I don't think MS's conference was bad at all
I personally just think Bethesda and Sony didn't pull any punches and had really exceptionally good ones
Square's was definitely last though. Didn't see Ubi or EA but didn't hear any amazing things out of them (some of the new Ubi games look pretty sweet though).
I agree with this. I guess if you own a Playstation it's a bit more exciting.
I wish Sony had just funded Shenmue III, though. The Kickstarter seemed really weird on stage but that Uncharted 4 gameplay was no joke. (Except for the various jokes by Nathan Drake, which are confirmed jokes.)
because fallout modding has always been present on pc and backwards compat is a plus but there's barely over a dozen games on that list right now
The current backwards compatibility list is for testing. Mods is on consoles is a pretty big deal for everyone involved.
That fucking pc host teased me all the way to the end yesterday... Fucking hell. It was a phenomenal conference. But god damn, that guy knows how to pander to the viewers.
As a PC gamer I'm rating the conferences:
1. Bethesda for being mostly about games and 3 of the major games they showed are games I'm really hyped for
2. PC Gaming Show for having Day[9] and feeling very genuine
3. Square for Deus Ex, JC3 and Hitman
4. Ubisoft for mostly interesting games
5. Microsoft for mostly XBox 1 and barely any Windows 10
6. Nintendo for being boring
10. EA for spending more time on Pele than all the games that interested me combined
(didn't see Sony's)

Agreed; the host of the PC conf was my favorite host of E3 yet
that goddamn jab he made at bloodborne
"we believe that making the games on multiple platforms is the best experience"
"I wish all games were like that; looking at you, bloodborne"

You missed out on a good conference.
I watched the Nintendo segment and all I could think about was the Spitting Image puppets in the video for Genesis' "Land of Confusion."
You missed out on a good conference.
I don't have a PS4.
Has been a strange year. I really think Microsoft and Sony killed it this year, and announced unexpected things such as backwards compatibility and the last guardian respectively. I think everyone else did a pretty poor job, especially Nintendo after last year being probably their best (in my eyes) since 2005.
The PC Gaming conference was definitely a good pilot though, and while nothing unexpected happened, if they keep the format hopefully next year will be an improved version of what we saw yesterday
I don't have a PS4.
Neither do I. You missed out on a good conference.
Hah, all the people watching the Rooster Teeth stream who don't realise Rocco Botte is joking
Sony's conference was really solid.
The only problem I have with it is . . . . . it was almost all multiplats.
Pretty much the only PS4 exclusive they showed that interests me at all is the robot dinosaur one, everything else that was exciting and interesting was shown to at least be coming to PC or otherwise coming to competing consoles.
Too me it was"
Bethesda
Sony
Microsoft
Ubisoft. Judging from a games standpoint they had some good ones.
EA- BattleFront and Mass Effect was more exciting than anything Nintendo had
Nintendo.
My final ranking plus highlights after sometime to dehype are probably
1.Bethesda-FO4, DOOM, Dishnored
2.Sony- TLG, FF7, Shenmue, the latter 2 being multiplat
3.Square- DE, Hitman, JC3, Platinum NieR 2
4.Ubisoft- South Park, For Honour, Ghost Recon
5.PC- Comfy as fuck, good host, KI on PC
6.Microsoft- Backwards compatibility, Recore, Halo 5 Warzone, DS3
7.Nintendo- Starfox, NWCL
8.EA- Battlefront, ME, the shit show that was Pele
Personally Pre-Show Nintendo did excellently, Bethesda stole the show with everything besides that one Battlegem or whatever game that no one is excited for at all, Microsoft was average and nothing special besides Backwards Compatibility and playing God on Minecraft with an admittedly cool but overpriced Hololens, EA pretty much floundered all their momentum of good games on sports even despite Battlefront looking pretty good, Ubisoft was average besides a couple standout games and plenty of meme and Just Dance cringe as per usual, and then Nintendo basically dropped the ball by talking about what we already knew and announcing a bunch of disappointing products besides Star Fox Zero that are literally just holdovers.
I don't even care for multiplat when it comes to Sony because that means I can buy their products on PS4 or PC when applicable, but the double-whammy of FFVII Remake when it's my favorite Final Fantasy, coupled with Shenmue III (which got funded in like less than 12 hours), was just complimented by Square-Enix's own conference of showing progress on Kingdom Hearts III, the NieR sequel with PlatinumGames working on it, and footage of Hitman, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, and Just Cause 3.
Is it bad that pretty much all the first-party stuff looks boring as hell now besides select Nintendo titles, and i'm far more interested in older franchises than any new IPs at this rate?

Exactly this, with sony around top 3 to me.

A wise move, be sure that people are interested in the game and then proceed to push it to the max but as soon as they showed the game, it was bound to be succesfuly funded, it's been too long.
the Ps4 exclusive* Street fighter V is now avalible to pre-purchase on steam

1. Sony - By far the best for me, lots of good looking games. I don't like the idea of exclusives so the amount of multiplats didn't bother me. Loses a couple of marks for the amount of timed exclusives though. I am really looking forward to more Horizon details.
2. Bethesda - Very good for a first conference, DOOM didn't impress me but Fallout 4 was good and they showed a huge amount of gameplay which was nice. They would be No.1 if they showed Dishonoured 2 gameplay but it was still nice to have it announced I guess.
3. Nintendo - Showed plenty of games but no heavy hitters, I liked the look of the new Mario and Luigi game, Star Fox and Xenoblade X. I'm looking forward to next year, It felt like they are holding back so they can blow us away with the Project NX announcement, Zelda U and whatever else they have up their sleeves. They would be lower down the list but I really enjoyed the NWC, easily my favourite part of E3.
4. PC - Nice show but way too long and nothing huge. Hopefully it'll stick around and become a permanent feature, I liked the host and the format it's just a shame about the AMD sections and some of the weaker presentations.
5. Microsoft - Great for XBone owners but not for me, the only thing that really stuck out was Sea of Thieves. Hololens impressed me but I am very skeptical about how it will actually perform outside of a controlled setting. Backwards compatibility is great but it doesn't affect me, hopefully it will push Sony to do something similar. I'm sure if I had an XBone this would rank much higher.
6. Square Enix - Pretty decent but mostly stuff we already knew about or I had no interest in, I did love the Kingdom Hearts III fakeout though.
7. Ubisoft - Good start with South Park went downhill fast with memes and singing. Ended on a sour note with Assassin's Creed and another Tom Clancy game I don't care about.
8. EA - Pele.
This is by no means an objective list, just my own thoughts on it. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree.
Hololense impressions, they had a whole setup where they showed off how to play Warzone from Halo 5 using one:

10:30min in
tl;dr it totally 100% works just like in the press conference
The biggest issues are that it is clearly proof of concept i.e. the FOV is pretty small
dems some jowls
so, like, is there anything exciting left to look forward to?
1. Sony - The Holy Hype Trinity (Last Guardian, FF7r, Shenmue), SFV character reveals and Horizon: Zero Dawn
2. Bethesda - FO4 stuff and the Doom multiplayer editor thingy
3. Ubisoft - I really like the looks of For Honor, and both of the new Clancy games seem interesting to me. I haven't been playing any open world titles recently, so they're not stale for me yet. Co-op GTA style drug busting and Co-op survival/loot MMO are both things I can get behind.
4. Square Enix - Holy fuck that team working on Nier sounds amazing, and Hitman looks neat too I guess.
5. Microsoft - Sea of Thieves looks neato, and Gigantic might be fun.
6. PC - The Killer Instinct PC reveal got me hyped, but I didn't care much about the other stuff.
7. Nintendo - The Muppet stuff was funny, but they had nothing else that interested me besides Starfox 0 and Mario & Luigi x Paper Mario.
8. EA - I'm a huge Mirror's Edge Fanboy, but they only gave me 1 minute of it with only 20 seconds of gameplay. It doesn't help that it was prefaced with lots and lots of Pele.
Obviously subjective. Squenix isn't higher because I'm not a huge FF/KH kinda guy and Ubisoft is #3 because I really liked the looks of those games, especially For Honor.
so, like, is there anything exciting left to look forward to?
Nintendo is apparently going to have another show at some point, it'll be private though.

Still kinda annoyed with paper mario and mario & luigi in the sense that all the recent ones have been kinda shit
None of the Mario & Luigi games even come close to Super Star Saga, and Paper Mario has lost its way since 1000 Year Door, which was amazing.
Cuphead was the only thing that really got me going in the microsoft conference, I don't think there's anyone that could claim it doesn't look fantastic. Ashen looks good too. Nothing else really that would convince me that I should have got an xbone, too many sequels for me. Gutted I won't get to play cuphead though, might have to convince a friend to buy it!
Sonys was far better in terms of games I actually want to play, I mean the last guardian just looks beautiful. Love the art direction. Makes me wanna dig out my PS2 and give shadow of the colossus another playthrough. If it's even half as good as that i'll be happy.

Eh I think Super Paper Mario was good and it's miles better than sticker star.
Eh I think Super Paper Mario was good and it's miles better than sticker star.
Sticker Star was just plain trash
I love my Wii U and it has great games, but with Nintendo's E3 showing this year and the announcement that the next Metroid would be an NX game, the console feels like a deflating balloon.
I assume someone has already claimed Bongo at this point?
