Doesn't really look like it can be compared to minecraft other than it's a voxel game. However the game looks a lot more professional.
Which is ironic because it's only made by one person, and has not been in development in very long compared to minecraft, and has little funding, atleast compared to, you guessed it, minecraft.
You gotta hit it's weak point for massive damage! Or I've fought mudcrabs fiercer then you! There you go.
Thank you, load off my mind.
I want it I like how it's made by 1 person.
I still think the combat looks lame. It's just click as fast as you can and tank whatever's coming at you. It needs improvement.

I really really want this.
Doesn't really look like it can be compared to minecraft other than it's a voxel game. However the game looks a lot more professional.
Minecraft isn't a voxel game. It is a voxel themed game.
Combat reminds me a bit of Zelda, with the rolls and spins
The graphics look so much better!
Also OP, you forgot to add "Limited Player Customization" and "Execution moves" Since the Q&A claims there will be player customization that is similar to Terraria's, and in the trailer at 1:04 you see the player performing an execution move of some sort
I've stalked this since it first came to light last June, happy he hasn't rushed its release or anything like that. Shame that none of my friends will like it or buy it, it seems pretty awesome.
I'm going to keep my eye on this. I've been waiting forever for a voxel game which is actually decent. Wow you guys are picky. I use the wrong word and you all get mad. :pwn:
well then hope is somewhat restored
Why somewhat?
I'm going to keep my eye on this. I've been waiting forever for a Minecraft clone which is actually decent.
This isn't in any way a minecraft clone. You can't dig or mine in it:
Q: Will you add mining/building/crafting? A: - I'm not planning to add mining or digging. - House building is supported. - I will probably add a crafting system that allows you to craft weapons and armor from loot dropped by monsters.
- from FAQ
I'm going to keep my eye on this. I've been waiting forever for a Minecraft clone which is actually decent.
it isn't a minecraft clone learn how to read chump
This isn't in any way a minecraft clone. You can't dig or mine in it: - from FAQ
That's not to say you can't dig with some TNT :v:
I can bet this will eventually get mining implemented in the future after its release. People are gonna be begging for it, I know I will.
I can bet this will eventually get mining implemented in the future after its release. People are gonna be begging for it, I know I will.
I hope it won't be the same as minecraft. It really is tedious. Maybe you could hire NPCs to do the mining for you?
Well maybe make it so that mining is completely optional, but will help you in the longrun if you decide to do it? I for one enjoy mining in Minecraft as long as I'm in the mood for it, which of course is situational. So making it optional in Cube World would be very pleasing to me.
Did you not see the 2nd video when the player's fighting the Grim Reaper figure? The much newer "improved combat" vid shows just how bad it is once you get ganged up on. Enemies have little to no tells when they attack and attack way too frequently to make dodging viable: The combat's a battle of spam, not skill. The idea's great, though, and it looks like it's shaping up nicely.
The guy who's making this seems to have like, an absurd amount of common sense and knowledge of what makes a game good. Which is foreign in today's market, which is why I have high hopes for this game.
no mining, wtf?

Looks really good in the video

He doesn't aim for "YAY MORE FEATURES!" but actually concentrates on core ideas until they are polished.
Already I can see that Minecraft doesn't have shit on this. I mean, it's like what Minecraft would be if Notch weren't a spazz.
Except he was already hired by mojang http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/05/mojang-hire-cube-world-developer/
He declined the offer to work with mojang.
I really hope there is digging. Not mining, but the ability to alter the landscape instead of just building new objects. I'm not saying this should be anywhere near minecraft in it's implementation of digging, but I really want the ability to change the landscape, flatten land, clear trees, build a cliff on the side of the mountain. Add that, and this will be the best thing ever.
