This looks like a 3D rpgmaker game. Remake Vampires Dawn:Ancient Blood in it.
Actually, as a programmer, I'm quite amazed by his work. Did anyone else notice that the game doesn't have a single texture anywhere? not even for vegetation and trees? It's all made up of primitive colours and blocks, lighting and shadows take care of the 'look'. Also, it looks like he's using quadtrees for the blocks, which means that big blocks can be divided into smaller sub-blocks, and those can be sub-divided in turn, and so on. What you're essentially looking at is 3D voxel-art. Regardless of the (cliché and somewhat cheesy) content, this is impressive.
This looks like a 3D rpgmaker game. Remake Vampires Dawn:Ancient Blood in it.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Have you seen ANYTHING of the game? Most of the game is running on some C++ self-made game engine, which uses voxels to illustrate all the graphics without the use of a single texture. That's impressive considering it's just one guy.
Indeed, I've seen a few people complaining about how the blocks lack textures. But really, that's what makes it so charming to me. [editline]10th February 2012[/editline] http://wollay.blogspot.com/2012/02/screenshots-dungeons.html Buttload of dungeon pictures.
Looks great. I hope wollay stays by his word and actually releases it march, I'm actually looking forward to playing this game.

The faces of the characters look like the look like the faces in RPGmaker games, duh.

They fit the art-style, and honestly don't look half bad for what they are.
I really want to play this, but I'm worried the character design may be somewhat forced on the player. I mean, I'm normally a bow kinda guy. Doesn't mean I want to look like a blue-haired elf girl. Though I guess I may be able to put that aside if the game is enjoyable enough.
from what I seen in the trailer this is like Terraria in 3D with all the creatures and monsters and fighting.
Have you produced anything that looks better than his "RPGmaker characters"? They fit the art-style, and honestly don't look half bad for what they are.
For gods sake, I said I like that. I miss bad reading.

I wonder if there will be any follower type npcs in this game. How awesome would it be to build a golem out of voxels to fight for you? Of course, I don't expect it by any means but it would be cool. Also, to those talking about bows and aiming: There is a first person view. There might be some sort of aiming system in first person.
Your original post on the matter said nothing about liking it.
Neither did I say I didn't like them. On top of that, my earlier post:
I'm not complaining about the graphics, actually I'm doing the opposite.

Neither did I say I didn't like them. On top of that, my earlier post:
You said people misunderstood your first post, so I'm going back to it. Gamemaker games are not good and you compared this to it. That leaves us to fill in the blanks you left everywhere.
Free character movement without auto aim only makes sense if you use a controller which snaps to set angles (like the gamecube controller) assisted by aim assist. Otherwise it's going to be a stafing fest to hit anything.
And this is the reason Why i love the Gamecube controller because it allows for free movement and snaps to angles, Nintendo really did hit it with the movement analog stick.
Oh man, I saw that 1 fan trailer and I'm hyped as fuck now. Can't wait for future updates and a release date, maybe early/alpha buyers will get some sort of bonus like Minecraft.
i used to want this game, but then i took a brain to my head
i used to want this game, but then i took a brain to my head
No... that's not even funny so don't attempt to even try it.
Nah, sorry i'l stick to minecraft. But i'l play this to.
So there's first person mode too? THE POSSIBILITIES.
Nah, sorry i'l stick to minecraft. But i'l play this to.
That makes no sense
i used to want this game, but then i took a brain to my head
Your brain must have got out of your head fast for making such a shitty joke.
Latest post from his blog.
From what I see, either the enemies' health is too large, or the swords do shit damage. The baddie demolishes his health while hes just sitting there wailing on him, waiting for his SP to go up.
This looks great but the weapons do too little damage, it seems.
Fucking incredible. I hope dorfs are a playable race.
This looks great but the weapons do too little damage, it seems.
Keep in mind that a huge aspect of this game is co-op. How long do you think the enemies would last if they had 2+ people whacking it?

The most damage the weapons did without a power attack was 5, and the player has 500 health. my guess is that weapons must be buffed, majorly.
Keep in mind that a huge aspect of this game is co-op. How long do you think the enemies would last if they had 2+ people whacking it?
I get it but at least keep the weapon damage balanced enough for single player.
Maybe they reduced the damages on purpose for the video???
Pretty sure the damage is low so that you have to use your finishing moves instead of just whacking everything. Does seem imbalanced though. The finishing moves do all the damage as it is.
