How does ranked work in this game? I'm asking to see if its better to play unranked for a while or can I jump in straight into ranked and not get stuck in some lower rating (stuck in a sense my game skill increases a lot while playing unranked but I'm stuck having to grind lower skilled games when playing ranked because I played ranked before I got better) aka is the system like in Dota 2 or no.

You'll rank up as you improve.

You'll have a rough estimate of where you're ranked but not an exact number. (de)ranking is random since you can't tell what your exact mmr is. Just hop into competitive right away, its easier to rank up in csgo than dota. You're able to have a larger presence in csgo if you're better and the enemy can't get fed beyond control like in dota. I have friends who never played cs before csgo but hopped into competitive and got ranked as silver 4, ~150 wins later they're around MG.

I got carried so hard and died almost instantly but that helped me to become better and better

Is it common to get a cooldown due to amount of players kicked? I was happy to get 'unlimited' access to competitive after getting my 10 wins and Silver IV, but now I'm stuck with a 24 hour cooldown, because I apparently kicked too many people ( one person out of three games and I didn't even start the vote ).

So last night I was playing on my other account which to be fair, is a 22 hour unranked that I got to purely just fuckaround on with friends. I ended up playing pretty well and the other team started calling me a cheater since round 1. After watching the match, I agree with them. Somehow I traced them through the walls, prefired places they were and and walled them constantly with the AWP, all without knowing exactly where they were, just doing random dumb bullshit and it somehow working.
