Counter-Strike: Global Offensive v4 "Tec9 is a meme gun"
Just played another game with a Nova 2 that dropped 39 kills against us Nova 1's
When can you stop saying that only "rank ranges" matter and start accepting that if you rank up, you are noticeably better than those below?
Hence why I want matchmaking to STOP PUTTING ME AGAINST HIGHER RANKS jesus christ is it that hard valve?
I an GN3 right now and I still will top frag on a regular basis even in GN4 / MG1/2 games.
That person is a higher rank for a reason, but not better JUST BECAUSE they are a higher rank.
In the group I regularly queue with, there are 2 GN4s, myself (a GN3), an MG and an SEM. We all do variably; sometimes very well, sometimes very poor.
Assuming better rank = better player on an individual rank to rank basis assumes that people perform 100% consistently, which nobody does.
Also, all these guides are useless because they all say the same thing.
"Hold an angle and wait for them to walk into your crosshairs."
These people making these tutorials don't understand that people won't just magically appear in the crosshair - they will either go past where you placed it, or duck, or any other random thing that makes it entirely impossible to predict.
Trying to shoot someone crossing a corner is impossible unless you're lucky/have godlike reaction time, have you seen how fast people move?
yes
the thing that you have to understand is that people don't move fast enough where hitting them is reasonably difficult. if someone is watching a corner where someone pushes out, if they just flat out push out the watcher has a direct advantage (and you can't dispute that, really, without some map based exception) as the peeker will be coming from one spot, albeit maybe a slightly different place and you adjust - versus the peeker having to find the watcher, then place and fire, and most spots people watch could be watched from many different spots
any tips for shotgunners?
shotguns/pistols are literally all I use
holy shit how do you do this :V
just learn really good choke spots and how to use grenades with those choke spots (in terms of offensive playing -know where people will most likely be and be ready to blast 'em, etc), roll with the Nova and Mag and you're good to go
Another game, another placement against people that can far outshoot me.
A guy on our team already left and the rest of this dumbass team won't surrender.

No, the peeker crosses the corner, before I can adjust my aim to head, he instantly headshots me.
This is for 95% of all the encounters that happen. Hence why I only want to play with people of MY skill not some godlike people who just have much better reflexes.

Then in that case if you miss the initial headshot go for any hits you can. Move, use cover, that deal. But you have the advantage when they cross out, and if you're watching it in cover, you shouldn't be getting dinked as often as you claim.
also, it helps to practice that sort of thing, or warm up with it.

I warmup for like fifteen minutes before the game, any more just makes me worse.
And yes, it is that much. If I even step out or peek, I get headshot 9/10.
This is what it's like at nova, everyone is incredibly good, I definitely don't want to rank up.
I wish to return to silver where games are fun and not completely one sided.

What?????????
anyway - think about why you got headshot, that sort of deal. did you peek really far out when watching? did you try to shoot while flailing backwards and end up spraying like a madman while running? etc
also, sensitivity is important. i used to play with an insanely high sensitivity - right now, i play with 3 at 800 DPI, but I was once at 2 at 400. lower it if you haven't. it'll help.
Tbh blazingfly from all of your ranting ive come down to a few conclusions. You either
a) dont know the map you're playing well enough
b) think aim alone should win games
c) dont actually play at nova level and deserve to be in silver
d) are really stubborn, not even listening to tons of much higher level players telling you the same thing
you get to pick which one is correct

comp isn't for you
first advice would be to swap the sawed-off out for the nova. It may not be as fancy of a gun but it does the job ten times better than the sawed-off, plus it can be used on CT side if you can't afford a mag-7 somehow
Isn't the Sawed Off higher damage? It's as fun as hell to one-shot people with it.
Isn't the Sawed Off higher damage? It's as fun as hell to one-shot people with it.
Sawed off is much easier to use than the nova because the nova requires better aim but, unlike the nova, it has it's range capped. Sawed off is pretty much only good if you are waiting for a ct to rush and can't aim very well.
I'm alternating between sawed off and nova in this game
nova is a lot better for long range kills and has less recoil, but it's nearly impossible to take down more than 1-2 people with it due to the long pumpback time
I still like sawed off better

If shitty novas ""oneshot"" you when crossing a corner you're doing something wrong.
I played vs low novas half drunk at a friends house using his high as shit sensitivity and without audio and all I had to do is expose myself and spray the guy down.
They aren't like the aimstars in LEM/Supreme that really do instashot you, so don't bs around and play with a pair, expose yourself and destroy them like you're playing DM, you're probably playing like a pussy afraid to die in the next corner.

30cm mousepad is just fine for low sens tho? Something like 800DPI 1.3 ingame or 400DPI 2.6 is more than fine to control sprays and get really good aim. If you're already using something similar to that then don't worry about it, you're doing it right.

its around that, i do nearly a 180 if i go from the middle of my mousepad to the edge, maybe a bit more

I bought one that is 87cm long. It's very, very handy.

If I peek, I die.
I have been peeking B tunnels and died to someone spraying an AK across while running through Dust 2 B.
If I rush out and shoot, they kill me before I can kill them.
Your perspective is skewed from too long in upper ranks, I'm just a regular person without insane reflexes and stuff.
You can probably know where they are on the map just by guessing, but when I guess I am usually wrong. Even if I do correctly guess, knowing where they are gonna peek me from doesn't help when as soon as they peek, I'm dead.
I have lost four games in a row so hopefully I'll derank to silver soon. And you've probably never met anyone that wants to go back to silver because they are able to play well and improve, but I do not improve at this game no matter how I try. I average four or five hours a day, maybe more, and am exactly the same as when I started.
(This is playing aim training, aim bots, matchmaking, aim servers, etc.)
pretty easily
infact, I just went 27/11 on the last game I played, top fragger
I just rush like hell and hope that they didn't expect my blitzkreig
aced twice last game :)
why the hell do i have to play in the casual reserves group if i want to play something other than dust2
i mean don't get me wrong i like dust2 but it's not the second coming of christ like people seem to think it is

ive actually legit never seen someone that wanted to go back to silver, congratulations
from what you've described, your problem is you're literally playing the game like cod. stop assuming it's about reflexes, most of it is map knowledge. learn some gay spots and sit in them, i promise you will have a much better time.
if you want you could share a replay of an average game, im sure someone would comment on what you're doing wrong

I have 250 hours of CSGO if that, and at least 50-75 of that are surfing.
On top of that I have been Gold for about a week IF THAT.
The difference isn't that I'm a high rank "too long". It's that you're playing like a dingus.
I need to put a sticky note that says "CHECK YOUR CORNERS" on my monitor. :(

Post a replay so we can see what you're doing wrong. The main thing is I assume from the description here is that you're on CT defending B. Why are you running into tunnels? Why do you think you need to get a kill? You have grenades for a reason.
You don't need reaction in CS to get at least somewhere to the MG ranks. Reaction time is heavily important for awping but it's not necessary to enjoy or be great at the game.
Also, I think I don't deserve to be at LEM and would like to go back to DMG but that's just saying I don't want to improve. I wish heavily to improve and what I need to do is practice grenade throwing.

Do it if you have to. On Dust 2 I was in a situation where a sneaky CT hid behind some boxes near T spawn after we decided to rotate back from B to Long. Two teammates ahead of me walk past without checking corners, I'm the last in the line and made sure to check everything and bam, saved the lives of 2 other people and not just myself.
IT'S IMPORTANT
That's why I stand in the open. While the enemy are busy checking corners I shoot them in the face from the middle of the bomb site

As far as wanting to get better, trying to derank to play against worse opponents kind of works against that.
