Funkerlied
That just sounds like a good name for a German funk band tbh.
aka let the suffering commence until you get rid of the fucking AWFUL stock japanese cannon belts
Moved from my fully upgraded J to my mostly stock Ja and the stock belts mostly instagib non-bombers.
aka let the suffering commence until you get rid of the fucking AWFUL stock japanese cannon belts
Normally I'd agree but it might be just me, but I was actually getting respectable performance out of the stocks on my A6M5 Otsu. Sure they wouldn't kill anything except fighters (which is true of basically every japanese plane gun that isn't on a Ki-45 or a 102) but they're not quite as awful as when I first got them, I feel Albeit HEF-T is still the best ammo in the game for nippon so there's always that but at the end of the day, it's still 4 bloody cannons so even with crap ammo it's going to do something mean to whatever it hits

almost makes me want to work on my german tree after I'm done with japan because axis jets are just way too cool even if most of them were historically garbage
I wonder how actually dogfighting with the 229 will go because how the hell do you aim at anything with no rudder.
They're also doing the twin Mk 103 version, not the quad Mk 108. Can you feel the tears of bomber pilots getting shredded from 1.5km out by these beauties? [t]http://www.focke-wulf190.com/images/mk103_1.jpg[/t]

[t]http://www.focke-wulf190.com/images/mk103_1.jpg[/t]
Are 2 x Mk 103s better than 4 x Mk 108s? I understand the Mk 103s have better velocity. Seems like its a balance between more ammo, slower expenditure and more guns, less ammo, double the rate of expenditure.
I'm totally fine with Mk 103s and that's why I'm glad. Lower rate of fire, better destructive potential, and great velocity. The Mk 108s dropping like fat plums and firing faster cause a lot, lot, lot of hit registration issues that are frustrating. [editline]2nd July 2014[/editline]
I wonder how actually dogfighting with the 229 will go because how the hell do you aim at anything with no rudder.

Yaw control In some flying wing designs, any stabilizing fins and associated control rudders would be too far forward to have much effect, thus alternative means for yaw control are sometimes provided. One solution to the control problem is differential drag: the drag near one wing tip is artificially increased, causing the aircraft to yaw in the direction of that wing. Typical methods include: Split ailerons. The top surface moves up while the lower surface moves down, to create an air brake effect. Spoilers. A spoiler surface in the upper wing skin is raised, to disrupt the airflow and increase drag. This effect is generally accompanied by a loss of lift, which must be compensated for either by the pilot or by complex design features. Spoilerons. An upper surface spoiler that also acts to reduce lift (equivalent to deflecting an aileron upwards), so causing the aircraft to bank in the direction of the turn—the angle of roll causes the wing lift to act in the direction of turn, reducing the amount of drag required to turn the aircraft's longitudinal axis. A consequence of the differential drag method is that if the aircraft maneuvers frequently then it will frequently create drag. So flying wings are at their best when cruising in still air: in turbulent air or when changing course, the aircraft may be less efficient than a conventional design.
tl;dr - Not Easily. Most conventional methods cause drag. No clue how they'll model any of this in War Thunder.

Any idea in which german tree the Ho.229 will be placed in?
Any idea in which german tree the Ho.229 will be placed in?
The end of the heavy fighter tree apparently.
Any idea in which german tree the Ho.229 will be placed in?
I really hope that it gets placed after the Me410B with the 30mms. It would be a great gift and it would probably make me play again.
seal clubbing in the 37mm flak death truck felt so wrong but felt so right
Reminds me of the shock and horror in Men of War Assault Squad when someone fields light AA guns. Halftrack, dead. Infantry, dead. Light tanks, dead. All cap points loss, what are your order mein Heer?
I really love the blenheim, I wish I had some golden eagles so I could get a talisman for it [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/41972545087738262/7DB60ECCB1CF9A7E4FDE312C8CAA7F4A6B953CFE//[/t] Also: [t]http://i.imgur.com/W3oiu5F.jpg?1[/t] Who controls that turret and how?
Who controls that turret and how?
FN-54 turret was pretty interesting, but never really caught on. Second picture is an earlier turret the Blenheim had. The one you're talking about was controlled via periscope. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/Io8uiG.jpg[/t][t]http://i.cubeupload.com/XAB6FQ.jpg[/t]

It's how Gaijin increase the average of lion income, statistically speaking. Then claim lion income is OKAY!
