It is part of that pack! Which is still hurting for a name right now. Berserk might be a pair of like, gauntlets or something to make these fists even crunchier, not sure yet. I've been contemplating an altfire for these fists too, might be a wicked kick to punt monsters away, jumping and kicking will deliver a downward thrusting jumpkick that lets you bounce off walls and monster faces, because walljumping is cool. If I do that though, I might swap out the shotgun's altfire as that pipe swing is... lackluster. also the pistol was too bland so after talking it over with some other folks and getting feedback, this is how it behaves now: [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8380892/WEbms/shooty bangs.webm[/vid]
goddammit you incredibly talented motherfucker when are you releasing this? GMOTA, as cool as it looked, didn't really catch my eye since I'm not much for medieval-y vibes, but this I will play the absolute shit out of
The Community's Arsenal or that other guys "Combined Arms" sound nice in my head.
So, I've been working on an update OP since it obviously needs an update, here are a few of the banners I've made so far, what do you guys think? [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/CUQZNA7.png[/IMG_thumb] It will also contain an updated WAD and mod list, link to various sourceports and where to buy the games, a section consisting out of maps and mods made by Facepunch, focus on the latest title, etc. If the OP is fine with letting it get updated by a mod or something, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll wait untill the next thread. Main banner will obviously be V2 if it can get updated before the next thread. [editline]yes[/editline] Here another pic [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qYIHYwW.png[/IMG_thumb]
This is awesome. I apologize for not making a new OP, I promised to a while back. I think someone else made a banner for that too, so I feel really bad :v: I'll do a new OP soon if I can find the time.
Why I gave the plasma gun a beam alt fire that used 10 ammo.
And I think that's also why Brutal Doom replaced the Pistol with some sort of SMG, if I recall.
I wouldn't mind if they did the multi-eye thing again with the Imps in the new Doom installment. [t]http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp316/Wild_fury222/Doom%203%20Images/Doom3_imp.jpg[/t] I always liked that, found it very cool-looking.
should do if wolf is anything to go by. afaik the days of that weird disintegrating corpse effect are over.
Yeah, nowadays games like these are sensible enough to have bodies be persistent, whereas others tended to try and push the envelope a little too much, meaning that having the bodies delete themselves was a necessity to free up memory and maintain a proper framerate. These days we tend to have way more than just 1 or 2 gigs of RAM so we have the power to keep a good number of ragdolls and gibs in the level, although yet again we still have some games that try to be too flashy and thus make the bodies disintegrate after a short while. Dragon Age: Inquisition is guilty of such a thing, although certain ways of killing enemies in that game make it justified, namely when an enemy is burned to ashes, frozen and shattered, or fried by lightning like an egg that's been in the pan for way too long.

As for a release date, I ain't sure, I still gotta finish up a few more weapons, the berserk, blur sphere replacement, and either find or make a HUD.
They need to bring back the shoulder spikes just so doom guy can rip them off and use them as disposable weapons.
With the hand-to-hand fatalities i'm imagining shit like ripping off a Revenant's armor hard enough to cause their flesh and bones to break apart as it collapses in a messy pile, or cramming a Mancubus' own flame cannon down its throat for some deep-fried from the inside-out.
Doom had fatalities?
Brutal DOOM does and it seems like everyone wants new DOOM to be like that [editline]20th May 2015[/editline] which is actually pretty cool
so long as there's some incentive to do them a locked door to a secret room with a retina scanner to open it a zombified security guard a chainsaw well this is a no-brainer "come here boys, i've got something to say!"
Brutal DOOM does and it seems like everyone wants new DOOM to be like that [editline]20th May 2015[/editline] which is actually pretty cool
Last year's tweet storms of details for the game had 'karate moves' and 'melee combat being a major part alongside the gunplay', tearing enemies to shreds with fist, boot and chainsaw and supposedly getting health bonuses for them. Amusingly Sgt Mark even claimed Doom 4 was basically ripping his ideas and making a golden goose out of his work because of how 'similar' the details sounded to be.

Does anyone know of a good music replacer for Brutal Doom? It's boring gibbing everything with Wolfenstein3D's music playing in the background.
Does anyone know of a good music replacer for Brutal Doom? It's boring gibbing everything with Wolfenstein3D's music playing in the background.
Doom Metal's pretty good.
i liked the aesthetics of doom 3, but god no i dont want that imp it looked way too martian-like with the bland grey skin tone and the massive amount of eyes on its sharp head structure its not even recognizable until it started throwing orange fireballs at you at least the d3 hellknight, albeit with the same bland martian color, looked creepy with its incredibly small eyes placed near its mouth
Honestly, as much as the movie sucks, I believe the creature designs in it are fucking fantastic. A great medium between the classic color schemes and the Doom 3 shapes. The semi-classic style imp I made once took a lot of ideas from it ,'specially the head. I wanted to get it into Doom 3 but the proportions are too different :s
i once made a classic-style Imp for GMod use by taking the D3 monster and modifying it [t]http://files.1337upload.net/impz.jpg[/t] [editline]20th May 2015[/editline]
The semi-classic style imp I made once took a lot of ideas from it ,'specially the head. For some reason that reminds me of Killing Floor. Must be the face.

Thank you though, with all of my projects I wanna make sure the weapons feel good to use. Also regarding fatalities, they're fine as long as they're quick. If we look at Brutal's fatalities, they're incredibly drawn out long enough for people to rub themselves over it, whereas I've heard Doom 4's fatalities are all very snappy, like you reach out, split an imp's head open with your hands, they fall over, and you move on all within a second. As long as the animations don't break the flow of the game, they're fine to me
Considering TNO had a system where you could pick up heavy weaponry from large enemies for a short amount of time and people seemed to like that my guess is that they'll do the same thing here where you can literally just rip off a shoulder cannon from a revenant and fire with it a bunch of times.
That would be quite lovely. Perhaps tear off a Mancubus' cannon and graphically roast a horde of Imps into black crispy bits, etc.
The only incentive fatalities should have is gore galore
That sounds a bit more like the Serious Sam 3 fatality system. If it's quick and snappy like that, that'll be cool. Really keeps the pace up, I think. Incentivizes fatalities more elegantly than Brutal Doom does, too. (BD just incentivizes it by giving you health for it while making you invulnerable as you do it, which, in my opinion, is a bit of an quick-patch way of making players want to do it. Not the smartest way to go about it.)
I could go on for quite awhile about how much stupid shit Brutal Doom does, and how I exasperated I feel with Mark spinning his goddamn wheels and refusing to wrap this project up properly and just move on. But instead I'm just gonna say this Brutal doom? More like brutal DUMB Damn, razor sharp wit there
You mean you guys didn't just watch the happy days bdoom trailer and say that looks cool and move on? You actually played it?
