This is why you put out the client as a torrent :P
I've been following this since this thread first showed up. I'm so excited.
So, now much $$$ is it?
Paypal and credit card.
Thank you. Really wish it was on steam as an early access, that would make it a lot easier to purchase for me.
So, now much $$$ is it?
$20.10 apparently
I'm just going to wait for someone to post in this thread saying that the site isn't overloaded anymore
So you get the alpha, then when the game is released you get the full game, i assume? Like any other game?
Site is down now.
So you get the alpha, then when the game is released you get the full game, i assume? Like any other game?
Yes you pay now and you get the alpha, beta, and full game for a cheaper price. When he launches the beta he'll probably up the price, then when the full game is finished he'll probably up the price again.
I'm 99% sure that he said if you buy one version of the game you get all updates for free... unless he has changed his mind very recently. I would find where he said that to prove it but the site is down for now.
I'm almost literally shitting my pants with excitement (I have bowel problems these days)
$20 for the alpha. That's actually kind of expensive for an indie game, I thought he said it was going to be less expensive than a usual indie game?
No, he said it's gonna be cheaper in alpha. So it's actually gonna be even more expensive lol [editline]2nd July 2013[/editline]
I'm 99% sure that he said if you buy one version of the game you get all updates for free... unless he has changed his mind very recently. You would think developers might foresee server issues easier. Yet all too often they do some sort of release that requires accessing their server and it goes down within minutes.

Well I guess they already have their stress test right now....their servers are already overloaded.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kv0LFo9.jpg[/thumb] Here's the demo. Here I was hoping to get it during my lunch break.
The client should be released as a torrent atleast for the first week, and have a "demo" day where everyone has access to lower the site load.
That would be a good idea. It seems like any sort of server based release is bound to fail though for some reason. You get popular games being released through Steam and a lot of people have massive problems downloading it because the demand outstrips the supply. You've got games like SimCity V and Diablo III which require connecting to servers to play and they go down almost immediately too. Then you have games like Cubeworld where the dev apparently vastly underestimates how many people want to play their game. I know money is a concern but it seems to me that at times like this investing a little more money in your server would be a more profitable idea in the end. Especially at times like now where the store had to be disabled.
why couldn't they have at least used the humble bundle site like starbound did
that is the " tech " demo to see if the game RUNS in your computer, it was freely available t anyone in the forums becouse one of the users posted dat the one you get from buying the game is the actual game, not the demo to see if it runs
Well the link someone posted had an announcement saying it was a demo. They sort of left out a word.
Here I was hoping to get it during my lunch break.
I was hoping to be able to play it today. A friend is paying for my copy because I'm broke right now and the store went down just in time for them to have to go to bed. So I get to wait until around 8pm PST (it's just before 10am right now) before I get any chance to play. This is one of only two game releases this year I'm really looking forward to.
why couldn't they have at least used the humble bundle site like starbound did
Because sudden releases are fun and exciting
alright I made an account, but the email won't send anyone else having this problem

The demo is here, but it is just a blue fog with the title cube world http://www.notquitebacon.com/demo.html
I'm sure you'll be able to get it today, it's just the server issue that's stopping it
My issue is that I won't be able to play it more than an hour today now. When if there weren't server issues I could have had the whole day for it since I didn't have any particular plans for the day.
You would think developers might foresee server issues easier. That said, I don't understand why he didn't choose Humble Store to handle the transaction. Their fees are extremely reasonable for their services.
Seems like something I can waste a few hours on, I'll give it a look
