Not gonna buy
wide world exploration
customizable character (in one way or another)
dungeon raiding
crafting
multiplayer/co-op

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, I just actually wanted to see if I could list 5.
I think you described almost every good multiplayer rpg ever
Hence I wasn't being remotely serious. :t
I happen to sell bicycles that go backwards, perhaps you'd be interested in one, seeing as you already know how they work.
I wonder if there are any vehicles.
Wish this guy would allow people to contribute, I can understand why he wouldn't but a lot of the music I made would go awesome with this game.

Post it here, there's nothing stopping us from muting his music and listening to yours while playing :)
Well, his music (if the ones in the preview videos are the actual music) are good, but are a little too ambient and bland in my opinion. I miss the days of really nice melodies in game.
For example, this could just be exploring the open plains:

And this could be some fighting or action:

These are things I though of when making music, games like this.
You should hit him up with an email and some samples, maybe he'll dig your vibes.
I know I do.
[editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
What software did you use to make these fine melodies?
That music's actually really great
I would like to see something like that in the game, it would make playing it a whole lot funner.

I used mostly my own fingers on a keyboard. I used Ableton for simple looping and management.
I feel like it would be a little forward to suggest him ditching stuff he's already done when he's specifically said it was a solo project.
But doing music for a successful indie game would make one of my many dreams come true.

Maybe I'll pitch those two, and this one to him. Maybe... but
"Q: Can I help with programming, graphics, sound, music etc?
A: Thanks, but I want to do everything by myself."
The problem is, I feel like the current music is fit for something like SimCity or Pilotwings.
Needs more bounce and more recognizable melodies
So there's first person mode too?
THE POSSIBILITIES.
The first person screenshot I saw made me think of a blocky Skyrim.
I like it.
You work with VSTs I assume? What did you use for the Lead-Synth on the first song?

That tune would work well when building your house.
The fighting one is ok, but I think it would work better when exploring a dungeon or something, not directly fighting. it's too bouncy and happy at points.

THIS. I can totally see this being the overworld music.

Wow, you write really catchy music. Actually, I'd be more surprised if you didn't achieve your goal of hitting it big with a successful indie company.
There's a new vid.
It's nice to see a little variation on the special moves, although, in my opinion, the combat still looks like a bit of a spam fest unless you're using a bow...
This video gives an overview of the different weapon styles and fighting moves that are implemented so far. Each weapon type has now an additional finishing move which can be triggered in combination with rolling (dodging).
Bow:
- Special: Charged arrow (must stand still while charging)
- Roll + Special: Air strike
Dual-wield:
- Special: Swirl
- Roll + Special: Charge and dual-slash
Shield:
- Chance to block when shield is in front
- Special: Shield slam
- Roll + Special: Charge and shield slam
Two-handed:
- Special: Smash
- Roll + Special: Somersault smash
And suddenly this game looks a lot less appealing...

Why do you have to compare it to anime of all things?
It reminds me nothing of anime :v:
its just like one of my japanese animaeys
Aguu~

gosh you baka gajin, its uguu~ kawaii desu ~desu
I really hope the combat gets better...
Other than that I'm loving the customization for the weapons and the overall art style.

I don't like how normal attacks do ~0 damage yet a special one-shots them.
I don't understand the concept of charged shots. Is it like, he doesn't ever pull the string back all the way or what?
im not very artistic, so when this game comes out, ill probably make a weapon into a wand or something :v:
