[i]Doom 2 The Way id Did[/i] is the long awaited sequel to 2011's smash hit gargantuan, [i]Doom The Way id Did[/i]. It comprises 32 fully texture-mapped mazes that endeavour to both look and play as though they've come from Dallas, 1994. From the very toiling hands of Sandy, John and American! The idea was originally kicked about by Jason Root aka Hellbent, whose passion for the game and knack for growing enthusiasm resulted in one of the most successful community collaborations in Doomworld history – not to mention an impressive collection of more than 100 total submissions. While not quite as successful as the first project in this regard, painstaking lengths have been made by those involved to ensure that D2TWiD is as true a doppelganger of id's Doom 2 as it could ever be. And we hope you agree!
We also hope you enjoy playing Doom 2 The Way id Did. Unless you disliked the game, in which case we'd be honoured if you regarded it with just as much contempt.

D2TWiD reserves the right to contain horrifyingly awful bugs and breaks. If you've found one, chances are it has been subjected to twid software's [i]Leave It In[/i]™ policy. If you think whatever it is you've found is just too horrendous to go unchallenged, however (the map cannot be completed. The map doesn't exist), please report it in here and we'll do what we can to correct the issue.
I found D2TWiD kind of bland when I played the earlier versions, to be honest. Maybe the full version will be better, gonna give it another go.
In general, I find Doom 2 to be kinda bland in comparison to the first one. A lot of the levels seem to lack character in my opinion. Like, I can easily recall the layouts of nearly every level in Doom 1, but not the second. And I played the second one first.
I'm completely the opposite, I find most of the original Doom's levels to be overly maze like without form and all blur together whereas most doom 2 levels each have an identity of their own, even if it's a gimmick

I liked Doom 2's levels more than I did Doom 1's, but man does Doom 1's music ever outclass Doom 2's. I actually found myself stopping in the middle of a level just to listen to the music.
I've always thought D2's levels weren't as interesting to look at, and some of them you can't even get an idea of what they were supposed to be other than "a collection of rooms for gameplay" I mean yeah Doom 1 has some of this as well, but you can usually get a thematic idea of what they were going for better than you can in D2
If it wasn't for the DBS I probably wouldn't like Doom 2 as much as I do.

Is it just me or do all the friendly marines in Brutal Doom 1.9 use nothing but assault rifle?
If I recall correctly, I saw one use a rocket launcher at some point. I think the chance for them to only have an assault rifle has been majorly increased to compensate for the better AI.
I don't think I've gotten one in the newest version that was using anything other than the AR. You can probably take a look in the code to see if they're still in or not.

Adding to what E.C.S said, make sure you load Brutal Doom first. If you use the drag-and-drop method of loading mods then you have to drop the brutal19.pk3 onto the gzdoom.exe and not DoomNukem_BrutalMod_Test3.pk3.

Judging from the addon, it's more likely you only need DoomNukem_BrutalMod_Test3.pk3 and not brutal19.pk3.
