Okay whenever I get tailed by someone I can literally never shake him no matter how hard I try, as long as they keep on me I'm a dead man. How can I counter this?
In Arcade, just shake your mouse, you'll be impossible to hit (i'm not kidding, its infuriating trying to shoot these people).
why....WHY...ARGH THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR THIS
Just like they went from tabs to menus for plane modifications, crew, etc. I much preferred the tabs.

The honest truth is, there is no way, once he's on your six, consider yourself defeated.
After this happens, immediately dive and head towards your teammates, preferably in the most concentrated zone, shake around, make wild random movements (Waving up and down is a good one) and NEVER make a full smooth turn or pull up into the sky and hope to god someone on your team shoots him down while you're doing this.
EDIT: I'm sure someone here will point out Scissoring and other fancy maneuvers but these don't always work and I honestly prefer to turn myself into Bait than to put myself closer and closer to the targets crosshairs for a chance to outmanuever him.
EDIT: Ugh so many disagrees, listen, I'm not saying to adapt this tactic 100% but if you're new to the game, this is likely the easiest to understand and most likely to work for someone without the proper skillset.
Welp Ive completely given up trying to play Russian tanks, time to join up with the OP brigade and play Germans.
Literally have not seen the Russians win a battle in RB yet.

What are you flying and what is chasing you?

Scissoring only works if they're right on your ass at closer than 200m, it helps if they're catching you as well so you end up behind them after a scissor or two.

Exactly, this is why I don't always rely on such maneuvers unless I have no choice or am already at an advantage, shaking around and making wild random movements has got me out of trouble far more than pulling off scissoring correctly.
I'm really digging the new kill system. It's so well designed it just amazes me that it was thought up. Shot the wing off a B-17 in my 163 and a friendly trying to jip the kill away from me crashes into it, so then I lost the kill.
[editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
also liking the fact that repair costs for the B-24 were effectively doubled.
New kill system is okay, if someone rips their wings off like a dipshit you can still collect £200 for passing go on them.
I'm digging ground forces a lot so far. The fact that there is no health system right away makes it that much more real and causes a totally different style of play, I'm really digging it so far.
really glad they nerfed the 163's fm and made it so it can't pull 20g turns anymore, but they shouldn't have nerfed it's br as badly as they did. as it stands now it cant pull a turn more than 2g's if it's going over 700km'h, and if you bump your mouse when doing over 800km/h, your whole aircraft explodes. It's not really capable of fighting sabres as is.
Let me just say:
Whoever thought you should have to unlock the "parts" upgrade in order to repair anything on a tank should have been fucking fired from the development team on the spot.
That is all.
Other than the obvious functional stuff like parts, extinguisher, artillery, and ammo, I can't tell the difference in a tank maxed out with upgrades and one that's stock.
When you're researching a tank the usual path is parts->extinguisher->ammo->artillery. Sometimes you might want to get ammo first but I would say that only applies to a few special cases for tanks that rely on HEAT or have otherwise bad stock rounds.
In my first realistic battle I got 7 kills in a Pz IV. I honestly felt a little OP when I one-shot 3 guys that were all shooting me at the same time.
Does anyone know how to resupply your tank with ammunition in Simulator battles?
Does anyone know how to resupply your tank with ammunition in Simulator battles?
You can't. If you run out you're SOL.
You can't. If you run out you're SOL.
Thought this was ridiculous. During my first Tank battle this morning, I ran out of ammo on the reserve after like 10minutes of pelting at a T-34
You can't. If you run out you're SOL.
That's absolutely rediculous that I can't just run back to base and resupply my tank with ammo.
What kind of battles typically payout the most experience, is there any type that's particularly good for grinding.

the biggest pay out is going to be with sim battles but they're going to be few and far between and won't be fun unless you're a hardcore flight sim player with a $500 joystick setup. RB is going to be your best bet for credit and xp payout.

Any idea how sim battles work with ground forces control wise?
Any idea how sim battles work with ground forces control wise?
Exactly the same. I imagine they will put in gear shifting eventually.
I didn't think it was possible but the average tank player in this is somehow even dumber than your average WOT tomato.
Almost the entire team just sits and camps while they enemy takes the flags. Every. Single. Time.
Exactly the same. I imagine they will put in gear shifting eventually.
Shifting's in already. If you select one of the more advanced control settings it kicks in, and you have to manually change gears. Unless you're talking about something else entirely.
Anyone else use the 100 gold that the tank tutorial gave you to convert to not use the reserves?
Any idea how sim battles work with ground forces control wise?
exactly the same as RB. only real difference is the complete lack of hud and enemy target markers. Friendlies still show up with markers but the enemies don't.

The german reserve tank is actually really good, you're missing out.
Unless it's not the panzer 2 anymore.
What the fuck? They increased the battle rating of b17E so much that i'm going against top tier 4 props like La9s, bearcats, 190D and N1ks because of this one unupgraded piece of shit when everything else in my loadout is around 3.

It's still the reserve, but I hate rapid fire machine gun tanks.
Is there any way to lock your turret in a fixed position instead of having it follow your mouse? I know you can hold C for a cheap work around but I'd prefer it if I could just fix my turret facing forward and just hit a button for mouse control when I need to aim.
I thought this was kind of funny to do while test driving

why?
the early 20mm equipped german tanks tear the early russian tanks to pieces
