Yeah I must be confused, because I thought I only had one crew with a level 500+ but I'm in-game right now, can't check. Not to put any blame on Gaijin for me not remembering what the hell slot I'm using, but everything about switching tanks in this game is hella awkward.

So there was this review a while ago that got me to play Ground Forces, and it was mostly positive, but it talked about how there was a lot of camping and not a whole lot of movement in the more skilled of players. It cited instakills as the reason. Admittedly, I do best when I set myself up with a nice killzone and sit still, but I think I have a better hypothesis.
There wouldn't be as much stationary camping if [B]you didn't spawn within 10 seconds of combat range[/B].
This game is wasting itself hardcore on these "corridor" maps. They are likely spending too much time in-house developing maps, detailing them up similar to how Wargaming does their maps. This would explain why we haven't seen any new maps. In a tank game, you don't need details like that. Not a proper one. Not one where you stay in any given location for a few minutes tops. Not one where players can't complain about a lack of detail when the map is 80kmx80km and the battlefield itself is a 20kmx20km square. Let tanks use mobility, let slow tanks actually be punished from their slowness, give scout tanks that go 10-15kph faster than other tanks a reason to be played, remove corridors allowing for actual flanking and actual natural feeling open world combat, add [I]actual[/I] hills, etc etc etc. It just doesn't make sense. Realistic air battles feel astoundingly like IL-2, but WT:GF just feels like instakill WoT. It's an improvement over WoT, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't add up to the quality and believability that we see in air battles.

For instance, in a corridor, if your only option is to go forward, and your only option after going forward is to hope to instakill the enemy [I]on a diceroll[/I], you're not really playing, you're just facilitating a diceroll on your own life with the ability to aim. Arcade, despite being the most mind-numbingly stupid and simple mode (I enjoy it, honk honk); is their most popular by and far. So these maps are geared towards simple minded, short, fast matches with zero lead-in, thought, or even much of a drive.
These same maps populate RB and SB right now, which is terrible. We'll probably see much better in the future considering there's like what, five maps right now? And four of the five were made for Arcade.

I've lost to [Training Exercise] before because we had a handful of Meteor F3s versus F-86 Sabres. And when we somehow tied it all together and it boiled down to a 2 v 1, the enemy Sabre spent the next 15 minutes climbing in a straight line - and would only come down to dive on us if we went to land.

I have 40-60 FPS. It's solid, it never goes below that, I like it. Correction: it SAYS I have 60 FPS, but it plays like 20 FPS. [B]Why[/B]. My game in the past has always run War Thunder fine, regardless of settings, but now 3 months later I realize this is super annoying.

It was really that many less battles for the aircraft kills? I got the tank kills in like 1/3 the amount of time as I got the aircraft kills, and I was top of the scoreboard a lot of the time.

Actually, I don't think it's "be there", I got 53% for a match I fully participated in. I think it has some criteria for what it considers involvement. Sometimes if you have to kill someone who loves the P-51 "extend extend extend dive extend etc", the rating can go dangerously low despite the fact that you're actively "in combat" for the entire thing.

It's not. I play that way for safety.
It's based on how often you're in "combat" or doing stuff. You can't bind up a macro to fly sorties in straight lines nor can you quit quickly. I've only just fucking hit 65/70

I had a better experience with the KV-1s. They didn't instantly lose their entire crew because a 75 L/43 tickled the front of my turret. Aside from that, their ability to be slow as fuck, the overpuffed Arcade BR, it's not fun. Them being moved down to 4.0 did [b]dick fucking all[/b] to Realistic. I still see Panther/Tiger swarms 100% of my matches.
