Should be so every time you do a power attack, it damages the ground, but to a certain depth so you don't end up digging all the way

I'll log on with my ranger, level you all a bunch, then try to crash the server using the glide+retreat exploit and blame it all on Jason.

Visit more cities, or get murdered at low levels by nomads in jungle/desert biomes
I went afk for a few minutes to brush my teeth.
And I come back to see about 15 NPCs had wandered into the weapons shop and began to stare at me, and as soon as I move, they all book it out the door.
