Are the He-112's somewhat indicative of Bf109 play? Because this whole BnZ/Energy fighter thing is great.
Boom and zoom to kill, if someone is on your tail just climb away to outer space and come abck and get them later :D
I wonder how they'll handle respawns in the infinite-battle. It'd be ideal if they just would let you respawn by paying your repair and re-arm costs in battle and just respawning at the airfield again.
I see no reason why SB has to be expensive to fly, the population is small enough as it is without excluding the poor

Not really, 112s aren't fantastic climbers. They are excellent vertical turners though, so if you do have an energy advantage over someone you can attack, loop onto their tail, repeat. Also A-0 is best Heinkel.
Anything more than one 20mm cannon is just unnecessary luxury
The A-0 is absolutely fantastic, but I remember really enjoying the B in RB too. You just really need to keep an eye on your ammo and only use low convergence. Which is a major step down from the A-0's centerline deathray.

I do need to get the upgrade though, -4m spread is a big difference...
Check what servers you've got enabled. I play on NA, EU and RUS, and I can find a match with my brother in less than a minute, reliably.
Not sure what you guys are doing but I once tried to play T1 sim battles, literally left War Thunder running in the background for 2 hours and it eventually lost connection and I never got game
Single 20mm master race.

Seriously, classiest way to play 109s ever.
Helps that the A-0 has essentially a flak gun, so you get excellent muzzle velocity and kinetic energy out the ass. HEIT rounds will basically cripple any module they hit.
[editline]17th November 2014[/editline]
Because of this, it's best to treat the A-0's gun like a 37mm, tap off 1-3 shots at a time with the confidence that one shell in the right place will end the fight. Makes the ammo last a hell of a long time, too.

Not essentially, the C/30 the A-0 has is literally aircraft variant of the same gun which Flakpanzer 1 has.
It's basically the best german 20mm and one of the best 20mm cannons in the game, if you consider velocity, accuracy, and ammo count.
The damage is a smidge worse than on MG151/20 tho because it doesn't shoot mineshot.
yeah but no 151 belt has 100 percent mineshot, C/30 has 100 percent HEIT belts.
The He-112 also has the advantage of meeting early/pre war planes [sp]unless you're versus America in which case 1943/44 planes[/sp] made of wood and fabric and other easy to kill stuff

An honorable death is always a good one
Is it bad that I can fly the IL-2 and absolutely wreck anything I face?
People really underestimate the IL-2's ability to dogfight but it's incredibly versatile. The cannons have insane muzzle velocity so you'll hit before the other planes rounds hit you if you head on for example.
Instead of wasting ammo on bombers you can always pop a 132mm airburst rocket or two into the bomber and watch it cry.
If you keep your altitude and energy you can have UFO turning for a while and the IL-2 can take some serious fucking damage while dishing out shitloads in turn.

So I'm not the only one that loves the IL-2. It may be slow, but god damn can it shred.
I think you can tell I love the IL-2 from my avatar :v

Il-2's are the only attacker I think twice before engaging. I have had the damn things take several bursts of British 20mm Hispano 1943's and had none of their turning capability diminished. Also, having one behind you is terrifying if you lack the energy to zoom away.
Their tail section still remains a massive weak point. While harder to hit, any significant damage most of the time will snap it off and send it into a rather amusing flatspin.
IL-2 is love. Leave the bombs at home, climb up to 1.5km or so, enjoy shredding everything at your BR.

Highlights:
- Italian Tree, 2015
- P-47 Razorbacks, 1.49 or later.
- Early 109s and Do-17s, 1.47 or 1.45. Maybe later.
- 1.45, besides US tanks, will have a few new planes. Mostly DM fixes.
- Armed Canberras (8 x 12.7 version, 4 x 20 version, and others) "hopefully" for 1.45.
- B6N confirmed.
- Ju-88 variants soon (Spring)
- Pe-8 is in progress.
- P-51B and 51C soon. They wanted it sooner, but it wasn't a priority.
- Arado 234 might get dive sights soon.
- R2Y2 Cockpits soon.
- J2M and Ki-44 will both get about 4 variants when they're introduced.
- F6F-5 eventually. Maybe even the 20mm version.
- Ju-87 Gunpods (each carrying 3 MG81z, so 6 barrels, 12 for two pods) very soon.
All of those things sound more than amazing, esp the Ju-88 and the Italian tree.
One bit has me hyped as fuck, though.
Ju-87 Gunpods (each carrying 3 MG81z, so 6 barrels, 12 for two pods) very soon.
12 MG81 mgs. That's 12 8x57mm rounds at anywhere from 700 to 900 m/s at the muzzle, per shot. Roughly 12g per bullet is right around 4 kg per second of fire. That's the equivalent of a little more than 2 Hispano cannons, at a similar round velocity but a far higher RoF.
Shame the ammo choices are probably going to make them useless. Any word on the MG rebalance?
R2Y2 cockpits? How about making a cockpit for a plane that has been in the game since it came out, and much more people have unlocked, like the Beaufighter?

I wonder what Ju-87s will get the gunpods; the D-5 would be OP as hell with them, and the lower tier Ju-87s would rival Hurries for seal clubbing.

So that means the B-57B for the Americans, and if we're lucky an upgrade to the T-160 cannons.

I thought there was a 2 x MG151/20 gunpod of similar size too. The thought of a Ju-87D-5 with one makes me twelve different kinds of wet.

It was one of the prototypes considered to replace the T-35, where ultimately the KV-1 was chosen
It was one of the prototypes considered to replace the T-35, where ultimately the KV-1 was chosen
I know that. It's just a silly focus is all.
Let's add the T-100 and SU-100Y while we're at it. They were both built and saw combat.
[sp]The saw combat concept is a bit iffy with Russia. Given their position and needs in the war, they had no qualms field-testing prototypes - the heavy tank trials was literally throwing the SMK, 2 KV prototypes, and 2 T-100s at Finland. Given that, the incidence of that was lower, but still real in Germany and Japan - which means we have every right to request the Sturer Emil. And throw-protoypes-in-combat was basically non-existent in the US/UK.[/sp]

That gap from Jumbos to T32 to M103 is kinda funny, but whatever.
[sp]Also, Awesomecaek, you called it with the Jumbos. You get a Gold Star.[/sp]
