It's been very, very good to us this year. Probably best E3 I've ever seen.
I haven't watched E3 before, because I couldn't find any places to watch it.
So this is my first time watching all of them except nintendo and ubisoft unfortunately.
But yeah, this was great past few days.
are the protoss good? please dumb it down to black-white morality thanks my tiny brain can't understand it any other way
They butted heads and were all enemies to each other in Starcraft 1, Protoss were the kind of aliens that blow up planets to eradicate the zerg, careless about the terran population that lived there. Eventually, the Zerg got a bit too much and the Terran and Protoss had an unspoken alliance, with some "friendships" between characters. Later, there's some bigger threat that threatens the whole universe or whatever in this upcoming game, so I'm assuming they all team up or something.
Great conference
no man's sky is kinda weird to me. yeah, everything looks really beautiful but what are we supposed to do? is it just exploration? what's goin' on?
Honestly, I'm looking forward to it because I have no expectation for it beyond "you can fly and walk around a randomly generated galaxy"
That alone, just exploration, is enough to interest me. Anything else on top of it is great.
The reasoning they stated was that they don't believe that they could actually meet the expectations of the HL3 hype that has built up for so long and don't want to crush people's hopes.
To be fair, that's sort of understandable although I think they could make it decent if they actually did release it.
People won't care that much, we just want a fucking closure.
enjoyed the conference and the discussion in the thread. it was fun guys!
finally word 2007 man can be put to rest.
Valve's gonna come out any second now, guys!
Aaaaaany second now!
omg valve didnt even announce half life 3 start the riots
You can see subtle disappointment in everyone's faces.
That was a damn good conference. Didn't have the announcements of say, the Sony one, but it was actually fun to watch. Day9 is a great host.
so thats that. e3 conferences are over

A great e3, fallout 4 has stolen the show from day one, but a lot of great things to look forward too

From his Twitter profile, it sums him up pretty well:
Learn lots. Don't judge. Laugh for no reason. Be nice. Seek happiness.

Why would they though? They're getting enough money from DotA 2 and TF2 and their unstructured development team management wouldn't ensure people would work on another Half-Life anyways.
That's true, but if that stops the development of one of their most popular series, I feel like something is very wrong with their system.
PC conference was definitely good. Was an overall good E3 as well.
Then maybe it's time for Valve to hire some people who are actually passionate about Half-Life.
I have to ask... what are they doing if not HL3?
Seriously, they never release any new games, and a slightly upgraded Dota 2 cant take up their WHOLE workforce.
That was a really good conference. They had a lot of people come on.
Can't wait to see if it evolves next year.

"They said there would be Half Life"
If they do this again it should just be shorter.
I understand the lack of announcements, big devs wouldn't announce games at this instead of say, sony's or their own conference.
the dota and CS teams are pretty small. valve has other projects being worked on.

L4D3, the Source 2 engine, Vive, other hardware and software, things like that.
It's a matter of the fact that as it stands the people actually working there are more interested in those listed things than they are HL3. Shame, really.
Aren't Valve doing mostly VR and SteamBox and the controller and all that stuff right now
Then maybe it's time for Valve to hire some people who are actually passionate about Half-Life.
Like you would know.

I wouldn't lament the lack of HL3 as much if Valve would learn how to communicate. It's amazing how little they talk about what they're working on to their fans.
