Unless those animations would play much faster in whatever WAD you may be making them for (and presumably they would), i'd recommend saving the full pistol reload with cocking the slide for when the ammunition's emptied for your current mag plus chamber. Besides a little jaggedness with when your rotate the sprites over a little, though, they're pretty well-animated.

Yes the animations do play a bit faster in-game (at-least from what I seen visually, didn't do any kind of frame comparisons yet). Yeah I plan on cleaning up the jagged parts later on, thankfully they go faster in-game and its not as noticeable, but perfection is key. Thank you for the feedback!

Wow, I'm really glad you guys liked it. I just tossed it here as a joke to entertain people because I know we're dry on content; I had no idea it would be that pleasing. Thank you; I promise to post more work soon, I'm going more into the boring technical parts right now like DECORATE coding and some weapons that are just really not ready to be shown. but once the pistol is finished I promise I'll do a show off. But here, one more teaser image. This is a CONCEPT; this is not a functional hud but its how I might make it look. I am not happy with the ammo/magazine counters right now; and I think I might make it a regular number counter for the magazine. Hey doommarine23, the shell at the bottom right looks kinda wonky, curve at the base of the shell is different from the curve at the top of the shell, giving the different parts two different perspectives and generally mucking with your brain.

The problem is that its from the Doom Beta and its meant for ejecting out of a gun. Its not a flat shell, its angled; so I apologize for that. Its a placeholder and I'm not too pleased with it right now. (will still use it for ejecting out of guns)
It's obviously meant to be angled, otherwise one wouldn't be able to see the surface of the bottom and of the side. Taking a closer look at it, the issue might in fact be that it's too short, it just doesn't look like what a full size shotgun shell would look like at that angle.

if we're sharing stuff, I'll share something I've been working on too. For those of you that've played the latest version of my mod, I've decided to remove the flail shot and replace it with a firing mode selector for the arm cannon, tapping the zoom key will switch between a semi-auto firing mode with a charge function and a full auto mode that shoots metal bolts. I recently added a nice little visual feature where the darts ping off walls because that looks cool. There is nothing that actually looks wrong at all. If you ever need someone to see if the colors are acceptable, I will be here. I'm not the best artist (I'm better at modifying, and not drawing from scratch) but I promise I'll see if I can help out at all. Just drop me a facepunch PM.

I also figure out how to get your hud to work so I had to make due with the gzdoom alt hud. Was still a lot of fun though. can wait to get the the levels with more mobs of enemies so I can slice and dice my way through them. Keep up the good work!

Or will I have to do it in SLADE?
Sometimes I wish some of the talent that went into modding Doom would go into modding the Descent games. I'd love to see a source port with enhancements that isn't D2X-XL because the developer of that is a pompous ass who can't admit he's sometimes wrong. ("It works for me on my system, you must not have a good enough computer!" he said while publishing broken debug builds on his site for a month)

But like any other artistic outlet, I go: "man I have some really cool ideas for x" and then go play shitty video games for hour instead. Or I put an hour of work in, criticize myself into depression, and quit. Doom's still a pleasure to map in though, what with the pseudo-3D meaning you work on a nice and simple 2D plane.
