I'm a little disappointed someone from Bethesda didn't come on and talk about mods and fallout and blah blah blah modding is a core principle of our company blah blah an experience that no other platform offers blah blah
enter the gungeon gameplay is up
Aren't Valve doing mostly VR and SteamBox and the controller and all that stuff right now
Pretty much. Valve simply aren't interested in anything involving actually making games other than supporting their current ones.
I remained on stream, hoping to see some surprise mothafucka trick.
Some guy playing some game showed up :(
I'm starting to wish I had twitch chat on for the last few seconds to see everyone inevitably bitching about how they didn't close with Half Life 3.
I have to ask... what are they doing if not HL3?
Seriously, they never release any new games, and a slightly upgraded Dota 2 cant take up their WHOLE workforce.
There's a whole new engine, superficially it's a slight upgrade, but internally it sounds like there were a lot of changes.
L4D3, the Source 2 engine, Vive, other hardware and software, things like that.
It's a matter of the fact that as it stands the people actually working there are more interested in those listed things than they are HL3. Shame, really.
It's not a "shame"
If they don't want to make Half Life 3, then they won't.
Don't forget that there will be the stuff on the show floor still, so game reveals can still happen. Just don't expect anything big outside the conferences.

Then they should say that.
enter the gungeon looks pretty rad imo
i bet you we won't get another valve game untill atleast 2017. :tinfoil:

Well, shame for us. Not for them. They're all fine and happy doing other things and obviously that's fine, but it leaves a bit of a general sadness knowing it might be many more years before we see a proper conclusion.
We all cheered when Gabe used to talk about the transition to video games as a service, well Valve as it works today is what he was talking about
It's at the point now where everyone has their super special theory of what's going on at Valve, what they're planning and why they're acting this way, and I'm so sick of hearing them all
Unravel, Battlefront, Fallout 4, Shenmue 3, Remake, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, No Man's Sky, the slew of Xbox One related announcements (RARE 30 PACK AAAAAAAAA), damn. I can safely say I enjoyed E3 this year.
Sadly missed the Ubisoft conference (lol), did they show off The Division?
Also missed Nintendo's conference, unfortunately.
This year was a surprisingly good one. It never reached the crazy highs we've had in the past but it didn't have any lows either. The worst parts were Aisha trying to meme which isn't unusual, and EA having an unwelcome and boring sports segment which also isn't unusual.
2015 and 2016 are good years for games, a lot better than 2014.

Which is a shame? I'm confused.

L4D3
Which I hope will be good.
Enter the Gungeon looks fun

Ha try never, unless its Dota 3

Yep they showed off The Division again with plenty of cringe and "realistic" team chatter dialogue. Nintendo's was nothing big but if you like Animal Crossing you probably might get upset during the direct.
That was absolute torture to sit through. It was 2 and a half hours of mostly just fluff, with almost no real substance.
Then they should say that.
I recall them a while back saying they haven't done anything on it because they don't have a big interest in making it.

[male voice]: okay guys, uhhhhh, take out the guy on the right
[female voice]: alright got him *pow pow pow*
[male voice]: nice one!
[male voice again]: oh no they're surrounding us
[male voice 2 who is controlling a drone from a tablet]: anyone ask for some backup?
[male & female voice in unison]: hey, wonderin' when you'd show up!
THE DIVISION
hire me ubisoft
Don't forget to add in a live musical performance nobody wanted to promote your dancing game.
I recall them a while back saying they haven't done anything on it because they don't have a big interest in making it.
Really? Wow thats fucking shitty. They released the last one on a goddamn cliffhanger ending.
Even GRRM is getting his shit together now because he realizes that you cant leave fans hanging.
The only reason we’d go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why [they did].
But you know if you want to do another Half-Life game and you want to ignore everything we’ve learned in shipping Portal 2 and in shipping all the updates on the multiplayer side, that seems like a bad choice.
I clocked out when that lady AMD ceo came out, did I miss anything important?
So what did valve announce, I'm basically on dial up so I can't view shit.

It's a shame what they've become really. They used to show alot of heart.
But one thing that's bothering is if they really ain't a game dev anymore then why are they even bothering with source 2?
I clocked out when that lady AMD ceo came out, did I miss anything important?
Nothing major, just talking about things we've seen and known about before.

They weren't there.
