don't fall off every turn the XF5F is actually pretty badass. The armament is still very weak and limited though. 2 .50s and 2.30s, but it's a lot like an American Zero with a stupid fast climb rate.
No x4 event? Bah.

Since I just bought 10000 GE (I actually got the Ace advanced pack on steam which gives 10k GE and 3 months premium), and got a year of premium, I'm sitting on 429 days of premium and 2480 GE left over. Any recommended premium vehicles (For both ground forces and aircraft)? I remember people were saying the German KV-1B, and it's currently only 800 GE, so I'll probably get it. Any others?
