you guys say minecraft's boring as fuck but they REALLY need to tone down cubeworld's overworld. holy shit it's huge and there are obnoxiously long stretches of nothing in particular. also i have no idea what those angel tombstone things are actually for.

It's in alpha, not everything has been implemented in the overworld yet. 2. Large overworlds are fun. Infinite exploration. 3. They're spawn angels, if you die you spawn back at the nearest one(?).
Hey, did we ever get a release on that .cub editor shown a few pages back? I'd really like to take a look at the various models. The only thing I want is to actually have examination descriptions, I'm tired of seeing, "Nothing interesting here..." when I examine the most FUCKING INTERESTING block in a whole dungeon. :v:

water mages are still super obnoxious i mean really it's not even fair
Modified my character to level 10000, and the dwarves still rape my asshole almost instantly. This game needs some work.
Modified my character to level 10000, and the dwarves still rape my asshole almost instantly. This game needs some work.
Well, duh. The levels scale.
Registration up... Shop still down. Dammit.
HAHA! Got in registration! Now to wait for the shop.
Well, duh. The levels scale.
so it's always going to be really obnoxious to not get your shit handed to you again and again? what advantage do you get
I like it. It means there'll always be a challenge, no matter what level you are.
This game looks promising and all but it has some very serious mechanical fuck ups. Also the whole class system and item + x is bullshit. What is this, DnD?
so it's always going to be really obnoxious to not get your shit handed to you again and again? what advantage do you get
You gain an understanding in the combat and your skills (as well as the fact you can max your skills out to unrealistic extents) which will allow you to benefit.
My opinion on Minecraft is that it is a fun game, but not a very good game. Personally I've always enjoyed mining out tunnels, building ugly houses and just exploring the landscape. Stuff like the Clay Soldiers mod that allows me to build mini empires of tiny people are also tons of fun. But the game is fairly amateur. The tone is inconsistent (generic halloween witches and creepy pasta esque endermen really don't complement each other and that's just the tip of the iceburg), the game doesn't look all that good and not just because of the blocky artstyle and it's one of the worst optimised game's I've ever seen. It doesn't help that the fanbase see fit to praise the team for every new feature, but then again if we were to judge every game base upon it's fanbase every game would be shit because fanbases are almost inherently shit. The main reasons that the game is successful are because firstly it hasn't got a whole lot of competition, at least not at inception and secondly it has mod support up the butt even if not officially. Of course it has the support of a lot of Youtube lets players, but that wouldn't really help it if it wasn't fun to play otherwise train simulator would be played a lot more. /end of off-topic I think they should put those teleport runes that I've never come across in every town. That way it's less annoying travelling from region to region.
so far i'm really enjoying ninja with a sword intercept is usually enough time for me to take them down to like a quarter health, then a dodge into a crit m2 kills them. i'm living a lot more than i was before.
honestly just wish Minecraft had this game's combat, or Cubeworld had building/mining like Minecraft. Best of both words.
Seeing as this is still in alpha, the building/mining isn't out of the question yet.
it'd be hard to do it though without custom pieces. voxel means you can't just make houses with big squares, there are so many shapes you could make
Seeing as this is still in alpha, the building/mining isn't out of the question yet.
"mining"? Building has been confirmed for ages but there wont be any digging.
How long does it take for the activation message to be sent?
How long does it take for the activation message to be sent?
1 second to 1 year
It would be so awesome if you could make your own monsters, and it animated them for you. Like you made the body, arms, and feet. Same with player models. Making your own custom army with custom armor and stuff... that's what I want. I love the gameplay, but games are much more fun to me when I'm allowed to be creative. The weapon customization is nice but there's so much more opportunity with this engine.
Oh, God, you guys. Oh, God. [sp]Is it realistic enough.[/sp]
"mining"? Building has been confirmed for ages but there wont be any digging.
Only to an extent. You're given pieces of house to work with, but not individual voxels. For a voxel based game the customisation could really go further on every front. Weapons, building and cosmetics aren't bad as they are now (or will be in the case of building), but it could be so much more. Fortunately modding seems to be very much a possibility so we'll probably end up seeing this stuff regardless, but it'd be great to see it in the actual game.
I would say Cube world is way closer to Zelda, Ocarina of Time, than Minecraft. From the GUI sounds to the text bubbles over NPCs, it's very Zelda like
