Some people argued the new HD models looked comparable, but I haven't seen that at all outside of cherry-picked shots. The models look about the same with drastically increased texture sizes. Which really doesn't help a game already struggling on the optimization front.

It's important to remember that World of Tanks is 2 to 4 years (NA v RU) old versus War Thunder's relatively new Ground Forces. There's also a massive difference in engine, of which War Thunder's translated (mostly) well to Ground Forces while staying pretty well optimized. World of Tanks, on the other hand, is using a rigged up BigWorld engine (founded in 2002?) that can't keep pace. So it's not the most fair comparison.

None that I can think. Mainly because WoT doesn't have even proper antialiasing. Not to mention that the HD tanks look really horrible in the game when they are thrown into the "SD" maps and mixed with the non-HD tanks. Honestly WoT made a huge mistake when they decided that adding HD tanks from time to time was a good idea. I prefer the "all at the same time" option.
As much as I love WoT, I must say that it's so outdated graphically and dear lord the optimization in that game. Let's just say that I love the game, but it's developed by a group of monkeys.

I think the Tiger in WoT looks pretty damn fine to me. Don't even know why anyone bothers with the dick measuring contests between these two games, they're pointless.
Also the F4u-1a Corsair is quite fun, but good lord does it climb like a pig unupgraded. I got 4 kills in my first match with it.

I'm just saying. Tiger model itself looks nice as heck, but when you take it into most of the maps and without anti-aliasing it will start to look like crap.

Speaking of ships, let's talk about firing control computers. Gaijin has mentioned before they plan to implement radar, and considering that warships carry many [I]many[/I] more gadgets than a plane, it would be a logical choice to implement gun fire control systems.
Thing is, only the Royal Navy and the USN deployed firing control computers during WWII.
And as Taffy 3 proved, the Mark I FCC gave the USN's smallest destroyers a fighting chance against the IJN's superior, on paper at least, warships.

Sadly those rounds weren't used a lot. They fucked up the barrel slightly and firing the main guns disrupted all other AA guns.

There's a difference between being hit by a Destroyer's AA and being hit by Yamato's 46cm main cannons.

Not in WT terms there isnt. The worst visual damage your plane can take is the wings and tail detaching from the fuselage, which is what happens when you get hit with large caliber ship guns.

Ive definitely seen the catastrophic fuel explosions, but those 4 plane parts (both wings, tail, fuselage) always go flying out of it.
It's extremely rare, but yes, sometimes modules can vaporize. However, they often don't. Even on ramming your plane into the ground, which looks silly when the chassis just bounces around.
Most planes only have two major sections (wings/tail) that can pop off. All the landing gear, control surfaces, and trim sometimes does too, but that's about as far as War Thunder's damage system can go visually. I hope they bother to update it one day.

Yeah, it's so awful that it gets to use a 1954 Jet Bomber and 44/45 Jet Fighters that can outspeed everything against 1943 to 1945 Axis props.
America is one of the best nations right now, and aside from shit like the F-82E, I never remember having [I]any[/I] difficulty as them. They only really lack in cannons (which aren't important outside of Arcade.) They're extremely strong in most other areas, of which a huge part is due to so many retards playing it, which makes their stats look bad, which gives them hilarious BRs. It's the inverse of Japan, which typically has above average players, which makes their stats look too good, which gives them hilariously bad BRs.
The BR system is heavily influenced right now on player performance/life expectancy and armament. Actual plane performance is much lower, which is why the system is so very, very broken.
And here I thought America had the most OP loadouts at pretty much every rank. Not to mention the BR most of their planes have. :v:
The Wildcats are pretty bad tho too, not just the F82
Everything else ranges from great to OP (why has nobody discovered the F84 being so much better than the F80C?)

And even then at 6.7 the only thing that can catch you is the MiG-9/L (which nobody players either??) so it's not an issue
