Fuck it I'll play.
I'd join in but I'm terrible and probably too low rank for any games you guy's would be playing. Also I play SB but I'll let you guess how good I am at it.
I'd be up for it, but can't SB. (I also liked the old system because there were no barriers and no thought in it. You could just play the game and basically not worry. This was back in the magical day and age when you DIDN'T HAVE TO UNLOCK PAYLOAD RACKS.) Do we not have a Steam group? I thought we did.
God damnit at least fly the peashooter with a .50 on it.
I dont have it. [editline]22nd June 2014[/editline] Regardless, our squad of 1 sabre and 3 P26s carried the entire match. The jets on our team were incredibly satisfied and did not shoot us down at any point whatsoever.
I'm in the same kind of situation as Mr. White. I'm shitty at everything, rank 5, and my most advanced plane is the second version of the first english bomber you get. [editline]22nd June 2014[/editline] I'm willing to fly into shit though
I just started getting into this properly and I'm having a tonne of fun. I don't think I'm doing that great though. My main problem is that I don't quite know the best course of action when someone is behind me firing. Everything I do always end in not really helping the situation. [editline]22nd June 2014[/editline] Also, are the servers the same for PS4 and PC? I play on PS4, and some of the people who type in chat seem to type way too fast for them to be typing with a controller.

In any other gamemode, just try and see what plane is shooting at you and play your plane to your advantage (dive if your plane can dive better, turn if your plane can turn better, etc).
In arcade, beeline it to your team furiously shaking your mouse around and jostling your plane like no tomorrow.
Aight, that's what I was mainly doing so I'll continue doing that.
I thought FP had a squadron, does no one ever play together? [editline]22nd June 2014[/editline] PS4 and PC players are on the same servers, for whatever reason. I think that a controller is a handicap but thats just me
I just played a game of arcade tanks by accident. And of course I was on the team full of mouthbreathers.
Holy shit 7v7 ground battles suck so hard, I keep getting put in them. 4th time in a row now...
Holy shit 7v7 ground battles suck so hard
Play RB they said. It'll be fun they said. [sp]It was fun watching the 5 MiG-9s (I got one!) descend down upon the rearming 234s like a pack of bees with inline 37mm autocannons.[/sp]

I mean, you can play with controller on PC as well, nobody is keeping you from not-handicapping-yourself.
I sent a squadron application to IFAP, also is there any way to buy more slots for a squadron?
Bahahahaa Playing on Carpathians in my Hetzer, come across a T-34-57 to my right. I swing around and bring my gun to bear, aim at his front hatch, and fire a single AP round which hits (at least visually) nearly exactly where I aimed. "No damage," the game reads as the T-34 returns fire, hitting me squarely in the front upper glacis and completely crippling my tank by knocking out both my gunner and driver as well as vertical gun traverse gear. He proceeds of the course of about 5 successive rounds to set me on fire twice, knock out my engine and transmission, and damage my cannon before finally killing the remainder of my crew, all from the same forward vantage with nothing to aim at but the front of what is supposed to be a fairly tough machine, all while soaking up 2 more of my rounds aimed at the his main armament and then coaxial machine gun port, respectively. Let's go over the numbers of this engagement, just to make sure I'm not going crazy and this was utter bullshit. I'm assuming an approximate engagement distance of 500 m as indicated by the necessary vertical shell drop compensation needed to initially hit him, though it may have been slightly closer: Hetzer: 60mm frontal armor at something like a 55 degree slope. This works to ~104 mm of effective armor. 75mm L48 cannon with PzGr39 APCBC rounds capable of defeating 103 mm armor at 500 m distance. T-34-57: 45mm frontal armor at 45 degree slope. This works to ~63 mm of effective armor. 57mm Zis-4 cannon with either BR-271 APHEBC rounds capable of defeating 95 mm of armor at 500 m distance or BR-271K APHE rounds capable of defeating 101 mm of armor at 500 m distance. Given these numbers, it would have been unlikely I were to get penetrated by the T-34-57, though my armament should have sliced through his armor like a hot knife through butter. I don't know whether to laugh or cry right now. I spawned back in again only to be spawn killed by an SU-122 from behind. My Hs. 129B-3 faired as well as anyone could expect on a ground strike map, taking one AAA shot to the tail and becoming completely unresponsive, slowly falling towards earthy death while being trailed by a blind Yak-9 that can't aim to save his life. At least we didn't win that mission, as the rest of the team weren't exactly what I'd call "winners" by any means. Can you tell that this has me a bit pissed off? I hope it's not showing...

Plus, T-34 front armor isn't sloped at 45 degrees but 58 degrees which gives 85mm nominal thickness which is within the randomized penetration range of L48 at 500 meters.
[t]http://warthunder.com/upload/image/TREES/japan_tree_eng.jpg[/t] [del]No Kikka ;-;[/del] APPARENTLY KIKKA THEN
[t]http://warthunder.com/upload/image/TREES/japan_tree_eng.jpg[/t] No Kikka ;-;
Though it's interesting to note that the J1N1-S and J5N1 are listed in white (as well as the Ki-27), which means we're getting those pretty soon? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_J1N http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_J5N Still such a shame with the lack of jets and all, but we are still getting prototype planes anyway...
R2Y2 is in which was a jet prototype. Honouraburrrrrrrr.

The entry-level Era 3 medium tank for the Russians. No APCR. I checked. A bit more research shows that the armor angling of the T-34 was indeed close to 60 degrees, though so is the Hetzer's front plate. This would equate to 85 mm vs 120 mm. There should have been no way that 57 mm Zis-5 cannon could have penetrated that. My lower glacis was hidden by the embankment over which I was firing, and I was fully head-on towards the enemy. We were at about equal ground, so he wasn't shooting down on me, and at most he can penetrate roughly 110mm of armor at best. My gun had similar penetration capabilities at worst. He penetrated 120 mm of armor five times, damaging my tank each time, while I penetrated and did damage zero times. It reeked of bullshit the second I realized it happened, and that the math backs it up is no surprise to me.
R2Y2 is in which was a jet prototype. Honouraburrrrrrrr.
But also originally a recon plane... Hey! It's the Ar-234!
No Kikka? Why do I see a J8N1 there then?
Oh shit I thought that was the J9, not the J8. Ignore me then I am a bad poster.
The important thing about that list is the Shinden is on there and that makes me happy for many reasons
Though it's interesting to note that the J1N1-S and J5N1 are listed in white
So what do the colours even mean? 'cause initially I thought the yellow ones were going to be premiums or something.
So what do the colours even mean? 'cause initially I thought the yellow ones were going to be premiums or something.
Not in game. White is currently in game.
I wonder what line the Kikka will come off of I have a feeling its going to end up as a low BR jet like the Yak-15 given that its historical performance was pretty shit

Everything I've seen leads to T-34 having 45mm of armour at 30 Degree's from horizontal, giving it 90mm of relative thickness. And the 58 degree's (if from horizontal) would make relative thickness of around 53mm of armour, but from vertical gives 85 so I'll assume that.(But it's still 2 degree's off what I've seen) Also as a side note, Hetzers were quite renowned for having shit quality steel. Forgot where I heard that one from though.
