Does anyone remember the name of that wad that lets you play as duke, quake guy, bj, etc?
Trying to find it again but I have no idea what the name is.
There is also a submod for it that adds Kyle Katarn from Star Wars Dark Forces 1. Not sure where to find it

I remember downloading a version of it from somewhere at some time.

Samsara IMO works best with the zandronum source port, the mod has a few extra features you won't see in ZDoom or GZDoom. Like unique weapon pick up icons for each character.
However you can't see every Character in the newgame menu because of some sort of menu list limit. Type Spectate in the console, and rejoin as who ever you want.
Hey Terminus, if you still post here, will Samsara get updated again? Last time I tried, it doesn't work on the latest dev builds of GZDoom.

He's encountered some problems with the mod that are out of his control as of late. That, and he wants to focus on other projects.

This is a developer animation, it will not look this robotic in game nor have the small pixel errors. It is to test the concept of the ripper switching out its barrel, and I am very pleased.

This is a work in progress reload for the M16 from DNF2013, the Duke3D mod. The singular gloved hand is from Bloodshot and I have yet to edit it out.

Okay, now for the promised write-up of how I animate.
I am not a professional, I am not even decent. Real talented people will kick my ass any day of the week. I don't know how to actually sprite and I just kind of muck around with stuff, so with that being said; curb your enthusiasm, because there is no special magic. My work honestly stands on people far more skilled than me, from ID to 3DRealms, Raven, to community members like Mike12 or PerK
You could use plenty of programs but I use Photoshop CS6 and I enabled the timeline view which was made for the entire sake of animation. I animate with a lot of movement, I actually don't have a lot of unique drawn frames/images, typically 3-4 and sometimes even less. I just take those drawn frames and I move them around, along with the hands to get an intended animation. Sometimes I'll rotate parts or make some small edits to fit things but generally I'm really just moving sprites around.
You'd be surprised how easy it is, and how far you can stretch it. Your brain fills in a lot of info and honestly the movement from one frame to another isn't that big of a deal if it looks good, infact the transition from one drawing to another is really about height, I find mostly. Like with the Duke Nukem M16 or Pistol, there is no transition frames (besides the ending of the M16).
I just literally swap to the next image, but I try to make sure the height makes sense, because your brain fills it in, its all about getting as much detail/motion in as possible, with my limited resources, while tricking my own eyes/brain. By having things logically line up with how they should go, you don't notice how choppy it may be in its reality, because your brain just fills it in.
For anyone wondering, its really not that hard to get into, only took me a little bit; its really a lot of movement and some image editing and tricky usage of layers at some points. The biggest tip I could give anyone is to get forceful, try new things, don't be afraid to do messy edits like rotations or blurs, because if done right; it will look entirely fine and won't be noticeable, or in-fact with rotations, just sort of unavoidable.
Also try to separate things as much as you can. The M16's original sprites were obviously all one image, but I'd manually rip off the hands and magazine, make them separate layers and do my work. Its pretty much something you need to do. Don't be afraid of "hack" methods too. I did not draw an entire pistol slide for the pistol's reload, I just really duplicated its slide and slide it backwards, it looks awful without the hand, but with it, it looks great because it looks like the slide being pulled backwards by him. You don't need to always literally do hard work, if creative work gets the same result.

Like Tuskin said, it's probably best to just use Zandronum. Samsara is primarily a multiplayer project, so using the multiplayer-focused source port will generally get you more options and features. I know it's kind of counterintuitive to use Zandronum for singleplayer play, but I can't think of a lot of maps and mapsets outside of maybe Putrefier that wouldn't work well.
Like Izzy said, the situation with Samsara is completely out of my control--a whole bunch of little problems have built up to the point where the entire project's just blown up in my face. It was my very first major project, too, so I can't even say some of them were unpreventable--some were just me being a dumbass.
I'm very sorry for the disappointment, but barring a miracle, it's probably best not to expect any updates anytime soon.
Anyone? I'm considering switching back to Win7/8 if I can't get my fix of Doom.

Win10 hasn't been officially released, so there's not intent to support it. They'll probably add support for Win10 when it's been officially released.
In fact, I think I remember a post asking this very same question as to why their sound wasn't working in a pre-release Win8. Then support was added once Win8 was released.
