woops it's the second largest, but still the disparity is pretty huge

how do you know this?
I don't think that information has been released anywhere. GNM is kind of right in the middle of all the ranks so a lot of people assume it's the most common.

uh, source? reverse image searching just brings up reddit posts, and nothing from htlv.org
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
also that graph would probably be skewed because not every csgo player is going to take whatever survey they used to get this information
naturally the people that go on these sites are going to be a higher rank, so the higher ranks take up more on the graph
basically that graph is incorrect ;)
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
the most amount of people are probably silvers, everyone underestimates how many super casual people play this game, that most of the time cant even get out of silver

Yeah, I think it's from a reddit poll. And it's almost definitely skewed high. It's still good information (like the MGE-DMG jump is really interesting) but nothing definitive.
It's based on reddit posters ranks i think. So quite unreliable.

it's nice to know what kind of ranks are on reddit, but other than that you can't really make any conclusions from it
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
also unless a bot added them how do you know that they aren't lying about their rank?
My... my first ace, it was a 1v5 (or 1v4, I can't remember if my team was alive on the first kill)
It feels good man

How was this done ?
played two games today, dropped 30 bombs in both, got an ace in both, ranked up to nova 3
it was a pretty good day for cs:go
I hate those players who mute you and then say "i muted these two players" once every round like someone's gonna clap for his heroism or some shit
[editline]14th May 2015[/editline]
It's like Lmao dude great job you cant actually deal with human interaction in game GJ
I don't even have voice chat enabled. Not gonna listen to someone who constantly spouts nigger and other racial remarks.

you're not going to get far without communication
My first 10 wins landed me in MG1 and while I played a lot of css in the past I had no fucking idea what I was actually doing as part of a team.
I don't really think ranks are a huge indication of skill. I mean the difference between silver and MG might be noticeable but sometimes it's not. I've seen some pretty well coordinated silvers in the past and some really incompetent MGs(like myself) and eagles.
Well yeah, I've had LEMs in my side playing as bad as novas, and novas playing as bad as silvers (clear case of boosts) vs MGs, but the LEMs should maybe have the least bit of ability no? I mean, someone who plays long enough after this game has been released for a few years already should get some kind of sense about the game. I for example used to be (and still am every now and then) pretty clueless about map fluidity like where the enemy should be at a certain time, and clueless about where to point at. But with time, I improved that greatly, despite having a large sway of ability most of the times, one day or one round being a mega scrub, and other days and maybe even the next round, nearly doing an ace.
I'm still shit though but, damn.
And I'm not gonna listen to someone who constantly calls me a nigger faggot or something else.
I think vac bans should be nulled from showing up on your profile after 5 years.
I have no idea if these guys were legitimately their rank...I literally used a deagle the entire match.
[IMG_thumb]http://i.gyazo.com/d1fec2a6a938773bc7ecc01cf438b640.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
what did I do to deserve a dmg / le / mge lobby?
I can confirm ranks are a bit screwed today.
My last two games (Both SOLO queue):
First game 3 Global, 1 Supreme and 1 LEM vs 4 Supremes and 1 Global
Game after winning that one: 2 DMG, 1 LEM, 1 Supreme, 1 MGE vs 1 Supreme 3 DMG and 1 LE
what the christ.

Played office.
Played office.
last time I played office was a 34-14 vs my own damn rank, bit of a jump, especially since I lost most of my games since then!
Fucking deranked to nova master because my shitty ISP dropped my internet service for a good ten minutes in the first few minutes of my match.
Fuck time warner
Sometimes the deagle does work. (link because huge res)
Does anyone else get tired of Dust 2 being a 24/7 pick in community servers? It feels like I've been playing the same map for 14 fucking years or something.
Actually can anyone give me some pointers in this match I kinda want my games reviewed a bit more

One of the first and most noticeable things that you seem to generally do is not really aim at anything much of the time or you're aiming really low. You do tend to fix it up and use decent crosshair placement once you believe there to be a threat nearby so it's not too much of a problemalthough personally I would get into the habit of almost always being prepared, especially in MM (and especially AU MM) because there are a lot of people who will do things you won't expect, pushing smokes, pushing long even though the rest of their team is rushing B etc.
It's probably just personal preference since what you're doing tends to work most of the time going by this demo but I'd certainly want to get into the habit of keeping the crosshair placement in useful spots more often.
I'd like to praise the communication you appear to have by the way, although I couldn't hear the specifics so really, I don't know if you're actually saying anything useful at all but it certainly seems like you're being helpful to the team most of the time.
Onto the more specific things.
Round 3:
You knew one was CT and the bomb was being / was planted. You didn't need to try and peek the smoke into CT, could have just held the cross.
Furthermore, the way you peeked the smoke slowly gives them the advantage, they'll see you before you see them.
Round 6:
As you probably already know since your team-mates pointed it out during the game but you should almost always look around before just waltzing out of a doorway, especially in that instance since you would have been safe from behind if you were to look up to top mid and check it, meaning there wasn't much reason not to.
Round 9:
It's a relatively minor thing in this instance but you should keep your gun out and be prepared for a fight up until you know for sure whether or not you may run into someone.
Round 12:
I liked your activeness while holding the site here, rushing to help tunnel to help and or make the trade is great. Keep that shit up.
Round 18:
This might just be personal preference but I feel this was a bit too aggressive and risky, your team won the round anyway so it wasn't a big deal but I've seen many rounds lost against eco's for similar things.
Round 19:
You left yourself a little too open to both long and short by jumping out and checking long. The safer bet here would have been to just sit on site in my opinion, although really there wasn't much you could do.
Not the biggest list, sorry.
There were more things you could improve on, however I didn't have a whole lot of time to dedicate to this as well as a lot of those other things should be easy to realize what you did and what you maybe should have done.
P.S. We should play some ESEA sometime. :v:

I want a CS_Mansion server, from 1.6 til now it's still fun as fuck

I didn't even like d2 much when I first started playing it. Playing a shit game of d2 and then have everyone vote for it again for next game just makes me want to spoon out my eyeballs.
you're not going to get far without communication
Ever since I first started nobody was ever talking and I didn't think much about it since people just used chat or something. Wasn't before I was at MGI or something around there that I realized I had voice disabled for the entire time :v:
seriously just enable your voice chat it's not like everyone insults everyone all the time even (though its pretty close). Just mute the individuals that act like idiots, no need to mute everyone because of a few stupid people.

Haha I've fallen for that once. I use voice_scale 0/1 or something now so it still tells me if people are talking and I've forgotten to turn it on for comp.
About ranks, pretty sure valve said that half of players are below ~GNM and that like 95% of players are below ~LEM although that was before the VAC waves. I think they give out rank based on relative performance of various factors so that ranks are distributed along a bell curve(ish) so there are lots of novas but very few silver 1s and GEs.
Anyone know of some good guides to the basics of Cobble, Cache, and Overpass? Or should I just learn the callouts and get more experience with those maps?
