Can anyone recommend any mods in the same league as WGRealms? Anything that has something with that Blood feel/vibe would be appreciated.

A couple of months ago I mentioned taking the chance in a local Zombiewalk to try my hand at a Doomguy Cosplay well, it actually happened today. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9ZGDV1M.jpg[/t]

I loved doom I and II, Is doom 3 worth playing? Should I get the normal or the 'BFG edition'
Original is better at least to me, BFG has dubious quality control, is way too bright and thus ruins the atmosphere and gameplay design of Doom 3 as well. Apparently the extra mission(s) aren't that high of quality, and due to being on a new engine; does not support Doom 3 mods. It really comes back to you, pretend Doom 1-2 don't exist, Doom 3 is a re-imagining, still a fast paced shooter but with a lot of slow parts and atmosphere; with an actual story in play. Its a lot closer to playing a very dark and spooky/spoopy Half-Life. I love it to bits and it gets even better (for me at least) with mods. (some may call that cheating but I've owned it since launch); if you really have no interest in any of this and mods, BFG might be better solely because it is a faster paced experience.
I loved doom I and II, Is doom 3 worth playing? Should I get the normal or the 'BFG edition'
I would recommend Doom 3 but don't expect something like the original ones. Also get the normal version.
I think the best question is to ask if you liked Half-Life, mostly Half-Life 2, or if you liked Prey, as Doom 3 is a lot like a less polished version of those. By less polished, I just mean the flashlight wasn't implemented as well as it should have been, and perhaps to some people, the game feels a bit monotone. But it is far closer to those games, than the original Doom.
The Doom Aliens mod got an update last night. They're almost to version 7.0 now (http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45213&start=1095) it's split into two versions at the moment. First version has the new dismemberment system for the xenomorphs, plus new enemy replacements like friendly marines, synthetics etc which will fight the other enemy types. The dismemberment is pretty good so far, with you being able to blow off legs and limbs while the xeno is still coming at you. Blow off it's legs and it crawls after you, blow of it's arms and it tries to bite you, getting weaker/slower with limb loss. There's also a new motion tracker that's pretty cool. Version B is similar but has the latest arsenal weapons and some other features, but doesn't have the dismemberment yet.
I like some of the version B stuff but never been a fan of avp 2010's boxy pulse rifle Does it actually have sentry guns in version B or is that just a HUD element until they get implemented?
Alright, I'll check the regular version of Doom 3 out, I know what to expect, and I do love atmospheric games as well. Thanks!
I loved doom I and II, Is doom 3 worth playing? Should I get the normal or the 'BFG edition'
Personally, I enjoy it, but I think the general consensus is that Doom 3 is an alright game, just not really worthy of the Doom name. Regardless, get the normal edition. Like everyone else said, id tried to turn it back into a shooter, but in the process ruined the atmosphere they tried to build in the first place.

They're working on a handheld motion tracker you toggle like in Colonial Marines/Alien Isolation as well. The AVP 2010 rifle is weird, but I guess it's actually a different, later version of the pulse rifle. It was interesting to find out you're actually using a different kind of pulse rifle in each AVP.
Alright, I'll check the regular version of Doom 3 out, I know what to expect, and I do love atmospheric games as well. Thanks!
Maybe we can play the co-op mod sometime  Also I would suggest some mods later on that are graphical only (with some minor gameplay which can be changed at any time), its amazing how good Doom 3 can look with Sikkmod and HD textures
Maybe we can play the co-op mod sometime
How many players are supported in that mod? If it's plenty then there could be a Doom 3 party.
How many players are supported in that mod? If it's plenty then there could be a Doom 3 party.
Depends on the mod, I believe the best one is LMS; I can admit to being rusty about this. I believe it also depends on the map, I believe possibly up to 4 players, maybe 8 (?)
I would be in for some Facepunch doom co-op action.
I found Doom 3 kinda boring to be honest, but maybe if I give it a go again I might appreciate it more. Were there any working widescreen mods for Doom 3 made?
Doom 3 works fine on wide-screen, what is the issue you're having with it?
I found Doom 3 kinda boring to be honest, but maybe if I give it a go again I might appreciate it more. Also I'd be down for Doom/Doom 3 co-op too. Count me in if it happens :D
alright, I'm having a slight doom-modding problem and since there is no like official doom modding support forum that I know of I figured out that you guys may know a solution so, I have this graphic in a wad that I want to replace. However, instead of being a standard doom graphic, it show up in slade as "Quake gfx". Even though you can view/export this file without any problem, there is no option to convert image to gfx in slade. I tried "just" converting it to doom format, but nah it has to be gfx for it to work for some reason. Do any of you know how can I convert a pic into Quake gfx format?
Doom 3 works fine on wide-screen, what is the issue you're having with it?
It HAS widescreen?
Since this is the Doom thread, I figured you'd all find this recent eBay acquisition of mine to be relevant: [t]http://i.imgur.com/shvZHbs.jpg[/t] Just in time for the ninth anniversary! Seems everyone forgot about the anniversary, but I'm sure that was just a mistake!
