So with more concept art gradually being released in that thread, along with [url=https://vimeo.com/117437076]this little thing,[/url] I get a mix of RAGE, Metro, and some weird attempt to be dead serious. Exploring the concept of humanity barely holding on against Demons wrecking Earth and bringing their hellish reality with them is cool and all, but I wouldn't even realize it's Doom. This previous concept is absolutely nothing like Doom besides the base idea, like an extreme example of a reboot that doesn't understand anything other than "DEMONS INVADING, GO SHOOT THEM."

I hope mick Gordon does the soundtrack. His style would fit the game so well.

The only two generic subsets it's missing is a faster, lighter automatic gun (rectified in Doom 3), and a high power, once-off, super accuracy gun. That's about it. (And that's kind of nitpicking since Doom originally had no chaingun spin-up and could also blap it for 100% accuracy on the first shot.) I can't really see them fucking with it too much.

But I'm pretty sure it's impossible or would take a hell of a long time to do. If they were just direct ports of the wads tno style, that'd be cool too though.
One of the Wolfenstein devs made a program to convert Wolf3D maps into the idTech 5 map format. But Wolf3D maps are a lot simpler.

According to the DoomRPG mobile game, UAC was founded this year :v: [editline]18th May 2015[/editline] There is an itty bitty UAC logo at the end of the video under the date and time for the conference. You can also see one on the Revenant's chest piece. Seems like they changed the logo again. It is still a triangle like in Doom 3, but there is only a circle in it instead of 3 triangles and a circle.

Anyway I hope the new DOOM is good, Wolfenstein: TNO was fantastic but I suppose it already had strong foundations in the form of RTCW. DOOM has a lot less to build from.
That wad thing would be so fucking cool. Imagine it was customizable and let you put the original enemies or swap them with doom 4 shit too. I still want a level editor for doom 4, but given how painful RAGE's tools seem to be I seriously doubt it especially since Carmack is gone.

Thicker armor on the player which might fit with the 'double-jumping power suit' info, the Revenant technically seems like a re-imagining of the same concept as the original, and what little you can see of the blurred background seems to be usual tech base affairs with the super shotgun and some sort of cavern or lesser hell with the revenant. If this is how they're advertising it, combined with last year's tweets from the private showing, I think it's gonna be giving Black Ops 3 a run for its money in some high intensity action (unless, of course, it's 2016).

Even tho he's more fleshy now I like that they kept the showing guts in the stomach like in doom 3, I always liked that about doom 3's revenant, even tho the whole condom skeleton thing was pretty weird.
