I like how this game is playable at 300 ping with 25% packet loss.
So uhm where do I get that Tu-2S?
I love how Tu-2 used to be all it's now but more durable. These were the days. Basically a pocket G8N.
THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BOMBER NOT AN AERIAL SUPERIORITY FIGHTER.
Drop bombs at the start of a match, climb, scare the ever loving shit out of AFK Fw190s. The Tu-2 being able to atleast turn with if not out-turn most high-end props is probably the best part about it.
Only complaint I have is it used to face Sabres without stacking in a squad, and it doesn't anymore. Sabres are very easy to kill.

In the russian bomber tree :v:
Just some random historical plane related fluff that someone here might appreciate because I have nowhere else to post it and it's kinda funny.

fat, failing to climb in a late fockewulf, and tried to head on
maybe the average wehraboo in WT isn't that far off historic authenticity after all
Did they nerf the german P-47 in last patches? I swear it performs a lot worser than it used to be.
Did they nerf the german P-47 in last patches? I swear it performs a lot worser than it used to be.
No, they buffed the P-47. It just has an actual chance of overheating now.
No, they buffed the P-47. It just has an actual chance of overheating now.
A little nerf in the turn and roll response. Overheating isn't a problem, just open the radiators to fully open and stick prop pitch to 100%.
The buff is that it's now an actual high altitude fighter instead of the fighter with a deadweight turbocharger.
P-47 is the pain train without brakes

heavy but massively powerful
Best plane to learn with a joystick. It punishes you so hard for your mistake you'll cry blood, sweat AND tears!
11/10 plane. Would be anally raped by mistakes again.

Hopefully we get more interesting shit like the Kikka, IL-28, and Ho 229 - and not stuff that's been floating around/leaked from Dev since forever.
Also, I think this adequately explains what I was feeling last night.

Ju-88 with twin mounted flamethrowers under its tail:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/JRKnDxn.jpg[/t]
Apparently, some other aircraft also had flamethrowers, such as Do-17s and even a Fw-190 F-8.
These flamethrowers had a range of about 100 yards, and the main purpose for these defensive flamethrowers (the Fw-190 was for offensive use) was to obscure the vision of an attacking pilot with a cloud of smoke, fire and oil.
Edit: Here is the version for ground attack, the GERO variant. Unfortunately the diagram is in German, which I cannot read.

Plane-mounted flamethrowers. Gaijin, pls.

RB Match, all the enemy players dead, two dumb bots.
Man, look at those 50+ soft ground targets everyone could soak up for mad RP. NOPE LET'S BUM RUSH THE B5N1 AND KILL IT TO END THE MATCH GG NO RE.
Fuck these guys. The one time I was the only human player alive, the last two bots literally committed suicide before I could parade around in my veritable wasteland of happiness.
Oh well, I'm making Tupolev proud:

Meanwhile, exactly THREE NON-DOUBLED MATCHES LATER. (From 0.)

WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS BALANCED?
Kurwa Kamoflage is the best Tu-2 Camo. It's a shame the S-59 doesn't get a DPRKAF skin.
Anyone playing who wanna team up?

I'm cry.
Finally researched a new plane. I go into a match thinking, "I'm gonna shit all over these reserve peashoo-" Caught on fire instantly
I then proceed to down 5 planes in my P-26A reserve.
Confidence sapped and confusing win-boner achieved.

Arcade is incredibly random.

What level of competence is required for one to play realistic?

Learn how to take off without crashing.
More seriously. Be patient, get the height advantage and don't go head first into a clutter of allies and/or enemies.
If you do this. You're pretty much set for RB.
Also, I just learned you can change armaments when landed at an airfield :v:
What level of competence is required for one to play realistic?
The most important thing is to know the role of your plane, alongside it's strengths and weaknesses.
A couple of examples; Don't use the P-51 as a lawn mower, as it is a strong high-altitude plane. Don't use the FW-190 as a turnfighter, since it's a much stronger BnZ plane.
Try not to do head-ons unless you're damaged with no hope of getting back to the base, you can easily withstand the enemy plane's fire, or your armament has a much longer range.
Don't dive too fast or your wings will come off.
Don't waste ammunition, especially in planes with low ammo counts.

All Russian Fighter bots have this issue. It's comical, really. :v:

They are mining for stalinium with new drill technology.
Some Cheeki Breeki thought the TB-3 needed better armament so they swapped out a 2 x 7.92 DT turret with a fucking 37mm cannon.

They really should forbid drinking at the drawing boards.
