I just love the landscapes and visuals in this game. New terrain is nice I suppose but there needs to be more mechanics to flesh the game out.
i kinda hope he'll put in a 4th skill for each class as well. maybe balance them a bit. i switched from Guardian warrior to Zerker warrior and guardian is definently easier to solo with. zerker its like theres no time to dodge you must RAPE. but with how boss HP is its just not worth it.
Since I just got Starbound, I may have to delay getting this, but it's good to see that things are coming along.
I hope an update comes soon. Everything he's saying he's working on looks awesome.
last tweet confirmed a nerfed green laser. thank god my tank warrior can probably survive it now! update: looks like hes still fleshing out the new questing system, he still has no idea how long it'll take for the next update.
Quest system preview: https://picroma.com/blog/post/13
Dungeon Quests are "Defeat the ruler of that dungeon" quests. They're depicted as a red dungeon icon on the map. Monster Quests are about defeating big monster bosses like trolls, saurians etc. They have a red skull icon on the map. Mini Quests are quests that can spawn randomly everywhere in the world. They can be discovered while traveling and, if you have already discovered the part of the map, have a silver shield icon on the map. They are meant as small side quests that you can do during your explorations. Main Quests are random quest lines that are generated for each land. They often send you to various locations in the land, like dungeons or ancient ruins, and sometimes just into the wilderness. Target locations are marked with a golden sword icon on the map. The objectives are varying and can involve fighting gangs, finding NPCs, examining objects, carrying things around and more. My friend and I were going to buy this when it was popular, but then it died down two weeks later and we're glad we didn't buy it. I haven't seen anything about this game since it's initial boom.
It's a good game. Development's just going rather slow.
And with barely any communication on what's going on.
People get a bit paranoid when the developer releases the game, releases a few bug fixes and goes off the grid for 2-3 months. But I can respect Wollay, he takes his time and doesn't rush anything.
We've had like 3-4 blog posts, I find we're in a much better situation than we were for the first month or two after the alpha released.
We've had like 3-4 blog posts, I find we're in a much better situation than we were for the first month or two after the alpha released.
A bit late though since so many people have lost interest in the game now. Chances are interest in it is never going to be as high as it was after release.
It's a good game. Development's just going rather slow.
honestly, i still dont consider it a good game i think it had a lot of potential, but hype and "regular joe's getting a lot of money and responsibility" usually leads to really lousy progress and i dont think cubeworld is going anywhere big any time soon it really lacks in everything other than feeling polished visually and artistically; gameplay-wise, i havent seen anything in recent posts that give me the impression that the new updates in the near future will make the game actually enjoyable

Anyone know if or when this game is going to be updated ? It's a good game but without further progress it will just stagnate a be a great game that could have been amazing. If it was me I would ask Mojang to help with it or hire more people

it would be good to see some progress or even hear some news whether or not it is dead, it has a lot of potential and I want it to reach that potential
it would be good to see some progress or even hear some news whether or not it is dead, it has a lot of potential and I want it to reach that potential
Watch out saying stuff like that. Cubeworld players aren't allowed to want communication from the dev.
i've passed the time by trying to spread rumors that he died and there will be no more development or refunds. on twitter. so like 8 people have seen me say it. seriously though any indie dev game i can come up with off the top of my head, we hear from em atleast once a month in some shape or form, castle story, starbound, terraria, minecraft, hell even FTL got its update recently. cubeworld? if this next patch isnt a huge content update of EVERYTHING he's talked about, i will be dissapointed. given its a 2 person team working on it but nearly 3 months since the last verbal update and who knows how long since the last Patch... i honestly would've been fine with the new power level system being capped at 20 rather than 100, and biomes being less massive, and more warp stones. THAT alone would've done it for me till he got the new biomes and questing fixed up. but he had to wait till it was ALL done before he says anything to anyone about anything involving him and his life or his game in development.
who knows how long since the last Patch...
The last patch was late July or early August of last year iirc.
The last patch was late July or early August of last year iirc.
ah ok so those that rated me dumb disagree then that taking close to a YEAR to update a early release title that sold for about 20$ is asking too much.
I'm 100% sure people are rating you dumb for this:
Exactly
It's frustrating that the main thing he patched out was the ranger's awesome backwards leap combining with the hang-glider. That was a ton of fun.

Forgive me for not backtracking the thread, but it's been a while and I sort of forgot I ever purchased this. Has anything been updated since the launch, or is a supposed update coming within the next few months?
cortex command
i never played cortex command, seen some stuff on it here and there. wait was that the thing the Crab rocket video was from?
Forgive me for not backtracking the thread, buts it been a while and I sort of forgot I ever purchased this. Has anything been updated since the launch, or is a supposed update coming within the next few months?
since the games initial release as far as i can recall i only remember 3 patches, all of which are out if you have the latest installer from the website. but it was mentioned on this page the last patch was around july-august last year. and never expect anyone to know when the next patch update will be out, even wollay doesnt know till he hits the upload button in most cases.
I'm 100% sure people are rating you dumb for this:
what a dev dying and no one ever knowing cause he doesnt communicate isnt funny? i thought it'd be a hillarious aprilfools joke but i waited patiently that week thinking hey, maybe this will be the month finally that we see new content. when i was wrong i went ahead with it anyway.
This dev is shit. And the people who bought into his game can't help but stoically defend him, like a starving person being fed scraps: "But he blog posts 3 or 4 times every 6 months, you can't call him bad!" It's still scraps, and if he cared anything for the people who supported him, he'd take a few minutes out of his day to update us all. It's pathetic and bad form.

He can't even spare 2/1400 minutes per day to actually communicate!
I bought this game...then got a refund.
