I'm trying to go near the helicopter in the little swamp.. Area. I just get bombarded with rad poisoning and before I realize it, I die, making it impossible to reach the helicopter. No complaints on the graphics, but I suppose I have to add mods to the weapons to make them realistically accurate.
So apparently SoC decided not to work - having long loading times and the sound going out of sync. What should I do to fix this?

I have to say, and it's probably massively bitching, but I really miss the actual radsuits you got in SoC in CS and CoP. (The SSP-99 Ecologist and the combat version?) I just thought that they were really cool, and they do have great environmental protection.

I can't find any artifacts without dying to radiation in most places that had them in vanilla. Yeah the weapons are ok, but not really accurate. Which is why I said I'll mod them.

Which is why I said I'll mod them.[/QUOTE] redux is a bit different to vanilla, you can't just do everything straight away, you need to do some missions and maybe get a Sunrise suit and stuff, then go do the choppers. unless you're using a damaged weapon, the weapons are definitely accurate - that's the point of the mod

I had to basically run away from the ship as fast as I could, whilst using a rad kit. That is ridiculous. It's one of the first missions you can even do in the game.

It's one of the first missions you can even do in the game.[/QUOTE] The rads you get are pretty low. You can walk through the ship, get the artifact and leave with only a tiny bit of radiation. In fact, most of the inside of the ship is radiation free, it's only the hallway leading out of it and a small area leading in. There's also very very few areas that will give you rads that kill you before you realize. There's telltale signs that you cna look out for, mainly your Geiger counter going off or the fact that your health is lowering. There's no reason to mod your character or weapon accuracy in SoC or CoP - CoP more so. If you want a more accurate weapon in CoP, then go upgrade them or find a more accurate weapon. If you just make it more accurate, you're devaluing better weaponry and upgrades.

I was being really indecisive between replaying AMK or playing LURK 1.1 (I don't know if it's for the first time or second time, because I can't remember whether I've played 1.1 or 1.0556) but then I found this video: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNzhMlLPh_0[/media] I don't know exactly what the combination actually is, but I THINK that it might be a combination of AMK's features and colour palette, LURK's weapons and animations, with Complete's graphics and well obviously max shaders. Anyone knows about this mod merge? (Download link is available in that video's description on mega.co.nz)

There are a ton of other things to do in the first area, - even just hunting - that messing around with an irradiated ship isn't something I really want to do super early.

I was having the same difficulty myself so I just went with LURK but I miss the features of AMK.
Use nothing but the hunting/sawnoff shotgun. Take a shot every time you miss/hit-a-non-killing-blow.
