Well I hope he changes that up a bit. Does the lava biome even have volcanoes or anything like that? I've never found one personally so I wouldn't know.
No it's just a red lava texture pretty much.

I don't even think it has any unique features at all. As you said, it's just a retextured desert biome with different enemies. (And I'm assuming the town is the same since the lava biome one looks like a desert one although I haven't been to a desert town yet.)

Haha yea, it's a desert town, with palms and shit.
I found the desert biome to be absolutely beautiful at dusk.
So when they say don't buy the game if the demo doesn't work, does it count if the demo starts for about 30 seconds before freezing or is there something that is supposed to happen?
ive come across maybe 20 biomes so far on one go and no desert :(

It didn't help that until that point I'd had so little experience with mages that I didn't even know they left spells behind on the ground in the first place. Let alone knowing that there would be red spells left on red colored ground...

Sounds like you just gotta get good! Any flaws are intentional!
But yeah, hopefully this, among many other things, gets fixed. A lava biome should be really cool, with lava flows and cracked earth leading to deadly falls into lava lit caves, volcanos spewing fireballs into the air and streaming magma from the top (Perhaps fire mages can get fire immunity at some point? Then they can make a rad base inside of a volcano. Drowning needs to be added, so water mages can make cool shit at the bottom of the ocean.)
Maybe he'll fix it before he finishes swamp lands.

A rarity 255 lamp makes enough of a difference on the black tiles to actually help a little bit.

No, legendary is rarity 5. Anything above that is red rarity and may or may not (no one can actually confirm it yet) only be possible through cheating. A rarity 255 lamp will light up everything brighter than daylight out past the maximum render distance.

a legendary lamp is only rarity 4, so you can only imagine the horror that is rarity 255

I've been playing this on and off since yesterday and posting in the /vg/ Cube World General. I really love the game so far. I've been getting the vibe from pretty much everyone that I should've made a different character though. I have an Elf Rogue and I'm seeing lots of Elf hate. For some reason a lot of people in the Cube World General seem to have a fetish for the female Goblins. It took me quite awhile to make it to level 2 so I'm not going to start a new character just yet.
I'm not a huge fan of Facepunch (my brother told me to check out this thread) but I'm thinking of joining the Facepunch Cube World server because some jerk was allegedly DDOSing every server posted in the Cube World General over on /vg/ and I'd like to play with a larger amount of people. I haven't convinced very many of my friends to dump $20 on a game that's in Alpha, they're all still sore about Minecraft. I do have my own server up but it's mostly just me playing alone.
Do I truly have to add someone on Steam to get on to the server? That's an interesting approach to a whitelist this early in development, but I don't really want to add some random person just to get on.
Swefox's server is whitelisted due to griefers so you need to PM him to get access, but I don't think you need to add him on steam or anything..?
