The textures in HACX are also not as versitile as Dooms, but then again this is also the first serious map I am trying to make.

I don't think I've really posted in this thread about the maps I like to make, but here it goes. I decided to get off my ass and make some more maps for Doom II after creating a few test maps to learn the ropes in Doom Builder II. I've got this idea in mind for a tech base with an outside area that also has a cave, which has yet to be made. Just thought I'd post some of the stuff here. All of this has been done in about two days and I'm still going to keep at it until I'm happy with it. Do you guys mostly feel that Quake's weapons are lacking? How would you feel if they were Q2/Dukeified in terms of design/anims?

I kinda want to keep the tri-barrel configuration because I feel that's kind of iconic. How do I make a window display just the sky and nothing else? Not necessarily a skybox, I dont want to go that complicated, just an open sky

I wouldn't really mind a bit more quicker and twitchier lower-ranking enemies, particularly the imps and zombies, but Hideous Destructor just amps everything in the game up to the point when its rapid changes make it into a total ass drag.

Finally giving Golden Souls a real college try. Quite enjoying it once you get use to the new weapons. It's so hard to unwork my mind around Double Barrel Shotgun = All Situations. Your starting over-under is more like a sniper weapon. The nailgun is borderline useless outside small hallways. The rainbow gun is OP as shit. And the AK is a good all-rounder up close. Really enjoying it and the secret levels so far, but [I][B]fuck platforming in Doom with the zero air control, holy shit.[/B][/I] My only other beef is the sparse health if you don't buy magic 80 coin kits (which I stock up on), and that the fire-flower things are wayyyyy too bullet spongey for how common they are. It's a common mistake to be using 1.8.02 from the dead webpage, instead of the actual newest build (gzdoom-g2.1.pre-1134-ga59824.) Phages (The imp-like monster) replace the Mancubus? ...The glass panes you can shoot out are actually Cacodemon monsters? ...The Mancubus-like monster is actually a Chaingunner? This makes sense as one of its attacks are chaingun cannons, but still ...That statues when shot will turn into said Chaingunner-Mancubi, albiet harmless? Man, Hacx is a weird TC!

I can't really get any logs because the piece of shit keeps going into 800x600 resolution and I can't copy all of the log.

The second one improves the combat and gunplay MASSIVELY though
