Heh, I actually stole some of the textures from Valiant and combined that with Community Chest 4 textures to use in my map.

Not to derail the topic here, but just a small little piece of content.
I mentioned a year or two ago, about remaking the blood weapons as close as possible for use in G/ZDoom as a modder's resource.
Now just like Duke's weapons, I'm working on it again, this animation is not 100% accurate to the Blood one (Mine recoils DOWN instead of Blood's UP) but I think it gives the same sense of power and speed and I am very happy with it.

Its really a swell job you've done! Curious about what projects you'll tackle next.
I don't know if anyone knows about it, but there's a PS1 FPS called Disruptor, it uses 2D things/3D environment like Doom (only I think the engine is true 3D since there are floors over floors and diagonal map elements). Has anyone investigated into ripping the weapon or enemy sprites? Playing the game, I could see someone finding good use for them. Cool almost 80's sci-fi action movie looking guns.

That's only the weapon sprites tho, no item or enemy sprites are in that thread.
Does anybody know of any texture replacers or anything like that that swaps out the regular doom textures to make the game look different?
I kinda want to find one that's star wars-y that would fit with that dark forces conversion

It's literally a bunch of quake textures scaled up without filtering and tweaked on a 512x512 texture so the filtering doesn't show up in blender.
I'm trying to repaint it pixel by pixel with a different colorset from the quake palette to get more of the look I want though.

The back of the gun and the grip aren't done (ejection port doesn't exist yet either) so I'm only asking about the barrel. Also keep in mind I'm working with a small range of grays from Quake's palette.

I think Clean works, the holes/headshield just seem too numerous/noisy for the texture personally.

I dig the heatshield but it's got a bit too many holes I feel? and yeah deffo make the pump wooden, it's a classic look
I also gotta say I appreciate you didn't make the sights glowy green, the blue is way more pleasant to the eye
is that for a quake mod, doom mod, or just for fun? 'cause these would be hella to use in a doom mod
