I always get put against Japanese planes with a P-51 and against British/German planes in a F8 i think it should be the opposite way:l

I've had non-stop Ruhr and Berlin whilst using the P-51.

Lucky you. I only managed to get 2kills in a match where almost all of the japan planes stalled and were sitting ducks

I wouldn't necessarily call fighting D-9s and Ta-152s lucky tbh. 30mm cannons are a literal pain in the arse.
Japanese RB matchmaking is weird. You're in an early war plane, yet you fight against P-51's introduced in 1945.
Luckily the P-51 has a insane dive speed. You can go around 750-800km/h in a dive without breaking your wings
Okay, fuck this game. I lost my 2x to a round where i was killed by friendly fire in military exercise hokkaido and the team was full of F4U-1c's

Thats cause Japanese players are bitter vets at the game, they're really good and got Gaijinned by their dumb automated BR adjustment system and that's that.
I have a question about the PBJ and its 75mm cannon: In RB which ammunition is best for hitting pillboxes? There were occasions where each shell type would either do nothing or completely obliterate the pillbox on a direct hit (Still using stock 'belts', so I have 50/50 HE and AP)

Wasn't the P-51 introduced in 1942?

I think AP would be better in penetrating the bunkers.
Could be wrong though, since I haven't tried the PBJ yet.

It's the AP one iirc, whichever one is fired first and isnt the orange-tracer one.
Wasn't the P-51 introduced in 1942?
In Europe. They weren't introduced in Asia until 1944, where they were used as escorts and for photo reconnaissance. They became more common after the war in Europe ended. So 1945.
anyone got any tips for killing bombers in this game? I'm trying to hit the engines but they seem impervious to my guns

Aim for the base of the wing. What kind of gun are you using?
anyone got any tips for killing bombers in this game? I'm trying to hit the engines but they seem impervious to my guns
Make sure you kill the gunners, otherwise being near a bomber is basically a death sentence. I've had good luck loading a belt with lots of HEFITs and incendiaries and firing in the general direction of the middle of the bomber, that way you'll either ignite the payload or the fuel. If you can set it on fire you'll have a much easier time, especially if it's got lots of engines. Setting them into any kind of spin usually does the trick. All you'll have to watch out for is idiot teammates trying to steal your thunder.
Wasn't the P-51 introduced in 1942?
The P-51B (or as it was called, the Mustang Mk1, because it was designed for RAF use) was like, january '43? The P-51D-5/20 we have in game atm is mid-44. D-30 is post war but it doesn't have any of its post-war upgrades (like M3 machine guns) sooooo...

Damn, that'd be a really nice way to upgrade and differentiate it.
Alas, we have three nearly identical copies. Just like the P-47D.
Dear Diary;
Today I learned that it is possible to accidentally kill friendly bombers if they happen to fly over the zone you marked for artillery bombardment.
(Will try and upload demo.)
This just happened while I was test flying the Japanese F-86 with infinite ammo 'cause I was excited to unlock it soon and I wanted to see if I could make a carrier landing with one

I like to swoop in and peel off then repeat, aim for the engines and the wing base, avoid gunners.

ram them in the wings
I want droppable fuel tanks for the P-51

You're gonna be pretty happy when you learn the difference between the P-51B and the P-51C.

I think I'll stick with info-scrounging and grinding. :v:
Aim for the base of the wing. What kind of gun are you using?
okay, thanks. just the default equipped 7.7mm ammunition for the browning MGs, should I be using something different?
okay, thanks. just the default equipped 7.7mm ammunition for the browning MGs, should I be using something different?
If you can, load APIT, since it'll wreck stuff and set it on fire.
As suggested earlier, go for the gunners first, then engines/base of the wings.
Another suggestion is, if you have the altitude advantage. Dive on it, and try to get in on the side of it at an angle (around 50-80 degreee angle).
Most bombers have rather bad covering fire from the gunners at that angle.
Unless they have ball turrets like the B-17. :v:

Armour piercing is secretly not working as it should right now so just use the belt with the most AP.
I was driving my T-70 from the east spawn on ash river to get to B when I hit the road barrier in front of the bridge going 44kmh. It killed my crew, flipped my tank 2 times off the bridge and exploded...

Killing an annoying following fighter by dropping a bunch of delayed-fuse bombs has got to be one of the best feelings playing this game
I have some sick joy of killing pilots while leaving the plane perfectly flyable. I also favor rear quarter passes to shoot the pilot and not the plane.
