The Russians and their unknown motivation for playing on the English-only - Games

the same reasons americans queue on korean/chinese servers because they're literally retarded

I can say why Russians play EU server (because, as it is hard to say, but i am Russian dota-player, but, i hope, you'll never find it out in-game). So the main reason is that RU server has fallen after the first TI4 updates so it doesn't work stable and dc's some players often. Also it's ashame to play with Russian kids and so on - it's like lowprio without lowprio >_> And, of course, ping for European part of Russia is lower, than to the Ru-server at most. Ah, and another point that Ukrainian and Belarussian players more often play EU server (especially Ukrainian after some politic issues between countries), because they think they're more Eu-citizens, than Russians. Sry for bad English, but i hope i brought my thoughts properly.

I don't mind foreigners. Hell, I don't mind assholes! What I mind is when they insist on not speaking English. I'm fine with you joining me with 300 ping, I'm fine with you enjoying the game, I'm not fine with you killing my game by speaking in Russian the entire time and not knowing English. If you're going to play on English servers, learn English.

The language options are only a [B]preference[/B] which sometimes gets disregarded by the matchmaking system.

I didn't mean "English" servers, I meant North American servers because the most common language spoken there is English. You know the part where you choose North American West, North American East, etc. for your servers? You won't get matched with someone who hasn't chosen the same servers as you. Language preference is also what I was referring to, but yes, that does sometimes get disregarded.

The Russians I've laned with have been good players, so I don't mind. I've noticed the three major countries/continents on earth: US, Russia and South America all want the rest of the world to speak their respective languages.

We're all speaking English anyway and English is the native language of hell of a lot more countries than Russian or Spanish/portuguese/whatever the fuck they speak is.
