This movie's fucking atrocious but I can't bring myself to hate anything with The Rock and Karl Urban in it
Aside from the shit acting from some of the supporting characters, i think it was actually pretty good. Get rid of the Doom name and it would be an interesting movie that people would call another mediocre action movie.
God damn I wish TF2 had a center viewed shotgun and minigun as part of the official weapon lineup
Well, there IS a mod for the shotgun, but the dude who created decided to be lazy and not fix the animations after an update and the result is that the new ones are crap, with no reload anim (the shotgun just goes off-screen) and a weird looking idle position.
Oh shit remember Breakfast and Lunch with Mancubus? The dramatic conclusion

Music has always been a big part of my Doom experience. I'm not just talking about Doom and Doom II's soundtrack, but also music from custom wads. Whenever I hear any of those good old fashioned midi tracks I get nostalgic as hell, being able to remember almost everything that I've experienced when playing through those maps. Playing doom alone and online were big parts of my childhood, and I would spend every single hour I could playing it when I was a wee little kid. My wad folder was over 11 GBs untill my PC got a virus and I was forced to format the disc. It happened back in 2007 or something, back when I was still using windows XP, and I wasn't just a little bit reckless when it came to computers. Heck, I don't even know if I had any anti-virus software installed back then. After the incident I installed Windows Vista, and proceeded to rebuild my wad folder from start by downloading what I could remember. Of course, that wasn't a lot, however most of the wads I played back then were still played today, so I was able to acquire the more famous wads again through playing on Skulltag. I still have that folder today, now that I've upgraded to an absolute beast of a machine, and it sits at about 4 gbs. Anyways, I've gotta bit of track. I just wanted to share some of my favorite tracks, and I was hoping to see if anyone else wanted to share theirs as well. This song is freaking weird, which is why I love it. It gives away a really creepy atmosphere. From Zpack, Fanboy, which was one of my all-time favorite maps because of how amazed I was back when I first played it in 08. It's pretty cool, although gameplay wise it's a bit meh. I couldn't find the song, so I had to use this speedrun of it. This is from a rather new-ish wad, called Action Doom 2: Urban Brawl. Soundtrack was pretty dope, even though it isn't the usual dose of Doom. There's a lot more where that came from, but it's a pain in the ass to actually find the name of the songs, and even more so to actually find a version of it on the internet.

I'd love to play some doom wad roulette
I would be interested in your wad folder, would you be able to upload it? I'd love to play some doom wad roulette
Sure thing. I can upload it tomorrow, probably. I'm really struggling to find the right words, but some of the wads have most versions included, since I've never really bothered to remove the older versions, if this makes any sense at all.
I feel like half of the charm comes from the custom wad's music, and the anticipation of hearing the next song after you've heard the same one looped over like 5 times. Here's a few songs I've found and liked. Gave Reverie a recent playthrough after I found this track on doomworld and got curious to try it out. It's a pretty difficult wad that resembles the 90's style megawads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tKHLnxja4c I always loved the Memento Mori soundtracks. It's old as hell, (dates back to '95/96) but the songs are pretty catchy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0R8gaICzetQ RTC-3057 makes me think of Doom crossed with System Shock 2, including the music. It's a shame they only created the first out of the many planned hubs. https://soundcloud.com/julianhope/guardians Back to Saturn X is a series that has all-round well composed songs, which is essentially icing on the cake to a high quality project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6zCJOn6BKE There actually was a lot of hate going around for the second episode's soundtrack. Unfortunately I can't find many of the songs online (I'm tempted to upload some of them). But other than a couple of odd musical choices, I thought it was excellent, if not better than the first.

Speaking of music, I made an addon for GMOTA, 4 addons, actually. You can find it here. You'll need the original GMOTA_V0.9.5.pk3 for them to work tho. The largest of the bunch is 8 MB, and its a music pack. It adds about 152 .spc songs to GMOTA's piddly 24, bringing it up to a much nicer 176 tracks. Way better for a randomizer, honestly, larger pool means its less likely to chose the same song. Also made a small addition to GMOTA's hud in the way of adding numbers to the health, armor, mystic force, and sword mana. I prefer numbers over vague bars any day. Last one just allows more of the projectiles to cause bloodsplatter, and another add's blood back to the axe crash. Figured I'd let you guys know.

Some of these games you've ripped from I've never even heard of, so color me surprised AND impressed. I'll be adding some of these tracks to the main game.

The ones I grabbed are from A-E, literally 1/4 of all the games, though I did skip a bunch that didn't look rpg/fantasy/sci-fi enough, so there's probably still a good number to be gotten from there. Snes games have a lot of really good soundtracks, honestly. The DOOM .spc's were added as an Easter Egg, really. That, and I really like DOOM 1's soundtrack.

I want to add Site of Civilization but I'm uncertain how well it'll fit the mood of the action on screen.
I cheat on doom when playing: The Sidhe meant nothing to me, I swear
Rise of the Triad had a very good soundtrack as well, and I've seen a lot of wads that have been using them. Especially this one: I don't want to stretch the page any more, so here are two more songs in hyperlink format.

Anyone got some good weapon mods for doom ? These are fun to play with.
Anyone got some good weapon mods for doom ? These are fun to play with.
Russian Overkill.
Anyone got some good weapon mods for doom ? These are fun to play with.
Accessories to Murder, OSCJ Mod, Project MSX, Samsara, and DOomRPG/DoomRL are all great ones to play with most levelsets. GMOTA, Demonsteele, and Wrath of Cronus are great melee based mods, too. You can most either on Doomworld, the Zdoom Projects forum, or the /vr/ Doom thread.
Anyone got some good weapon mods for doom ? These are fun to play with.
Zharkov Goes To The Store is decent. Its essentially a weapon mod, but it also changes some of the text and most of the sound effects. Some weapon examples include punching turning into a wacky multi blow flurry of martial arts, with an alt fire where [sp]you rip your arm off and throw it like a rocket, only for it to regrow so you can do it again[/sp], the chain gun beocming an Uzi/Chainsaw combo dealy and the doom chainsaw becoming something meant to just push things out of the way(the pushing doesn't seem to work right with newer versions of ZDoom though).
Yeah I found Zharkov already by just googling random stuff. Do I need to do anything special to make these work or just drag them over GZDoom's executable ? Some of them give me an error during loading.
doommarine23, I was wondering, how is your Doom project coming along? I'm really interested in seeing how you'll be adding a narrative-esque experience like Wolfenstein: The New Order, how exactly are you doing that? Sorry if you've already posted about it recently, I'm just curious.

Basically, you're using the latest stable, but that lacks a lot of features which are present in the beta version. http://devbuilds.drdteam.org/gzdoom/ You can get the latest beta build here, they update a lot.
