Oh hell yes, gonna buy this i think
I'm glad that cube world will stay independent of minecraft. Minecraft will always feel like that half done game that had more potential
Even if Minecraft were to be a fully completed game, this looks like it has even more potential. For example, it's not on Java!
It's like what minecraft could be, except with less emphasis on mining blocks.
I really hope there is digging. Not mining, but the ability to alter the landscape instead of just building new objects. I'm not saying this should be anywhere near minecraft in it's implementation of digging, but I really want the ability to change the landscape, flatten land, clear trees, build a cliff on the side of the mountain. Add that, and this will be the best thing ever.
Having the ability to do it with your weapon would be nice, but in terms of being an actual feature, I don't think I want to have to dig or mine anything.
Why is everyone comparing this to minecraft? Minecraft is about survival, this is about action, adventure and roleplaying.

Oh wow, this looks fantastic. Gotta keep my eye on this. If minecraft had character/enemy models that looked like these do, it would probably look like a much better game.

Someone will do it, I hope... one day...
This game is looking pretty awesome. For me, Minecraft is only really enjoyable online building big towns with people in survival. I just can't stand singleplayer anymore. I hope there are good texture packs for this game though, because that looks like it will rape your eyes after thirty minutes of playing. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
I would buy it if it was 10 dollars or less. If it's free, the developer(s) have my upmost respect and I'd donate 10 dollars anyway.
$20 would be the maximum for me probably, depending on how the game turns out.
Is there any confirmation as to whether this game will be moddable? I hope so. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
$20 would be the maximum for me probably, depending on how the game turns out.
Maybe. If I bought Minecraft for a ridiculous 20 dollars, I can definitely buy this for that much.
I'm eager to see weather and new climates. I want a dinosaur climate. Dinosaurs aren't popular enough, I think this game could pull it off well.

This game looks amazing

AKA the "Let's hype the fuck out of Endermen" update
Even if Minecraft were to be a fully completed game, this looks like it has even more potential. For example, it's not on Java!
Again, it isn't Java that causes Minecraft to be so...odd in terms of performance, it isn't Java that makes the game stale relatively quickly. It's all down to Mojang and their design choices. Notch isn't a great programmer, people have worked this out. Java is quite a fast language now, not as fast as something native, certainly, but fast enough for it to make little difference in almost all circumstances. It's just the way Notch started Minecraft that causes the performance issues, the way it handles the world and such. I'm sure if a decent, actually versed developer were to have started Minecraft, it wouldn't be as picky as it is today. They might have actually built the game in a way that would make the adventure update encourage proper adventuring. They certainly wouldn't have added The End.
Looks promising. I'm actually excited this is on voxel, because now, it won't lag the fuck out of my computer.

I liked mining because it generally involved finding a cave and exploring it, navigating the tunnels, dealing with enemies, and picking up ores as I found them in the walls. If I wanted to do major landscaping or build a huge structure it just felt more like work than fun. I'd be happier if it was kind of like Castle Story where you have a bunch of workers at your command to alter the landscape and build structures on their own time. I'd rather be able to order people to do that while I go out and do fun shit like fighting monsters. Maybe they could take a page from the Millenaire mod and have townspeople that expand the city as you bring them resources.
Weapon customization means dick swords everywhere. Sad but true.
first thing I'm making
According to his Twitter, you can only add about 30 blocks to an existing sword. Not actually create your own from scratch.
According to his Twitter, you can only add about 30 blocks to an existing sword. Not actually create your own from scratch.
Thats rather disappointing. I guess he wants it to be so different from Minecraft, that he won't put in a genuinely, albeit played out, good feature. The world looks nice, so why the hell not?
Wow, and you don't have to jump to walk up hills! Right, minecraft? :downs:
According to his Twitter, you can only add about 30 blocks to an existing sword. Not actually create your own from scratch.
You might still be able to manage an approximate penis shape with 30 blocks
Some sort of penis tumor on your sword.
It makes me sad that you can't fully customize some gear, or use like, in game currency or something to allow it on a specific item, because despite all of the suits of dick armor, it would be really interesting to see what people do with it
The alpha isn't even out yet, so he can always change his mind. His Twitter also said, "There are no plans at the time to have modding." I would fucking love to be able to build a character from scratch using blocks. Perhaps with some restrictions, though, since you'll have to fit in armor and stuff.
I would fucking love to be able to build a character from scratch using blocks.
walking penis
...God damnit, I should have seen that cumming.
Holy shit. I think the art of the cube game has finally been perfected It seems like the best pieces of Terraria and Minecraft put together. I have high hopes for this
