Haven't played this in a while, really like the hit cam thingy they added to tanks, really helps see where you hit and the effects of it.
Only question is who is the single green guy I keep seeing on my team?

You're automatically shoved into a squad with one other guy (you can disable this shit in the menu)
If they kill something you damaged, or you're near them when they get a kill, you get "teamwork" money which is basically pocket change
It's the K-14 you guys are actually waiting for, and that's not in the game yet.
Went for a dig in my reference folders..
Streamlined gunpods? Yes please.
Can't get onto the Dev server, keeps saying I need to activate my account.

That means the test server isn't open to public.
It was open only for two brief periods since 1.45 testing began, always just a several hours.

Is the gun pod made of M2s or M3s?
I've always wanted to play a airplane-shooter-game, does this live up to it beliefs or is it rubbish/not worth the download?
Well it's not gonna cost you anything to try it out

Probably M3s, but realistically it would be M2s, since they didn't change the main armament to M3s until the second model of the XP-82/ P-82B.
In case anyone forgot:
14 AN/M3s:
16800 rounds/min
280 rounds/s

That plane is only good for head-ons and with that much weight added to it I doubt it can get its nose up to actually do head-ons
OK so, i bought 5000 gold today for an early Christmas present to myself...
The T-35, should i purchase Stalin's secret weapon?

Go low, and strafe ground targets while building up speed. When someone is foolish enough to dive on you because they don't consider you a threat, you should have a decent chance on being able to get at least a brief window to head-on, which should be all you'd need with that much .50.

SMK soon which is like a T-35 but, you know, not killable by Pz2s

SMK's cheap, he can get both.
SMK's cheap, he can get both.
T-35 not so much.
I'll get the SMK when it comes out and if i can wait that long, wait for the american tree premiums to be announced.

It's also pretty damn ugly IMHO

If you've got previous experience in flying war games, you'll probably fare better than most in the beginning. Straight up, War Thunder is unforgiving. I have tried to introduce at least three friends to the game, and none of them have stuck with it as long as I have. I've personally been with it since damn near the beginning, about two years give or take. You'll get frustrated and want to throw the monitor across the room sometimes- even often at times. But kills are so satisfying when you get them, and when you get good it gets even better.
Between you and me the beginning, that is the first two tiers, are the easiest and most fun. In Tier 1 it is mostly biplane dog piles and a few strong-arms who always start out and die out early. Tier 2 is where the challenge starts and from there on out you have to know your aircraft (or Nation) and start the long-haul grind for Jets. And right now Jets are like the top of Everest. Everyone wants to climb it and get to the top, but when you get there it can be a cold... bitter trail where many have never returned.
That being said, the flight dynamics are great, Gaijin rolls out regular updates, Tonks are a good change of pace (albeit a little dysfunctional and half complete right now), and god DAMN is she pretty.
Also if you're bored of grinding there's always Custom battles which have been fun. Good community, too.
[sp]STOP FUCKING READING AND GO PLAY. [/sp]
I hate grinding for the Ho 229
why am I grinding for an awful jet

because it's cool
and you want it
Ho229 is genuinely fun in simulator except for the fact at least me I can't see ANYTHING 90% of the time because you go way too fast and sharp turn removes wings, and the cockpit is utter and absolute bollocks.
So you just keep crossing the map at higher speeds than anybody else can achieve while squinting at the Maltese fields for the pixel silhouette of a Tempest.

None of those things sound fun except for the word "fun"

Well tbh that's just jets-in-sim problems except the cockpit issue I guess.
Christ, I thought plane balance was complete shit. KV-1 ZiS going against a Tiger, lol, no thank yoooou. Time to not touch tanks again until US is out!
I'm not even going to mention the fact that I cannot repair my tank even if my gun barrel is a little bit red, I become useless
fuck off, worse than WoT.
I actually like the Ho 229's cockpit. It's a bit hard to aim but you can actually see below you because of it's angle.

A KV-1 Zis-5 is actually able to destroy a Tiger II from the side and rear.

Perhaps if you're lucky it doesn't notice you with the modern time radar system Gaijin has going on, even in Sim battles.

The KV is a complete beast that eats shells for breakfast as long as you don't try to match yourself against higher tiered tanks like the tiger. If you do have to face higher tier tanks, don't expect to win a head on slug-fest.
