What would be some good level WADs to go with Brutal Doom? Equinox goes rather nicely with it, i've found; though some bits do get frustrating, like getting off the elevator to face the cyberdemon alive.
I think Beyond Hell and Earth was made for it, it's pretty fuckin schweet.

Hell Revealed 1 and 2 are pretty great with BD too

Does it rely on an older version, or am I doing something wrong i.e. the usual drop over method doesn't work?

idk though, I could get them into UT2k4 as well if my animator for the UT99 project wants to do them. Either that or maybe somebody with the know how could put them in Doom 3.

You should hand some of these models over to the TF2 Emporium. They'd love you forever and we'd get TF2 Doom Weapon mods.
I feel old fashioned because I want the new Doom to really be a super HD remake of the old games. For gameplay I would be okay with combination of D1+D2/D3 but I want to kill proper hellspawn. I know it's very early to say but already I feel the Cyberdemon has too much shit going on. Those 4 eyes, no hooves, too much lights and spikes.
Just take the original

and remake it with modern graphics and adjustments here and there. Same goes for the weapons. Don't make them look too futuristic.
I can accept change if the new DooM reboot alters the designs and stuff again. It's the game itself that will come down to scrutiny for me, unless something about the art style is off (like, say, Doom 3 'where the fuck's the duct tape on mars' darkness) or it goes for gore in a rather.. Tasteless manner. I mean, i'm a thorough Doom fan and all, but you never know what kinda shit they might pull in that regard.
I'm afraid of them going over the top in the modern direction instead of the Doom direction.

Also i enjoyed the new style, is still having the oldschool vibe mixed with modern one
L4D2 style gore and dismemberment would fit DOOM imo, but that's pretty difficult to do

I'd personally like it a lot if there were bullet wound decals. There's simply something off about shooting something and getting nothing but a splash of blood.
Well, I wouldn't mind gore of that sort. Hell, W:TNO had some pretty good gore indeed. But the devs might take it to uncomfortable extremes or something, which is the kinda thing I usually get squeamish at. I can't even properly watch any sort of horror movie or play horror games if they go into excessive / visual gore due to my imagination making it feel like it's happening to me, so.. yeah. v:v:v
I don't mind if they take a liberty hear or there with new designs, but if I can't recognize imps as imps and the pink demons as pink demons we're gonna have some problems. Look through the Doom 3 monsters, the only 3 that look like their original counterpart is the mancubus, archeville, and revenant.
I never liked the design of the original Imps, they were goofy looking. I felt like Doom 64 had the better looking monsters for the most part, and those were pretty close to the Doom 3 ones.

Doubt anyone would be able to help, but can anyone help me with SLADE3? It crashes about 2 seconds after I open a WAD.
So can someone say in laymans terms what Slade3 can do? All I've gotten out of it is that it can edit textures. Which is nice, but I'd like to know more.
If SLADE3 ever gets an editor on par with (GZ)Doom Builder 2, I'm switching forever.
Though I imagine DB2 getting a lump editor is more likely than that.
