After seeing the Pokemon one I decided to make this:
I personally like Risen3D with all the extra goodies and high rez textures, models, and sounds added, with custom soundtracks using music over at Overclocked Remix. But I wonder how many people will hate me for this.
I've been playing Russian overkill. Holy shit what is anything
I'm expecting disagree and dumb votes but why, WHY do people like Scythe 2 or wads similar to it? I seriously don't get how 50 cyberdemons and archvilles in one room can be considered "fun". I'd love someone to explain this to me.
because its challenging and fun

ProjectMSX is super duper fun Any good WADs?
ProjectMSX is super duper fun Any good WADs?
What, like MSX compatible WADs? TNT: Evilution Plutonia Experiment 1 and 2 The Master Levels Doom the Way id Did Alien Vendetta Hell Ground Whispers of Satan Nuts Non-Compatible WADs: Army of Darkness TC Aliens TC Return of the Triad Russian Overkill Samsara UAC Labs
ProjectMSX is super duper fun Any good WADs?
UAC Ultra and Back to Saturn X are perfect with it. It's like they were made for it. Project MSX is my favorite gameplay mod.
What, like MSX compatible WADs?
Anything that replaces weapons and enemies isn't going to be 100% compatible; all straight-up map packs will be.
Anything that replaces weapons and enemies isn't going to be 100% compatible; all straight-up map packs will be.
That top group of WADs that I posted are compatible.
good post
doomrpg is actually MP now! and works with doomrl arsenal
That top group of WADs that I posted are compatible.
Yeah, just saying, no need to actually compile a list if you just follow that logic.
Xub's has made pretty much the a-list of kickass WADs, good man. If anyones after something completely different, check out Action Doom 2. It's pretty neat, if a little flawed.
For those of you that use sikkmod, do you have any config settings you'd recommend? I'm using Perfected Doom 3, but things still look a little off.
nvm i need to update my gzdoom
So. Why is it that shit like this is exclusive to these cons?
So. Why is it that shit like this is exclusive to these cons?
So that people will go to them.
Anything that makes doom a bit more on the spooky side a la psx doom? I had doom on the playstation and vaguely recall it feeling spookier.
PSXDoom TC for gzdoom here: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?postid=1030816 And yes it is spookier.
Too bad Project MSX doesn't have support for my monitor.

No kick-ass metal, just water drips, computer drones, and that noise that pipes make when they're really rusty.
Thanks, it's weird because of all the different versions of Doom out there, I like parts that are exclusive to that version. ex. I like the darker maps, colored lighting, sfx from PSX Doom(there are even echos in open spaces), but I also like some of the higher res stuff and better water/skies from Doom 64, but both suffer from lowered monster count and even some just removed. I like the extra gore from brutal doom, but I don't care for the weapons changes.
The soundtrack of PSX Doom will never stop making me shit bricks. [editline]21st July 2014[/editline] Wonder if you can use a controller with GZDoom for this TC
Anybody know how to get rid of doomguy's face when using a mod's hud? I'm trying to get his face to go away without making all of the faces transparent in the respective wad.
I really hope they bring Trent back to do stuff for Doom 4 and can actually implement his work into it. His sounds for Doom 3 that he made were a miiiiillion times better than the end product.
I really hope they bring Trent back to do stuff for Doom 4 and can actually implement his work into it. His sounds for Doom 3 that he made were a miiiiillion times better than the end product.
Other than the shotgun and machine gun sounds not really.
Other than the shotgun and machine gun sounds not really.
Really the only sound from the only weapon sound I liked from the final Doom 3 release was the plasma rifle, and even that could've been better. The pistol and especially the shotgun sound effects are sooooo weak compared to what Reznor had, mainly because they actually sounded like what they were supposed to. That's just me, though.
So after being shown ketchuptest4 by Mike Tyson over in an In The News Node thread, I was inspired to start mixing and matching the addons that I liked to get the Doom I want. I haven't done any actual original work in the little compilation, but it makes me happy that things work fine when I'm just throwing things together. So far I have ketchuptest with all the PSX Doom sounds, Doom64 music over Doom 2's music, and WildWeasel's HUD(I actually did have to put some effort in here, I noticed that it was with reloading in mind, so I had to remove an if statement for it to display ammo properly. I also replaced the edited doomguy face with the original.). I want to use the PSX Music over Doom 1's music which will just entail renaming them, and I'd like to use the neat liquid effects from brutal doom but I don't know that it'll be easy to just copy them into another PK3.
Shoulda used Smooth Doom, m8
