I see that the whining about Misery has already gone. With good reason. This feels so much easier than 1.0 it isn't even funny. Whether it's a bug or not, I can sell damaged weapons to Beard. He gives me 11k for the wheel artifact, and considering even bandits carry around several pieces of decent price stuff, money is easy as piss to get. I haven't been playing for 2 hours and I've already got over 160k-most of it wasn't even obtained from selling weapons. That's enough to buy almost two SP99 suits from Beard. Oh, is it just me or do weapons feel weaker? I unloaded 3 sawn off shells in to a guys back (the dude who tries to scam the wheel off of you) and he was able to just turn around, pull out his gun and fire off 5 bursts before killing me. No flinching or anything. When I went to do the mercs at the water plant, it took a minimum of three Mosin rounds to the chest to take down guys that weren't even wearing exoskeletons :v: Also pretty buggy. A lot more buggy than 1.0, but it has a bunch of new features. edit: peoplesoup has given me less trouble oh god
So besides the bugs, does anyone find Misery 2.0 even remotely fun to play? I don't know if it's worth reinstalling everything for it.
It's not as good as what you would expect for 9 months of apparent hard work. Similar to Duke Nukem Forever, it was hyped to fuck and did not deliver. (oh and the flashlight)
Probably because they set a release date they couldn't necessarily meet, so they rushed it out so they wouldn't disappoint their fans by pushing it back more and work on it a little longer. Which is what they should have done apparently.

-snip- Misread it.
correct me if im wrong but couldnt the person who made the model for the flashlight in misery 2 just have made it reversed or something so it wouldnt be held upside down???
I'm reading their mod page and bug thread right now and it's making me feel really bad for the mod team.
I'm reading their mod page and bug thread right now and it's making me feel really bad for the mod team.
Don't make mods if you can't handle the heat of criticism and hate
Don't make mods if you can't handle the heat of criticism and hate
yep this is gonna happen oh and remember how the first releases of Redux and LURK were buggy too? or, idk, ShoC? I'm not saying this excuses them from having bugs in their release, but this is what patches are for.
What can i do to fix fov in SoC?
increase it
What can i do to fix fov in SoC?
Fov Switcher? ninja'd
Don't make mods if you can't handle the heat of criticism and hate

I'm reading their mod page and bug thread right now and it's making me feel really bad for the mod team.
Oh chill guys - reported stuff is actually quite minor. Messed flashlight mesh that accidently got to package + installer delivered in two parts which not everyone of 50k ppl is able to merge already constitutes a failed rls? Oh c'mon :) + 100% crashless build is impossible in x-ray if you have any ambitions higher than changing few ltx values. For now - I can say that it seems that about 5% of rigs get frequent (every 10-20 miunets and completely random) crashes on DX10 with RenderR3 mentioned in log - if you get it, revert to DX9 temporarly. This is the only 'serious' issue that has been reported so far. Oh and its the lead desinger for your beloved mod here speaking :)
Also pretty buggy. A lot more buggy than 1.0, but it has a bunch of new features.
Anything specific?
Adjusted to a few things, but I'm never going to be comfortable with the new pause/animation for eating/drinking/smoking/healing.
Adjusted to a few things, but I'm never going to be comfortable with the new pause/animation for eating/drinking/smoking/healing.
Matter of taste I guess. Fact is that it does the trick of preventing using eadibles in the middle of combat which is the main point.
I installed new Misery and read the descriptions of the foreign items in my inventory, got killed by a couple of dogs while reading, are those suppose to be the repair items? Holy shit.
Please do read them. Insane ammount of time has been spent to make them accurate and as informative regarding the mechanics as possible.
I'd love a mod that makes the gunplay like red orchestra (on realism) it'd realy make the game more terrifying when you're struggling to shoot a leaping mutant.
What the fuck. Anyone else having issues with corpses just disappearing after a tiny amount of time? I just reinstalled Misery to see if a bad install was causing my easy money problems, but nothing has changed. I murdered all the mercs at the plant, used a health kit from outside and all their corpses disappeared. That's dumb as shit. all those diet sausages and cigarettes lost to the zone due to rapid decay.

I was getting the same crashes under DX10/11 with ANY version of CoP, updating drivers fixed it I think. [editline]31st July 2013[/editline] Nvidia drivers that is.
What the fuck. Anyone else having issues with corpses just disappearing after a tiny amount of time?
Hmmm - I remember prolonging it quite a lot untill I (+testers) have found it ok. Anyway - play with these values in scripts\release_body_manager.script:
local MIN_RELEASE_DISTANCE = 150 local IDLE_AFTER_DEATH = 10800 local BODY_MAX_COUNT = 200
[editline]31st July 2013[/editline]
Huh, interesting. I was getting the same crashes under DX10/11 with ANY version of CoP, updating drivers fixed it I think.
Yep - as always we are dealing with random combination of vanilla and mod-induced issues. Sometimes the issue is vanilla but for ex. increased visuals make it appear much more often on mod. This way or another - we actually needed 10k 'testers' instead of (even dedicated) team of 10 to fix random / rig-specific crap like that.
Strange, I started it up and encountered NO issues whatsoever. I guess that my computer is imbued with some wizardry, as it can take SMP 2.4 Full without crashing as well as unpatched Misery 2.0. Oh and I'll be reserving the entirety of tomorrow to just learning what the fuck the new items are doing, like seriously there's so much new content that it's both convoluted and slightly unnecessary but in a way also sort of exciting because now there's shit that I don't already know. Again, this is my personal opinion but having this down to detail level of customization in builds and what to purchase makes it nearly Path of Exile level of modifiable. I wish though that the bloody screen were removed. Regardless of how much ~realism~ a game wants, blood doesn't spill on your eyes and if it does, chances are your eyes automatically close and try to cry it away.
Does anyone have the link to AMK: SE on hand? [editline]31st July 2013[/editline] for download I mean
Why does vanilla SoC advertise itself as having stealth elements? I've only pulled off 2 stealth kills. Enemies can see you a mile away and could hear a pin drop twice that. Are there mods to fix this?
[t]http://puu.sh/3QHjw.jpg[/t] the grind for the 5.45 groza was worth it
Putting Misery 2.0 aside, if I had to pick one other "complete" mod for COP, what would it be?
Redux :v: no seriously, take it for a ride.
[t]http://puu.sh/3QHjw.jpg[/t] the grind for the 5.45 groza was worth it
why didnt you just stalk that one duty guy until he was alone and kill him for it, thats what i did :v:

They walk to the body and OH SHIT IT'S LIKE AN ANT NEST. ShoC does this well. Don't expect to go all Metro with your knife, it's a last resort. Period. That said, I did just waste most of my starting money in Misery 2.0 for the Spetznas knife. I'm experimenting and trying to see what works and what doesn't. Really, if I wanted to describe my reaction to playing the first 15 minutes of Misery, it'd be this: Not in a positive or negative way, though. It's just a whole new world and it's far too early to judge anything before playing some more.
why didnt you just stalk that one duty guy until he was alone and kill him for it, thats what i did :v:
the game can fuck up and make every duty member hostile to you way after his death, i didn't want to take the risk
MISERY has a lot of promise and depth, but it's marred by awkward glitches. My flashlight is still in a awkward position, even after applying the hotfix. From what I know, that's related to picking the sniper class. I guess I'll just wait until they roll out a new patch that addresses things.
Does AtmosFear 3 and MISERY 1.0 work togheter?
the game can fuck up and make every duty member hostile to you way after his death, i didn't want to take the risk
i think i remember this guy, i believe if someone dies on the the duty post near the garbage he gets sent there. theoretically he could die from one of the many mutant or bandit attacks, of course you'd have to be there when he dies but there's that.
