You should be hating yourself for not checking it later, when it is released.
I'm dying a little more every day this damn game doesn't come out. I'm about to go on a hunting trip with my grandpa too so I bet with my luck it'll come out while I'm gone.
when is this supposed to come out then?
The day I get this, is the day I never leave my house.
The MONTH I get this, is the MONTH I never leave my house.
Fixed it.
Fixed it.
What if it's on the last day of the month? Then it would only be a day anyway, if not less.
when is this supposed to come out then?
In Q1. So either this month or April.
I cry everyday this isn't released.
I honestly doubt this coming out soon. We haven't seen any skills or even a use fro EXP points.

I agree to be honest. The game doesn't seem nearly close to being done enough for it to come out in Q1, despite what the developer said.

An alpha, maybe. But that's all.
I'd love an alpha version to be released or something to just explore. To get a taster of the game would be brilliant.

No, it would be horrible.

Explain.

The animation of the "saurians" looks very unfinished and glitched.
Though I am sure he'll fix that before release.
The more I watch this the more concerned I get, the combat still looks really... stiff, and something that could get dull very quickly, and honestly I'm getting an MMO-ish feel from it now. It's worrying

Because then the final product wont feel anywhere near as good.
Customization? Boss fights? Battle animations?
This takes a shit all over Minecraft and Terraria. Amazing.

To be honest I was thinking the same thing up until this video. The combat system looks to me like it's going to be promising and the differences between the weapon types would make me have 2-3 characters in just the melee class alone.
Because then the final product wont feel anywhere near as good.
I meant just the world, or some other little world that they make for a demo or something, and just you with no weapons or anything just to explore and get a feel for the game. No combat or anything like that to ruin the final product for us.

I don't follow. How exactly does a simple techdemo showcasing terrain generation and nothing else hinder the quality of the final build?
The world destruction looks really thin. Kind of disappointing.
Oh gawd the horror!!!! What if a boss-like monster breaks part of a npc city where you "live"? would you just have a big circle doorway forever?
I'm not sure what all this criticism of the combat system is about. Do I have to remind you that it started out being a left-click spam fest with the occasional power move? At least Wollay is adding new abilities and making the combat more fluid.
I can see how the skill bar at the bottom can make it seem more like an MMO, but it really isn't. Unlike games like World of Warcraft where you right-click the enemy and then just spam hotkeys until they die, you still actually have to roll to evade enemy attacks and time your skills. I think the game is actually improving more and more.

Pretty much how I feel. Plus, it's co-op so it's generally a more enjoyable experience even if you're not a huge fan of said gameplay type.
My god, this looks fantastic. Weird that there's no alpha though, it looks stable enough for one.
I also hope he adds NPC vs NPC, the lizardman and frogman interrupting the boss battles was strange.

I'm not personally calling you out on this, but pretty much everyone calling it an 'Alpha'. Guys, an Alpha is a stage of development, not a pre-release type deal. Do you guys honestly think this is an Alpha? It looks more like a beta than anything else.

Last time I checked, Cube World was still in a deep stage of development.
The guy just made bloody dungeons a few weeks ago. And he's still making classes as well as perfecting combat, limited character customization - heck, he's still making and adding so many various things. Everything so far just seems random and spontaneous without anything to wrap it all together. So because of that it feels like an Alpha and it feels like it's far from done, so that means it's not a Beta.

It's nothing so ill-defined
Alpha development stage is when features are still being implemented
Beta stage is when it's got all the features and bugs are being ironed out in those features
Then release
Though frankly it does suck to view it so narrow-mindedly, but at least use the terms right. With this I feel it'll probably be more of a "In development/not in development" model with a release somewhere along the line.
