not in this lifetime anyway
It's not even in open alpha/beta and it's already more complete than Minecraft is as a full retail game.
well that's cool and all but we kinda need to play it to judge that
well that's cool and all but we kinda need to play it to judge that
Nonsense, let's just jump to conclusions and judge the game based on them.
Blocks are neat.
http://wollay.blogspot.com/2012/05/cube-world-multiplayer-impressions.html?m=0 Gentlemen, we have more screenshots.
New screenshots from the 7th of July: http://wollay.blogspot.ca/?m=0
Looks phenomenally better than minecraft. Minecraft's combat is flawed and boring, this however seems exciting and deep.
New video, the first one in 6 months (on the youtube channel at least)
Oh god i cant wait, i would play it even in that current state
Holy shit, you can fly :D
Really hyped for this, the weapon customization looks like tons of fun in itself
http://wollay.blogspot.com/ too many images to post havent really been keeping up with this game looks like there's regions now looks kinda cool still no release which i think is kinda stupid because people will keep forgetting this game

Just found this thread and wow, i need this game
him not releasing even an alpha seems kinda stupid, the game looks farther along than some other indie games
him not releasing even an alpha seems kinda stupid, the game looks farther along than some other indie games
"even an alpha", you make it sound like it's a bad thing. Some developers like releasing finished games instead of alphas and betas, and I can respect that.
him not releasing even an alpha seems kinda stupid, the game looks farther along than some other indie games
there still isnt much sound in the game according to him its why he hasn't even released a new vid yet. why would he release an alpha of that? it'd be boring.
"even an alpha", you make it sound like it's a bad thing. not all indie games are minecraft, not all indie games could sell the beta.
did i say he'd sell it
then what would be the point? release something only close to what will be? have you even SEEN the alpha? it used the NES MARIO JUMP SOUND FOR JUMPING in fact it practically only had Nes mario sounds. he put that out it'd be as bad as the terraria leak that had FF1 models for the player models.
did i say he'd sell it
i dont think you understand that he is clearly not at all concerned with the popularity of the game in its present state. i'm sure he knows that his game is promising enough that when he announces its release, people will come flocking for what looks to be a stellar game. so stop giving your expert advice on how to make a game successful.
Well, I'm just saying based on past experiences in this thread, the popularity for it dies and revives like every 5 months.
cause rather than catering to fixing a beta all his fans are busy playing hes finishing a game, and a website. though on his twitter he recently indicated hes doing more work on the game atm. can't blame him, he'd like to see it done as much as the rest of us. if you believe in your advice so much, ask him on twitter constantly.
Well, I'm just saying based on past experiences in this thread, the popularity for it dies and revives like every 5 months.
And if it did come out everyone here would only play when a new update came out and quit 3 days later because they had enough time to get all the new content.
And if it did come out everyone here would only play when a new update came out and quit 3 days later because they had enough time to get all the new content.
Uh...no? I do believe there's enough content in the game to keep us busy in between his updates. With building, different enemies, land generation, etc. Randomness adds a lot of replayability to games, along with customization.
this game needs to release already

The dev doesn't believe that there's enough content or features for release and therefore wont do alpha builds. Not to mention this being an RPG too, having end game stuff from the previous builds will stagnate the new content faster than if they were already put in from the beginning. Take a look at Terraria, where you could blast through the hard mode boss update in a day if you had tons of materials from playing all the time and end-game items.

i wish we'd get something like every month... thats kinda how it was to start and then it tapered off.
