Real stalkers kill all the grunts before they can make it to the camp.
In anything except OGSE and STALKERSOUP I do a casual stroll into the army outpost to clean them up before going anywhere else. Getting that gear from them is a huge boost in early game, not to mention all the ammo.
So everyone praised this game in the news mode, so i bought cs and cop. The thing is,i own a retail of soc, do i have to patch it? How hard will it be?

It's a race! [editline]29th July 2013[/editline]
So everyone praised this game in the news mode, so i bought cs and cop. How hard will it be?
I'm pretty sure they would have all the patches you need on the STALKER web site. actually doing it will be pretty simple, since almost every patch I've seen comes with an installer wizard. even if it doesn't, it'll be as easy as copy/pasting a few files into the right spots. oh, and don't install any mods on your first playthrough.

Oh and does soc have a fov fix? I get huge motion sickness in low fov games
Misery is bad?
Misery is average - not bad and not the best. It's overrated by ModDB and Facebook.
It's all fun and games until you crash any time you save in Zaton.
Not even starter pack? Oh and does soc have a fov fix? I get huge motion sickness in low fov games
as a person who played it vanilla multiple times, it's honestly better without mods, they're really more for fooling around with. I don't know of a FOV mod, I've never really had a problem with STALKER's fov.
Misery wasn't bad but there were some difficult parts, and the weight and money issues kicked my ass. I never got to go to Pripyat because I couldn't get enough money to buy a SEVA, pay all the people coming with me and get my guns in working condition.
Misery wasn't bad but there were some difficult parts, and the weight and money issues kicked my ass. I never got to go to Pripyat because I couldn't get enough money to buy a SEVA, pay all the people coming with me and get my guns in working condition.
I had the opposite issue, really. Before I'd even left for Yanov, I'd had over 400 AP and standard 5.45x39. There were no upgrade limitations, and for just 3.5k you can get two of the bets pistols in the game. (you ca get over 5k before you enter the Skadovsk for the first time.) It wasn't all that different from any other mod I played, other than the texture improvements. It changed around ballistics, made things do more damage and made everything more expensive while halving monetary rewards. Hell, the only thing that really kicked me in the balls was the stamina. But even then, I just hoarded a bunch until I was swimming in energy drinks. I feel that Misery is an alright mod, but it doesn't deserve the praise it seems to get. It got voted mod of the year,m which made me laugh my arse off for about ten minutes after seeing such news. Redux, which is a mod made by far, far fewer people, is just as good (better, in my opinion) than Misery, but due to them not throwing up all over facebook and everybody jizzing over the filter, hardly anybody speaks of it like they do Misery. But, oh well. I don't think it's hard, that does not mean there aren't a vast number of people who think it's hard. To each their own. Oh, lets not mention that the SEVA that nimble sells for 80k costs 55k more than the one that can be bought from Owl/Yanov. When I realized that suits like that were still so inexpensive, I felt a little sad.

"oh let me just attack the army outpo-" BEEP BEEP BMP HERE TO WRECK YOUR SHIT
Somebody's never played AMK. "oh let me just attack the army outpo-" BEEP BEEP BMP HERE TO WRECK YOUR SHIT
And then the inevitable Hind that shows up to make life in a leather jacket even worse.
Thankfully the houses/basements in the rookie camp provide ample cover from rockets. :v:
i got the mosin in lurk wow what a great gun if only ammo for it existed outside of the 40 shots you can buy at the Bar
Have you tried this mod out yourself? I was having the same difficulty myself so I just went with LURK but I miss the features of AMK.
It feels like an easier AMK with added LURK weapons, oh and also better graphics (slightly. not all textures were modified and there's this weird vignette blur - but that's adjustable through shaders). I don't know why it feels easier. It could be because complete gameplay changes were actually implemented (in which case, this mod is a nono) or because before my last AMK playthrough I played OGSE, STALKERSOUP and Narodnaya Solyanka. I've decided to go with L.U.R.K., since its gameplay is so different from AMK-based mods and I want that fresh feel. If I get tired of lurk (which I don't believe is going to happen soon, since soon the new MISERY is coming out and I want to try that [+deleting brown4ever textures] and I'll be playing that before I return to lurk) I might give vanilla a third go. I think that if my harddisk has broken sectors it's because of my constant reinstallation and remodification of my STALKER. not to mention that I have several installed copies of every stalker (except clearsky, only one installed copy of that)
why not fight them off? its only about 3 guys. also make sure your kyeboard's Fkeys work, it sucks to have to switch to inventory in the middle of a fight.
I do, but that doesn't mean I want to screw around with the radiation right off the bat. I usually wait until I've got some anti-rad meds, a decent suit, some ammo and a few grenades for the corner guy.

I'm thinking no, I went on a similar mod search last time I played CS. It really is the neglected stepchild of the STALKER series, it's not awful but most people just pretend it doesn't exist and play the other two.
Faction Wars Mod for Clear Sky, probably the only reason to play it again after completing the story.
TFW is a great mod, but i actually never completed the story for CS but i've been wanting to so i was just hoping to install a few things shame, might have to go without the sleeping bag

Going through Red Forest in the middle of the night with terrible night vision is half the fun of the game.
Whatcha need a sleeping bag for? Going through Red Forest in the middle of the night with terrible night vision is half the fun of the game.
it's a great way to kill some time and wake up in pitch black.
Just finished COP vanilla again. What mod should I play now? I'm thinking TFW.
PeopleSoup Master difficulty cave
PeopleSoup Master difficulty cave
you mean Wizard :v:
Just finished COP vanilla again. What mod should I play now? I'm thinking TFW.

PeopleSoup Master difficulty cave
Soup is for SoC, TFW is for CS.
i just figured out that it's not the sleeping bag mod causing the crash managed to solve it by uninstalling a recent windows update which apparently fucked with DX10
