Please never use SG or AUG. They're the worst noob weapons ever.
Are you of one of those who calls everything noob if they get killed by something a lot? Because you definetely look like it.
I realize I'm a unranked baddie but the AWP is kind of a dumb weapon. Unlike all of the other oneshot weapons it doesn't reward careful headshooties. The only way you can fail at it is by having bad reaction time or by somehow shooting the dude in the legs. When I get deaded by a one deag or an AK 47 tap I'm like K, but when the entire pub goes 12/12 AWP and I'm the only jackass on both teams using a SG it is just dumb.
AWPs are only OP if you let them be. Flash, smoke, get close. Force them to miss a shot and then kill them. That or just hs them.

It barely awards anything for getting a kill with it and dying with it can give the enemy an advantage if they pick it up. All these tradeoffs aren't noticeable if you play casual but it makes more sense balance wise if you look at the bigger picture.
Basically it's not that AWP is dumb weapon, it's the fact that casual gamemode has shit rules. I wouldn't even play competitive that much if casual was basically the same except without rank and need to play from beginning to end.
I'd say AUG and SG are noob traps, but not noob weapons, they're viable on their own niches but they appeal to the new players because of the scope, which doesn't actually provide anything positive to an unexperienced player. Also their patterns aren't really that friendly if you play them cod-style
In casual you spawn with armor aswell, who the hell thinks that is a good idea?
Made a clip with knife kills, bad aim and awesome music. Believe it or not, but the rank was MGE/DMG when I did those before the vac waves.

Also the sg arguably has a really easy spray pattern, at least the vertical bit, it gets pretty crazy later on but by that time you should have gotten your kill anyway. The aug, it's a nice alternative to the m4a4 if you have the a1-s equipped but need the extra ammo. It also show no tracers when scoped so it can and should be spammed through smoke. I guess in the end people don't use these weapons too much because they are just used to ak/m4 and can perform better with them.
Please never use SG or AUG. They're the worst noob weapons ever.
Haha noob's such a 1999 term. The game's evolved a bit since then mate.
The AUG spray pattern has always been a lot easier for me to manage than the M4's so I don't see what the big deal is
Spray patterns on both SG and AUG are glorious as long as you scope and practice it a little bit.
My advice to you is to do nothing but play on headshot only servers. You will get your arse kicked to every corner of the map, until you don't anymore. It's several orders of magnitude more difficult than a random deathmatch and a great way to brute-force learn aiming and reflexes. Seriously, abstain from matchmaking, go play headshot-only servers until you can keep a close to even KDR, then when you do go back to MM you'll be way better than before.
Funnily enough I usually do way better on HS servers, and it actually seems easier than a FFA. Because everyone else has to aim for your head and can't just spray your body down while you try to line up the HS. I started on HS DM but switched to regular DM because in real games you're almost never up against someone that is also aiming purely for the head for as many bullets as it takes to land the shot.

Don't run around in DM like an idiot, but actually preaim where you think people are. Then move on to regular DM and try to go for HS only. it's really difficult, but if you need help with your crosshair placement, it's worth the trouble.
Does the AK have a ridiculously large and variable spray pattern or am I just bad? I've been winning a lot more by dropping it and using literally anything else (M4A1, Galil, SG 553, AWP, P90...)
Is it just me or is Nova a bit absurdly strong?
It's OP when all the pellets hit, which is up to RNGesus (although imo it should be like tf2's competitive-settings shotgun spread)
This reminds me of one game I played in silver elite. The enemy team was only using AUG on CT and SSG on T, this was the most annoying game I ever played. Not only because of the enemies weapons, but also because my teammates (who were a party of 4) kept on calling them noobs, and when they saw that I used the AUG I got kicked :(
I love buying autos just for all the shit the enemy team gives me
Autosniper is an improved rifle in a lot of situations, I'm surprised it's not abused more in pro matches where slow pushes are a thing and with autosniper you can two-shot anyone
I'd imagine it's mostly a money issue at a pro level because they're so good with the normal rifles that the increased damage + scope isn't worth the extra $2000 odd cash that you'll throw away and give to the enemies if you die.
Just something I made out of pure boredom.

It's hard to be accurate with the AK on the move or spraying >3 bullets. [editline]12th May 2015[/editline] speaking of the ak, i got this yesterday
Please never use SG or AUG. They're the worst noob weapons ever.
Easier to control spray pattern. Longer range. Amazing to burst fire with. Higher armour pen than standard rifles. Can 1 shot HS like the AK. Just because it has a red dot scope doesn't mean omg call a doody faggotry, learn the weapons of the game and how effective they are before you start being a cunt. Saying that you're likely one of those people who bitches about the P90, Autosnipers, AK 1 shot HS, Rek Tec's Reck Train and Juanathan Deaglus who can 1 deag you down long while strafing.

Also, inferior skins.
Yeah, but the SG costs a smoke more than an AK. Also, inferior skins.
Who cares, I can awp people with this fucker through mid doors. :v: Plus if you're riding the money it doesn't hurt having it as an upgrade when the other team is rocking M4s.

You will most likely find the ak with its superior 1 shot hs more fun and better to use than the m4 ect.

remember guys, smoking kills [vid]http://s1.webmshare.com/MAvnd.webm[/vid]
Hyper Beast dropped a few days ago after only buying four chests in my lifetime. Best part is, in the beginning I didn't even realise how lucky I got.

That's why it's the most useful against rushes of some sort where the enemy doesn't peek all angles
