GOOOJIIIIRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Was going to import it if it didn't end up coming here. Edit: PS4 release is new, right?
Sony with the exclusive again.
They must be paying out the ass for all these exclusives lately.
I'm really worried that No Man's Sky is getting overhyped.
They haven't shown anything convincing whatsoever. All the trailers are the same, there's no immediately apparent goal other than exploration. There's only so many assets they can create, so unless there's some greater focus to the game they've yet to detail I don't see it being interesting at all past the first hour or so while you soak up all the different archetypes of planets. It's going to be like the biomes in minecraft. They might look neat for a short while but then you'll start to notice how bad procedural generation is at creating a believable, immersive world and how good it is at just throwing together a patchwork quilt with no rhyme or reason. I think this just might be an advertising issue though. They really just need to show more of what the game's about and less of what the game looks like. It's a bit misleading.
Oh boy i wonder what game will win goty
Conan doesn't really add anything to this does he
So this is show was pretty much funded out of Keighley's picket? Say what you will about the man but you can't help but respect that dedication.
Hey, more shadow of mordor!
Thanks Conan, I never knew that images tell me what a game of the year is.
Blackzilla.
"gonna blaze this city"

You could build what you wanted, you could explore how you wanted, and there was (basic) combat and monsters. I'm unconvinced No Man's Sky will have enough things to do to keep it interesting.

When it comes to No Man's Sky, I just want a game I can pop in and walk around a new planet for a few minutes. No goals, just something to zone out to. But if people are expecting more than that God bless em because they probably won't get it. The team behind the game is tiny. Temper your expectations because you won't be getting anything like Star Citizen.
NMS stuff
I think the problem is just the context in which it's advertised. They've not shown much, and certainly given away very little (not that I have a problem with that), but it's being shown at a massive show, that many people are watching. That, and the extensive coverage it's gotten since it's first announcement, is really bulking the hype. Heck, one of my friends is already saying it's GOTY next year, saying it'll be like EVE, but with a singleplayer side. It'll probably be, like you say, Minecraft, but it really does have an advertising issue, and that worries me, cos it does look great.
We know that it has combat and resource collection, though. Interviews and the first trailer confirmed it.
Fair enough, guess I missed that. One thing I really wish it had was multiplayer, but I guess that's just a dream.
What the fuck this looks right out of a reality show Shark Tank the Game incoming
That Sierra logo brings back good memories.
That Sierra logo brings back good memories.
Sierra always makes me think of No One Lives Forever and an ollllllld game called Torin's Passage.
I missed the Godzilla thing. Was it just the PS3 game? Or is it come to PS4 too?
I missed the Godzilla thing. Was it just the PS3 game? Or is it come to PS4 too?
Both.
I missed the Godzilla thing. Was it just the PS3 game? Or is it come to PS4 too?
PS3/4 exclusive thanks sony
Both.

PS3/4 exclusive thanks sony
Awesome.
I think the NMS team just needs to make a video that's like: "Sit your ass down and listen. This is what the game is like: X, Y, Z." Because at the moment it seems people know so little and they're filling the blanks in with unrealistic expectations. It builds hype, sure, but It'll be dangerous for them to not give more details.
If anyone was going to win this award, I think this was a great choice.
Have they realized that save early/save often isn't remotely fun yet
