-nvm I'm stupid, bought it-
Bumping this thread; the alpha is going great, so I made a video highlighting some of the updates Refract has put out.
Awesome, did you get into the alpha by backing it?
I backed the $50 tier, where it was only beta access. They messed up, and gave a code to be used for the Distance forums, but I plugged it into Steam and got into alpha. I thought alpha would be terrible, but no--it's so much fun holy shit. Even though there's like ~7 tracks now, I can still replay through all of them without getting bored.

I played a lot of Rush 2047 back in the day and I loved nitronic rush, so I'm really looking forward to this Oh by the way, a bit early I guess but is multiplayer playable? It's one of the big things I'm excited about so I'm just wondering if it's playable/working good

It's racing and reverse-tag mode (which I also got to play with the creators). It's on my channel if you wanna see
Refract hosted a multiplayer event, and Karmah and I joined! It was tons of fun, and I got tons of footage so I can edit and show ya'll.
Something new theyre working on.
[Insert amazing gif of portals here] Something new theyre working on.
The transition looks freaking amazing! It's one of those games where Refract just have so much space for experimenting with the genre - It's really great that they also take that opportunity.

Can't wait for beta update/map editor.
Yep, and so far, they've been doing a great job on the alpha. Can't wait for beta update/map editor.
I'm definitely enjoying the Alpha myself - I just need to arrange myself to play it some more :v:
I've never really been into racing games before, but this really piques my curiosity, especially that portal thing they're doing.
New alpha video
This was actually the first thing I ever participated in a KickStarter for, glad to see some progress on it.
The want is so high. When it gets on Steam for sale I'm selling all of my TF2/Steam valuables and buying a 4-pack, regardless of if there's an actual 4-pack.
Huge bump. The game is still in alpha (very close to beta!), and just a couple days ago, the level editor was released, as well as some maps from Adventure mode (campaign)! I'll be making a video detailing some of the cool features of the editor, but I've already made a couple tracks that I wanted to share. anyone who backed 15-50$ on kickstarter can now upgrade their game to the 55$ alpha edition and get immediate access.
Distance is about to go into beta very shortly! Devs said that this latest update might be the last alpha update. I made a video detailing all the new stuff from the latest updates to get ya'll hyped up for the beta. It's going to be a blast.
Looks pretty incredible.
It also feels and functions amazingly. Honestly, I think it should be out now cause it's damn near perfect for a release.
So hey, massive bump, but the beta's out! Check your humble store account for the drm free installer and/or steam key. And it's about as hype as I expected, looks fucking beautiful too, I can't believe it's running on Unity
Goddamn, the game is great. The portals were a great addition to the game, especially ones where you end up freefalling out of nowhere, AND that no gravity bit.

I have my key but steam says it's invalid and clicking on it says it's invalid. what do?
I have my key but steam says it's invalid and clicking on it says it's invalid. what do?
Make a thread about it here http://survivethedistance.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=7, and use the DRM free version in the meantime? Though it has no workshop support and no MP as it's already outdated
where do i find the drm free version? all i have on the humble page is the key.
If you bought the beta after they "released" it then you're not going to get it. You have to wait until the open beta. Which is totally fucking stupid btw
really? what the fuck. that's fucking dumb.
Why would they even do that? They allowed you get into the alpha after it released, even though that took months after its release/
