You guys keep mentioning Blood. And I keep wanting to play it. Were there any modern ports for it made?
We almost had one. Almost. :suicide:
I just want a speed/thrash metal soundtrack. I hated Doom 3's soundtrack.
Doom 3's soundtrack was fucking cool. Rhythmic melodic ambient sounds? Machinery around you just happened to sound like music? It's fucking incredible. I wish it was done again since.
You guys keep mentioning Blood. And I keep wanting to play it. Were there any modern ports for it made?
The source-code was never released so that's a negatory. The closest thing would be Transfusion but it's not that... good, and I think it's still only deathmatch.
You guys keep mentioning Blood. And I keep wanting to play it. Were there any modern ports for it made?
No modern remake, just the original game with expansion packs. http://store.steampowered.com/app/299030/
No modern remake, just the original game with expansion packs. http://store.steampowered.com/app/299030/
When will they release a modern and functional port of the Shogo: Mobile Armored Division game by Monolith? ;(
No modern remake, just the original game with expansion packs. http://store.steampowered.com/app/299030/
When was Blood added to Steam and why was I not notified.
You know, with the Revenant being one of the first publicly-revealed enemies of the game, I wouldn't mind a [sp]Club Doom secret level[/sp]
No modern remake, just the original game with expansion packs. http://store.steampowered.com/app/299030/
It ain't right to buy old games on something like Steam. You need it free as a bird from GoG, like it was when it was new.
IMO, six bucks which will never go to the original developers is pretty steep.
IMO, six bucks which will never go to the original developers is pretty steep.
Not like Steam will give it to them either.
(I am honestly not sure if this was officially licensed or not, the 3D Realms logo is on it but WHO KNOWS.
It's kind of a weird situation. The most reasonable explanation I've heard is that either GT Interactive (who were 3DR's publisher at the time) or Sega (who had licensed the game for Saturn) licensed/sub-licensed the game to Tec Toy (Sega's long-time Brazillian partner, and developer of a lot of Brazil-only ports to Genesis and Master System) without 3DR's knowledge.
I thought Trent Reznor did a damn good job with it. A shame he didn't get to do the soundtrack to Doom 3, though I do believe he was involved with the title theme.
Doom 3's soundtrack was by Chris Vrenna (a former NIN drummer) and Clint Walsh, who you may know as the alt-rock band Tweaker or for their work on the cartoon Xiaolin Showdown.
I always loved quake 2's soundtrack. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but god damn every track in that game sets the tone so well, while keeping its own distinct style in every track.
Okay so, more weapons: [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8380892/WEbms/different%20recoil.webm[/vid] First off we have the Whiplash shotgun, with an altfire that lunges you forward before blasting you in the opposite direction sharply. [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8380892/WEbms/THE%20CORRECT%20FUCKING%20WEBM%20THIS%20TIME.webm[/vid] and an early version of Lilk's Axe, which is essentially the bastard child of Timon's axe and the firestorm spell.
The Whiplash altfire looks hella clumsy to use. Though it could have nice use when you try to back away from hordes/big enemies while still keeping them at effective shotgun range. Actually, wouldn't using it, and then turning a 180 cause the kickback to knock you further forward?
I like the look of Lilk's Axe.

So it's like a charged shot, then?
So it's like a charged shot, then?
Push altfire once, and as long as you got 6 shells, you'll do a little foreplay with your boomstick before blasting your hot payload all over the monsters. [sp]I'm not sorry for posting that[/sp]
When will they release a modern and functional port of the Shogo: Mobile Armored Division game by Monolith? ;(
I bought a copy from GOG and fixed the no music and crashing bug myself. Want me to send you my fix?
When will they release a modern and functional port of the Shogo: Mobile Armored Division game by Monolith? ;(
I'm sure I've had this working on Windows 7 a few years ago. Hardest part is getting the main menu to render the text. I'm gonna try it again, Shogo is a cool game.
For whatever reason, Shogo runs best in windows 95 compatibility, at least for me. Put the installer in Win95 compatibility mode too.
For whatever reason, Shogo runs best in windows 95 compatibility, at least for me. Works great with a DX7 emulator http://dege.freeweb.hu/ - dgVoodoo2
copy files from MS folder and the DGvooodoo file, open the dgvoodoo file, go to Directx Tab uncheck dgvoodoo watermark, open the launcher, click Display, select Dgvoodoo wrapper and resolution
Sorry about that, here's the fix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qj3tif9w94mln9e/AM18.dll?dl=0 Drop that into your Shogo, and replace.
So I got inspired by what the DOOM Facebook page posted earlier: Apologies about the file format + YouTube compression.
My eyes..... are bleeding :suicide: If the new DOOM would look like this (retro), I would kill myself.
Hes allowed to not like old graphics.
Hes allowed to not like old graphics.
Its not that, that is the problem. Its that the first two games of a series with (currently) only three games are retro with old graphics. Not only is it just a disrespect to the work put into those games and a lack of understanding, but its a disrespect to Munchkin who was re-creating the trailer for a game we all are very excited for, using the graphics of the older games that all of us love. Its disrespectful, simple as that.
