Game Awards 2014 - "I'm only watching it for the trailers"

It was certainly better than the past award shows.
i can't believe im saying this but that was actually a pretty good show despite the downsides and some disappointing award winners, we got some solid announcements and some good performances. This was a major step up from the last time.
better than the VGAs but can still do with improvements.
Heres to next year.
He kept hyping up the end like it was going to be some surprise or big announcement or something.
But I guess it was the boring music that was announced at the very beginning. What a joke.
I should not have stayed up from 5 to 8 am for this.
Holy shit! That Zelda footage is beautiful!
Much improved compared to the other award shows Geoff was attached to in the past. Next few years should only improve upon this. I hope he keeps this up (provided he can keep paying for it :v:).
Loved the performances. I still want to see an indie game like Shovel Knight win GOTY though. Some day.
also i can finally go to bed it's 5am good [del]night[/del]morning.

It took until the second half to start actually ramping up, but I agree.
Dragon Age did not deserve that game of the year
don't care what you nerds think
that show was great
and that finale was fucking amazing
They've still yet to show any footage of Star Fox U that doesn't look like a tech demo.
Many might disagree with the GOTY (and there will be people who disagree with any game anyway), but this was really good. Good guests, interesting reveals, nothing too off-topic or ostentatious. If next year is better, then it's really becoming an awesome thing to watch.
Just realized that we didn't see a lot of Xbox related stuff.
There was a lot of Wii U and PlayStation exclusives though.

I'm guessing they're waiting for E3 to show it off, which could imply that Zelda is a getting a Holiday 2015 release which isn't too surprising.
Hopefully next year will be better. A little less awkward, less technical hiccups and most certainly more community driven awards. They also need to give a little more fanfare to the smaller awards, cos they just breezed through stuff like best online experience and whatever.
Given how much time they had padded to filler content and ads, they really could've kept the awards rolling, if I'm honest, rather than making them sound like Geoff just found these trophies in a bargain bin and is throwing them out to his mates.
This show was very nice. It was professional and kept it simple. Really felt like a nice performance. Last year was garbage and sloppy and im glad Joel Mchale was there to make fun of it.
I'm bothered by the fact that Casey Hudson was there and didn't even mention Mass Effect 4, and that Uncharted 4's director was also there and all we got was a U4 wallpaper. Good show regardless.
I posted this in two threads but it doesn't hurt to post it once more.

So I took some stuff from the video.

Basically, this means the world is bigger than we thought.
I thought the Beacon was closer, not miles away.
And keep this in mind, this is the same location they said that they are about 4-5 minutes away from.
Also the white arrow (that is highlighted in blue in the third picture) is what I assume Epona's mark is.
And while remaking the images, I saw a clock and an icon of a house. I assume the clock is in-game time, and the house is a town.
I like the realistic stuff going on, such as Horses dodging tree's, and apples growing.
It was good, Zelda Wii U looks amazing.
I didn't care about anything on this show tbh, until Zelda U came on.
hype
(also King's Quest)
How much money did they pay for DA:I to be called GotY
With those cutscenes it shouldn't even be game of the century
like, besides my disagreements on certain awarded games (GOTY) that was really, really good.
miles better than last years whateverthefuck that was
also Zelda U hype
Yeah, the facial animation in that acceptance speech thing was pretty terrible.
I knew you guys were gonna whine about DAI, but come on. Game Awards GOTY doesn't mean shit, all we really came to see was the announcements.
The DA:I bitching annoys me just because it's bandwagoning after seeing a couple of gifs and people think it's the worst game ever. It's definitely not GOTY but people are treating it like the Anti-Christ.
Go bitch at these people over it

I wasn't expecting much and that was still fairly disappointing.

i haven't seen a single person talk shit about DAI
all i've seen is a bunch of people laughing at wonky cutscenes.

At 2:07, when he raises up his arm to shoot an arrow you can really clearly see the silhouette of Link's breasts. He's pretty clearly a she this time around.
With the Kings Quest bit, the Bloodborne footage, the song from No Man's Sky, and a strong showing from Facepunch I was actually entertained.
And not in a "Oh shit McHale is ripping this thing apart" way.
