Does it have basic brightness settings like most console games? Could try upping your TV brightness/gamma too.
It does, but the brightness ranges from pitch black to can't see shit. Upping my monitor's gamma worked, but still, I can't believe they thought this was playable.
What are the best wad makers/editors and where are the tutorials? I must make a rust wad.
What are the best wad makers/editors and where are the tutorials? I must make a rust wad.
I generally use SLADE for editing wads. As for tutorials a quick Google search brought me to the ones on the ZDoom wiki, although the tutorial set you end up choosing to follow will depend on what Source Port you want to make the wad for, since they tend to vary wildly in scripting languages and such. [editline]15th March 2014[/editline] Oh, and guess what I broke down and bought a couple of months ago? [t]http://i.imgur.com/TfvnqPa.jpg[/t]

In other news, got Doom II for $3:
Brutal Doom in one pic [t]https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-9/1463545_410096542460676_761919833_n.jpg[/t]
I looked through the EXE of Doom 64 Ex in search of the silly messages that are displayed if you stay dead long enough. I found ALL of them!
AT LEAST YOU PLAY BETTER THAN KAISER! THE LEAD DEMON VANQUISHED YOU! THE DEMONS GAVE YOU THE BOOT! HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH? YOU LAZY @&$#! THANKS FOR PLAYING! LOOK AT ME! I'M FLAT! OUCH! THAT HAD TO HURT. I PLAY DOOM AND I CAN'T GET UP. WOW! LOOK AT THOSE DEMON FEET. TRY AN EASIER LEVEL... YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT. HAHAHAHA!
GOTYEY
Also "We are working with Steam" So this confirms (the obvious) that it will be on Steam.
Aren't all the Doom games on Steam?
Aren't all the Doom games on Steam?
That is why it was obvious, but it was the first official confirmation.
I just wanted to pop in to say that Doom 2 is the best god damn game of all time. That is all. Carry on with whatever you were doing.
I just wanted to pop in to say that Doom 2 is the best god damn game of all time. That is all. Carry on with whatever you were doing.
I disagree, Ultimate Doom is better. [/opinions]
Doom 2 has the Super Shotgun, but it also has motherfucking revenants and archviles. I have more nostalgia / preference for the first episode of Doom due to growing up on the shareware.
I played the Plutonian Expiriment a while ago and it made me realize that I really suck at Doom.
I played the Plutonian Experiment a while ago and it made me realize that I really suck at Doom.
Don't worry about it too much. Those are sadistic levels created by crazy mapmakers to begin with.
I disagree, Ultimate Doom is better. [/opinions]
How about we agree that both Ultimate Doom and Doom II have their unique qualities that make them great and more or less equal? Ultimate Doom has a bit better level design and music in my opinion but Doom II has the double barreled shotgun and more enemy types. (And not horrid level design and still decent music.)
I hate the level design in Doom 2, christ. A whole lot of random-ass architecture splattered everywhere.

Remove Revenants and game is 8/10... But now really I agree, Doom has the music and levels, Doom II added the challenge and the all mighty double-barreled shotgun.... BUT THOSE GODDAMN REVENANTS. I remember when I was a kid playing Doom III for the first time and when I reached the cut scene where you meet the first Revenant I, literally, quit the game because the frustration I had in the past. Fighting in open areas is one thing, but fighting them in hallways in Doom 3 was asking too much. Still, there will be always a place in hell for those Lost Souls, you bad coded bastards.
BUT THOSE GODDAMN REVENANTS.
For me it was always archviles. You absolutely have to have cover for them to not be able to hit you and they're quick and deal a lot of damage. Rude little bastards. Also chaingun guys. They're surprisingly irritating when they're in a place you can't easily attack them or there's tons of them an little to no cover.

In Doom all you need to survive was the shotgun and the chainsaw, after that just use the plasma gun and BFG if you want to kill everything even faster. The new enemies in Doom II are tough enough that you will need more than a shotgun, then is where the double barreled shotgun enters and then it turns in a battle of not get caught by surprises and surrounded by hordes of enemies who can take you down easily.
i would be fine with revenants if they didnt do so much damage / werent so aggressive to use their ranged attack
speaking of wads, i need some megawads to run through. i've played through Hell Revealed 1 and 2 and recently completed Requiem
hey, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened to those 3D models you made, all that stuff looked AWESOME, but then I didn't seen anything anymore. I was hyped for stuff like the cacodemon
