Actually don't the ailerons stop working if the wing is broke?
yea but heres the thing, theres like one break-point on the wing of pretty much every plane and its at the root of it where it connects into the main chassis.
Bullshit, I know for a fact that the Avenger has a damage point in the EXACT spot as the one pictured and so does the bearcat for some reason. neither can actually fly with that damage and it's disturbingly obvious in the Bearcat's case because the damage does not look world ending but the plane still wants to roll over as if the entire wing no longer exists.
I wish the daily 2x didn't apply when you quit the match.. It was spent on a arcade tank match because I misclicked, and then the RB match after that got me 17k without the 2x...

B7A2 is the same way. It loses the aileron and a lick more, but suddenly acts as if there's an inverse wing there.

Not the one on the other wing

One worth mentioning:

That case was partially due to, iirc, the fact that modern jet fighters are moving towards more a lifting body design than a wing-reliant one. What I mean by this is that the wide body of the aircraft is providing a more significant amount of lift than it would in a normal aircraft, and as such the wings are less loaded and serve primarily to contain the control surfaces and weapon hardpoints. Couple this with the immense power you push out of a modern afterburned jet turbine and wings don't really need to exist anymore. Modern planes are more like rockets than they are planes, relying on thrust instead of aerodynamics for lift.
Yeah, F-15 has thrust/weight ratio over 1 so it can climb straight up if it wants to, without wings better than with them. It's still impressive it was able to slow down enough to land without dropping out of the sky.
holy shit
fuck people who eject at airfields when they are getting killed, i guess this is what i get for playing RU servers tho.

please, do tell me how props are supposed to catch jets.

People here dislike it when you shoot planes on the runway, even the infamous rocket planes. But of course they don't have an issue when you seal club lower tiers.
So I've been rather unhappy with how the tier system has yanked me up to far higher battles once I bought my KV-1 Zis 5.
However, it has led to some interesting scenarios considering my only other tanks are the first T-34 and the SU-76. In the last battle I played, it was near the end of the match and I was hiding on a low part of a hill waiting for a tiger to die. The Tiger managed to massacre most of my allies so I popped up, fired pointlessly into his cannon barrel and managed to damage it.
He fires at me and the round explodes backwards and destroys his barrel, lights him on fire, and causes him to explode. I started giggling uncontrollably and cheered when a T-34-85 poked his head around the corner and put a watermelon sized hole through my entire tank and ended my reverie.
oh well, it was still damn funny :v:
tl:dr- use the force and fire down the equivalent of the death star exhaust port

Is the honorable way to just fly over their airfield and wait for them to take off?
Is the honorable way to just fly over their airfield and wait for them to take off?
Well, since he ejected that's basically what happened. I was immediately shot down by the eight AA guns there.

it's annoying because RB maps are getting to feel awfully small these days, and most people play RB to escape arcade gameplay, it feels gamey and stupid to have runways that close to the fight and for it to be your ONLY option and when you die it just feels like the game FORCED you to die rather than it be something you had control over.

Vast majority of prop planes face jets they have ways of fighting, even if with disadvantage. Somebody sitting on a runway is literally helpless (unless they have turrets or you happen to fly through their line of fire). It's not comparable.
Is the honorable way to just fly over their airfield and wait for them to take off?
Technically, Yeah. Back in the 90's, playing Red Baron 3D online, people never shot anyone on the runway, and waited until they made their first turn before ever going after them. Even in 32 player free for alls that took place over a single runway, anyone on the runway or just taking off was off limits. It wasn't a rule, it's just how people were. If you vulched, everyone would gang up on your ass until you left
Hitlerbolt is so fuckin fun. Flying the premium zero felt like a chore. I didn't really like p47s because i played them as ground attack aircraft with all the bells and whistles.
Another captured premium that's completely bonkers is the USA Ki-61 and that's because for some inexplicable reason (well, not really inexplicable; USA PLAYERS) it's bloody TWO RANKS lower than the EXACT SAME plane in the Japanese tree. 2.7 instead of 3.3. If there's a case of pay2win in this game, it's that bloody plane.
You outclimb, outspeed and outdive literally everything else at that rank, and outturn 75% of what you face as well.
Jesus christ you guys get so agressive whenever you're on the recieving end. There's no way I'm going to waste time on some stupid chase after a jet in a prop.

If you've got an opportunity, you take that shit - 'honour' can go fuck itself.
Funny discussion. During WW2 I think one of the best working strategy of dealing with the Me-262s was to get them while they were on the runway.
Tempests on immediate alert took off when an Me 262 was reported airborne. They did not intercept the jet, but instead flew towards the Me 262 and Ar 234 base at Rheine-Hopsten. The aim was to attack jets on their landing approach
Dishonourable Tempest pilots and their meta-gaming.
You know, it's a bit something different when you are literally fighting for your own bare life than when you are playing a game for fun.

And you are the one who got mad in the first place that people don't let you vulch them on the runway and jump out. Nobody would cry about dishonor if you didn't start it, you knob.
Don't be a vulture and shoot a sitting duck then.
Canberras can suck mad dick tho
Also there is something to be said for choosing to land when enemies are nearby and no allies are around to shoot at them
Whenever I'm the last on my team and I'm on the ground or flying away or whatever, I always announce what I'm doing and when I'll be back to fight.
But only when playing as Japan. I must fight with honor and write majestic death poem while my zero burns up.
Out of the German KV and the command variant of the PzIV, which's more worth while?

The Command tank is a copy paste job with premium rewards slapped on

Is that good or bad? I enjoyed the second PzIV with the long 75mm but not sure how it fairs against the larger tanks.
