I don't use the Steam version but honestly WT alt-tabs so smoothly and cleanly when not in a ground forces game (air battles are fine for some reason) just don't bother with the overlay.

Latest missions + Me 410 B6/R3 done. I had a little time before I head out to this Out Of The Ashes Celebration.
They even let you fly in a B-17, but I don't have $475 dollars laying around for such a thing nor would I feel excessively safe in one. I'll just take the $5 interior tour. :v:

KV-85 is suffering incarnate.
T-34-85 is a death angel shoved in a hot rod. It basically feels like cheating, and it gets two spawns.
Turret-based shot traps really work well in this game too. I've learned that the reason the KV-85 feels so fragile next to a IS-1 is that it the KV has a fucking massive flat plate under the turret whereas the IS's has much less surface area. I've also found you can usually cripple Panthers by hitting the lower-right side of the their mantlet.
I survived a ridiculously close stall maneuver only to find that the Ki-84 can maintain 450kph at sea level without an engine. This would have been good news if I hadn't been trying to land in one pass without that engine.

I said that everytime I try those it's around yaks, so no, if anything I'd be in a P38. Most times I try to be fancy is in 109s and such.
Around yaks never relax.
I just got an assload of pictures. There were a lot of trainers there, a few Japanese planes (!), a Helldiver, a P-51 Mustang, more trainers, huge boat plane I didn't recognize, and the luxurious B-17G via Texas Raiders.
Pro Tip: B-17s are far, far smaller than you think. And the interior, except for the waist/radio section, is immensely cramped. I conked my fuckin' head twice inside of it.

I think I found a solution for the launcher constantly crashing while updating.
Take the warthunder folder, and move it out of program files. I think windows 7s asinine file protection is causing problems with the updating process.
I've managed to update twice so far without a single crash after doing this. Before doing this, it would literally crash like every 45 seconds.

I too got to go inside of a flight worthy B-17 recently, you may have heard of it:

Sadly not the actual Memphis Belle, just the one from the original movie, but it was still cool as hell (and as tiny inside as you described).
No chin turret. 4/10 would not clap.
But yeah, the tiny, aggressive cockpit windows make the play look FAR larger than it is. They're actually extremely small windows and I'm surprised that they're all the pilot had for visibility.

As far as I can tell pretty much everything can one-shot kill or cripple pretty much everything else if you do it right. I am completely incapable of doing it right so I use the Su-152 like a lazy shit.
Hitting the driver or gunners hatch gives me a raging boner. It's so damn simple but I know how infuriating it is to lose so many crewmembers at once.

I think I might have to take back everything mean I've ever said about the type 99 mk 1, as well as the A6M2's machine guns
because I don't know what god of unholy luck blessed me, but I just hopped in my A6M2 in a BR 4.7 domination match, and proceeded to rip open the assholes of a ton of typhoons, thunderbolts, and 109s
got 7 kills, 2 of which were with only my 7.7's, and in every case where I had cannons it only took at most, 20 shell bursts to get the kill
I knew pushing out the A6M3 instead of the M2 was a good idea because just daaaaamn
